Reaching Out

A boy left all alone in the world after being abandoned by his mother in a poor clan that treated him harshly because he started showing signs of being different from other kids and the people around him. With him being ostracized more and more he became less and less of the cheerful young kid he use to be until eventually turning discreet and mute around others in hopes that they would stop being scared of him. Though that plan never worked out for him and, in the end he was left to strive on his own as best as he could in the environment he was left in. He explored the towns library and any books he could find in his Clan even if they were useless. Years on years of doing such things eventually led him into stumbling across a book that would help push him towards the thing he wanted the most. "The Basic Guide To The Astral Path" This book may not of been special to anyone in the long run but, it was to him because, it was his new beginning. With this new path available to him would he be able to push through all the obstacles and hardships waiting for him or in the end will he stumble and fall? Or will people be there to catch him if he does once again?

Tension In The Air

*eaahhhhh*

Releasing a big yawn Xilo stretched his body now that he finally got a little break. "All that talking was tiring." That was probably the first time he had ever talked that much in his life. Tearia had kept quiet for the most part and Relia was dealing with Xelfia the whole time leaving him all alone to do all the work. "Speaking of Xelfia." Turning around he saw Relia still next to Xelfia as he walked to them. From first glance Xilo could tell she was getting tired but as much as he wanted to tell her to take a break he wanted to get to Landelt before then.

"How's Xelfia's condition?"

"She's stabilized enough to let me take a little break, just a little more and the rest will be up to her. So quit worrying."

"Ahaha, thanks Relia...I hate to say it though but we'll be walking for a bit until we find Landelt City."

"Great more work, swap with me."

"Can't walk for you sorry, don't worry though it shouldn't be to far away."

"...Nnnn..."

Azalu had meant that for Relia specifically however Xilo confusing it for that was fine for the both of them. Neither of them were ready to tell him or anyone else about their condition just yet. Relia was afraid they would shun her and Azalu was afraid they might do something stupid with that information. "I'll take care of Xelfia more later, for now do the walking." "Thanks for helping her." "Hmph, couldn't let your work go to waste." Feeling her voice fade away towards the end Relia let the topic go she felt Xilo's hand rub her head.

"Thank you."

No...problem."

Without even bothering to stop rubbing Relia's hair Xilo turned towards Tearia who still seemed out of it as he called her over. A little absent mindedly Tearia walked beside Xilo however when he tried to grab her hand she pulled away a little bit to avoid it. Feeling her pull away he felt a little sad but he didn't push it. "Looks like we really need to talk soon." That would require Xelfia to be able to talk with them though. Narrowing her eyes, Xelfia didn't miss that little interaction as she crawled up Xilo's body and latched onto him. She enjoyed being in this position in this form as much as possible and since it wasn't often she wanted to enjoy it while she could.

"Well there's quite a bit of a walk until we arrive at Landelt, so we better get moving while we can."

"Nnnn..."

*Hissss*

"I'm fine with anything you want."

With that a slightly awkward silence filled the air as the four of them walked with a tension Xilo hadn't sensed before. "This is going to be a longer trip than I thought." Arriving at the path, Xilo kept his mind occupied as he tried to figure out how to break this silence. Nothing was coming to mind though no matter how much he thought about it so he just decided to be quiet in the end. Continuing down the path Xilo followed the directions ZIlan had given him as time passed until he finally decided to speak up one question that was nagging at his mind. It wouldn't fix this awkwardness but it was better than nothing.

"Relia, why did you come back?"

"Hmm...?"

"I told you to run away right, you could have gone anywhere after that and yet you arrived here with Xelfia again. Why is that?"

"I just..Felt...like..it..not happy to..see me?"

"No that isn't it at all, I'm glad you're here. I was just being silly, that's all."

A little confused with Xilo relia tilted her head as she followed behind them as she stayed silent. After that no one else said a word as they continued their little journey. If they were lucky they might reach landelt by night so they needed to hurry if they wanted to get into the city and find a place to stay. With hours passing none of them ever said a word and Xilo had long given up even trying to think of saying something and instead just chose to enjoy the silence after a long night of talking. Eventually enough time had passed for the sun to start setting as they got closer to Landelt.

They had passed quite a few travellers and merchants going about their business too. Xilo was thankful that no one tried to attack them though, human or beast. Right now that wasn't something they didn't need so it made the trip relatively easy. Eventually a set of walls came into vision along with a long body of water and a giant bridge that linked the land to the city. "I'm guessing this is it?" It matched the description Zilan had given him pretty perfectly.

"Looks like we're here."

Looking at the city ahead of them, Xilo reached the bridge and took a step forward on it. Walking along it he felt a little panicked but he kept his cool as they made it to the gate and signed in like any other city before this. Making his way inside, the streets were still bustling with people even at this hour but he didn't care to stay and observe. He rushed straight for a place to sleep as soon as possible. Following one of the city's guides he was given he found one nearby and quickly paid the fee with what little money he had left. Walking up a couple sets of steps he found the room he was looking for with the three girls still behind him as he opened it up and released some stress. He was exhausted in so many ways and had ignored so much stuff but he no longer had an excuse anymore.

"It's time to chat."

With them here now and safe Xilo was done ignoring the awkwardness as he sat down on a bed that was there. There was a lot he wanted to talk about and he needed answers. With Relia back to helping Xelfia it wouldn't be long until he could see her again and this time he wouldn't let any of them escape from him. Especially Tearia and the way she had been acting since Xelfia showed up.

Enjoy.
