Disembodied Souls

Leon was holding out a crossbow. He shot it and missed terribly.

Krilla: It's alright. It's only your first time. Let me see.

Krilla took the crossbow and held it out with one hand. She thought about her stance and held it with two hands.

Krilla: See? Your body has to be square too!

Krilla shot the crossbow and got a bullseye.

Krilla: Here. Hold it like that but don't shoot.

Leon did just that.

Krilla: Shoulders up. Your legs need to be square with your body.

Krilla moved his legs a bit with her foot.

Krilla: Now, fire!

Leon shot the bow and hit extremely close to the bullseye.

Krilla: Awesome!

Leon: Woah! I did it!

Krilla put her hand out for a fistbump. But Leon had no Idea what she was doing. She took his hand and made it hit hers.

Krilla: Then you go, BOOM!

Leon: Boom?

Krilla: No! BOOM! Big boom!

Ivan was sitting in a place that looked very much like earth. But everything around him was slightly faded and the sky was completely black. He looked around and saw everyone in the cage. With Leon in the middle.

Ivan: Fascinating.

Terra: So we won't sustain any injuries? It'll just be us and our soul?

Leon: Are you really sure you are all prepared to possibly die to beat him?

Millie: You could break us out, right?

Leon: I could. I will while you are in there.

Millie: I have people to take care of. I have a life to live.

Leon: If you don't wanna go then that's fine.

Millie: I just want him outta my head! I don't want you guys to risk your life. I'll go in.

Terra: I've seen what Integer's done. I'd be more than happy to take down another one of her legs…

Donny: This is me and Amelia's mission.

Amelia: There's no question, we're going in.

Leon: Alright. Here we go. And for what it's worth. I'm sorry for not telling you about Krilla and I'm sorry for blaming stuff on you when we first met Terra. You really are a nice girl who cares about people. Please. Get revenge on him. For Krilla.

Terra, Donny, Amelia and Millie all nodded to him.

Terra: We won't let you down.

Leon recited a spell. Everyone felt an extreme pain in their gut and their souls were forced out.

Leon: You should be able to see me. But I can't see you. I need to pull you out. So I'll keep this spell going. While I try to break this barrier.

Everyone looked around. Everyone was normal but they were all outlined with a blue aura.

Donny: Woah! You are like, super blue.

Amelia: Like really blue? More than I already was?

Terra: Wow…

The roof of the facility was off and all Terra saw was the starry black sky.

Donny: Hey, is that Leo?

Terra: Awww! You remembered!

Amelia: Hey, we're here for business. Not a honeymoon.

Terra: Right. Hey actually. I see no constellations.

The stars all seemed to be moving around. They looked up and saw multiple souls duking it out.

Soul2: I'm never-ending! I'll kill you. I'm a god!

Soul1: Yeah I bet.

Soul1 held out their palm and completely disintegrated soul2.

Millie: Brutal…

Amelia: From what I know this is kinda like the in between of heaven and hell. Like a limbo.

Terra: So where might we find Ivan?

Amelia: He can't be far…

Terra: Well let's press on!

Leon was casting two spells at a time. He was holding open the portal to the astral realm via a seal on everyone who was there. He broke through the barrier between him and the jail bars. He heard steps coming down the hall.

Leon: Shit.

Riley sped over to Leon.

Riley: We have an unwanted visitor!

Riley vibrated her body through the bars. She grabbed Leon by the neck.

Riley: You did something to them. Didn't you?

Leon: That's right. What will you do about it?

Riley: Oh it's simple. I'll kill you.

Leon fired a fireball low at Riley. She hit the bars and got to her feet. She ran onto the walls of the cell. Making an extreme wind and picking up Leon and everyone's stationary bodies. Leon put out his hands and made the wind duller. Riley fell down but landed on her hands and sprung towards Leon.

They had left the base and everything was a faded color. But the sky was still vibrant.

Terra: What do you think those stars really are?

Donny: I dunno. Sure are beautiful though.

???: Those "stars" are actually souls. Floating around in the Astral plane.

It was Ivan.

Ivan: So why would you be in the right mind to enter this place?

Amelia tried to harness her speed but nothing happened.

Ivan: Yeah. We have no powers here. We are just lowly souls here. But this here, this is very reliable here.

Ivan took out his longsword. The blue circuits going down it are even more vibrant.

Amelia: Hey, what happens if we get hit in this form?

Donny: Dunno.

Terra: Guess we'll find out.

Terra ran up and did a superman punch. Dodging Ivan's swipe with his sword. Donny ran to the other side of him. Amelia dodged his swipes and did a flip backward. Donny kicked Ivan in the back but he was completely unscathed. He elbowed Donny in the face. He fell back. Amelia kicked him in the back of the knee and Terra kicked him in the face. Millie ran up and punched him in the face and kicked him to the ground. He got up and hit Millie away with the hilt of his sword. Amelia grabbed him by the wrist and tried to take his sword. Ivan smirked and chopped her in the side of the neck. She fell back and got up. Donny ran up and went for a kick. Ivan simply knocked his kick off course and pushed him away. Terra went for a punch to the face. He blocked and struck but she blocked and countered. He stumbled but grabbed her and kneed her in the gut and elbowed her in the face. He swung up his sword and hit her in the chin. Terra fell back. Ivan took his sword to completely exterminate her out of existence. But Donny jumped in the way. He was stabbed right through by Ivan's sword.

Terra: DONNY!

Donny: I'm sorry it had to end like this. We had potential, didn't w-

Donny and his blue self faded away and traveled up with the stars.

Terra: No...No...NO!

Millie came up and did a hook kick and broke Ivan's sword in half.

Leon couldn't hold the spell much longer. Riley kicked him to the ground and everyone came back to their bodies. Except Donny.

Amelia: What happened to Donny?!

Amelia shook Donny's lifeless body.

Amelia: Come on Donny! Hey! Hey! Come back! Come back you asshole!

Amelia cried into Donny's arm.

Ivan cut all the bars in half with his half-a-sword and stepped into the cell.

Ivan: Stop Riley. I've got this.

Riley: Wait. What happened to Donny…?

Ivan: Leave. I've got this!

Riley left quietly.

Terra started to glow with a red glow. Her teared up eyes lit up and power coursed through her veins. Ivan looked intrigued.
