"I mean that your beauty is just out of this world. Pictures add beauties to people but in your case, I think it took a bit of your beauty from you. Your beauty is so blinding, your beauty is heavenly. In simple word, you look like the goddess of beauty herself," Clark flattered. He meant every words he said but Stephanie thought he was just saying those words to impress her.
"Hahaha..... that is so hilarious. I almost took your words seriously," Stephanie said smiling for the first time since she met up with Clark.
"Wow! You have finally smile. I have deliberately said funny stuffs to make you happy but it didn't work. I can't believe you smile smile when I really said my mind," Clark said smiling along with her. He was glad that he was the reason behind those smiles.
"You know what. Out of all the guys I have meant, I like you more. You have a huge sense of humour," Stephanie said still smiling.
"Really? I am happy you like me. My friends said they were hundred percent sure that you would reject me. I am so glad you like me," Clark said twisting her words. Stephanie was a bit taken aback when she realised that the guy had misunderstood her.
"Mr Clark, that is not...." the ringing tone of his phone cut her short.
"Miss Woods, please just a minute. Let me answer this call. I will be through in a few seconds," Clark said before he took a few steps away from her. True to his words, he did not keep her waiting for a long time.
"Sorry about the wait. It was a phone call from my assistant. He was so eager to report to me how his meeting went with one of our new client, I hope you are not angry that I took business related call on our first date?" Clark asked. He would have ignored his assistant call but he knew he would keep on pestering him if he ignored the call so he did not have any choice but to answer the call despite the fact that he was with his date.
"Hey, Clark you don't have to apologise. I know how demanding work can be sometimes beside you did not keep me waiting for long," Stephanie said. She was unbelievably nice but she can also be mean whenever she feels she is being treated unfairly. Her motto is, "I repay kindness with kindness and hostility with hostility".
"You know what?" Clark asked staring at her.
"What?" Stephanie asked curiously.
"You are not only beautiful outwardly but also within. You are such a pleasant lady. I have always assumed that all beautiful ladies are prideful because of their beauty but you have just proved my assumptions wrong," Clark said. The way his eyes were always focused on Stephanie was as if he has become addicted to her.
"You think so?" Stephanie asked.
"Mmmm....," Clark trailed his gaze still on her.
"You won't be able to to say this if you see the other side of me," Stephanie said trying to dissuade him. She did not need him to confess that he likes her for her to know. Although she has promised herself to forget the mysterious V boy, she was not ready to be in a relationship at the moment.
"I will still like you despite everything so you don't have to worry about that," Clark dashed her hopes. They kept on talking for about five minutes before Clark offered to take her home but she rejected his offer showing him the car she brought.
"Miss Woods, are you really sure you don't want me to drive you home?" Clark insisted standing beside the car that Stephanie had already ignited.
"Mmm..," Stephanie trailed beaming at him. "Thanks, I really had a great time tonight," Stephanie said.
"Same here, I will make sure to contact you soon. Be expecting my call," Clark said waving at her departing car. He instantly entered his car too and took the same direction she took. Stephanie parked her car outside her apartment before she stepped out and entered her apartment. All this while she didn't know that a car was following her. He drove off after seeing her successfully enter her room. Without removing her six inches high heels or jewels, she lied down on her huge bed. When she was in the restaurant she felt her phone beep several times so she took out her phone to check who the person was. She saw that she missed 12 messages and 20 calls. Her brows furrowed in annoyance when she saw who bombarded her with those messages and calls.
"You silly girl, why aren't you picking my calls? I know you are deliberately ignoring my calls," goes the first message.
