Listening to her explanation, Liu Guanyi nodded in understanding.
If there were a lot of people in a region, line of work, or system, it was natural for a conflict and competition to exist. However, it seemed the situation among the princesses was much worse with King Zahard himself fanning out the flames on the competitions.
Adori continued. "There are many factions among the princesses. Each family of the ten great families' princesses is on their own. Each of them has a considerable number of princesses since most of the princesses are taken from them."
This was expected by Liu Guanyi. The members of the ten great families were much more talented than most residents of the tower, so it was obvious.
Moreover, being adopted in the Zahard family with their original family as a backing would make them more influential. After all, they were both the ruling parties in the tower.
"Since a small number of them are also picked from regular residents if they are qualified, there is also a faction for them as well even though they are considerably weaker than the ones coming from the ten great families."
"However, even if those from the ten great families are really talented, they won't hold important positions in the Zahard Empire due to their affiliations and loyalty toward their own families." Said Adori.
They continued their conversation as they walked past by many shops without heeding the gazes that many people sent in their direction, both Adori and Liu Guanyi were good-looking, after all.
"That's the reason why there's one faction among them that king Zahard favored and put above the others… the loyalist faction. The chosen princesses of the loyalist faction are groomed with the best education, training, and treatment from the Zahard family."
"But to be chosen as one, they mustn't be members of the ten great families and also being exceptionally talented, comparable to the direct descendant princesses."
"And I was chosen as one." Adori said it casually.
Now, this was truly surprising. Liu Guanyi thought since Adori was very talented, she had hailed from one of the ten great families.
He thought maybe when a member of the ten great families was chosen as a princess, they would abandon their surname and take the Zahard surname, like Adori, but apparently, it wasn't the case.
"When the Zahard family took me and groomed me after I won the once in a hundred years candidate competition, they noticed my talent and picked me up into the loyalist faction since I didn't come from the ten great families."
"However, they will only announce my identity after I become a Ranker so it's not surprising for an insignificant member of the Lo Po Bia family like him doesn't know it." Adori calmly ended her long explanation.
Liu Guanyi had a smile on his face as he nodded in understanding. "I see, it really is a complicated system. No wonder he came to offend you, he must have thought of you as another competitor to the princesses from the Lo Po Bia family."
"Unfortunately, he has offended you, a loyalist instead. Well, he is reckless anyway so he deserves it."
Listening to his comment, a smile appeared on her face. "You are right, and it's not like he can do anything to us in the Workshop battle. They are only E-ranked regulars, a single attack probably will end all of them."
"Well, that's true." Liu Guanyi smiled in aggrement.
Liu Guanyi was an exceptional warrior so his senses were off the charts. From his observation, even the leader was nothing special.
Even Xin was much stronger in terms of physical strength and close battle. However, considering his special Anima skills, maybe he could still defeat Xin albeit at a heavy cost.
As for defeating him or Adori?
A pipe dream!
Liu Guanyi was sure that he could kill him within the blink of an eye if he used all of his efforts, let alone defeating her, that Lo Po Bia was truly a frog in a well.
"However, you know that my goal isn't merely becoming a Ranker, right? That's why I am going to train again in these three days. There's nothing important to do here so it's better to make use of our time properly, right?"
"You…" Adori let out a sigh. "You are really dedicated to training yourself, aren't you? Is there a deeper motive why you are so driven and determined? Your training routine isn't exactly normal, but it's okay if you don't want to talk about it."
Adori spoke carefully as she didn't want to intrude on his boundaries but she really wanted to know his reason. She had never seen a person like him who trained willingly with his own accord to such an extreme extent.
"It's alright I'll tell you, it's not that important after all." Liu Guanyi agreed to her question casually, surprising her a bit, but Adori recovered quickly as she perked up her ears.
She was really curious about what kind of events and experiences that could create such an unusual man like him.
"Let's start it from the beginning to give you a clear view. I was born in a poor family and neighborhood. There were a lot of crimes and unrest in my hometown so a lot of people died every time all year round."
"My parent was weak so we were lucky to even be able to survive for a few years. However, I knew that someday our luck would run out eventually."
Adori nodded deeply, it seemed that he also had a rough childhood like her. It seemed that experience was the one who made him sharper and vigilant compared to most people, just like her.
"We continued our life with my concern grew bigger and bigger each day. Fortunately, on that day, I heard about a Martial Practitioner who opened a training regime for the children in the area. When I joined for the first time, I was instantly attracted to it."
"Long story short, I dedicated my time to my new passion and decided to abandon my life in my hometown. After quite some time, I became the best Martial Practitioner in the region." He stopped his explanation as he clenched his fists.
Liu Guanyi spoke with a lot of emotions. "But… I know that I haven't achieved the end of my journey. After a long process of trying to improve without finding the answer, I was chosen as a regular and climbed the tower."
"To put it simply, I love to train and to improve as a Martial Practitioner, that's it." Liu Guanyi calmly said with a smile.
"You are… incredible. To pursue your passion and goal to such an extent, it's really admirable." Adori said without hiding her astonishment and amazement.
'No wonder he walks on his own path because… he has the qualifications to create his own path!'
