Reaching Out

A boy left all alone in the world after being abandoned by his mother in a poor clan that treated him harshly because he started showing signs of being different from other kids and the people around him. With him being ostracized more and more he became less and less of the cheerful young kid he use to be until eventually turning discreet and mute around others in hopes that they would stop being scared of him. Though that plan never worked out for him and, in the end he was left to strive on his own as best as he could in the environment he was left in. He explored the towns library and any books he could find in his Clan even if they were useless. Years on years of doing such things eventually led him into stumbling across a book that would help push him towards the thing he wanted the most. "The Basic Guide To The Astral Path" This book may not of been special to anyone in the long run but, it was to him because, it was his new beginning. With this new path available to him would he be able to push through all the obstacles and hardships waiting for him or in the end will he stumble and fall? Or will people be there to catch him if he does once again?

One Out Of........?

Calming himself he ignored any attacks that hit him as he tried to tell where they were coming from. Most attacks seemed to hit his legs so whatever was hitting him was most likely lower to the ground then Xilo was which meant it was small and fast. "That'll be hard to find." But with each attack Xilo was starting to notice the intervals of pain and how far apart each attack was. "4 or 5 seconds it seems." It was a start but he could build up his information from there at least.

Trying his best, Xilo spread out his Astral Energy around his legs and dragged it out as far as he could, even getting a centimeter or so was a struggle. With each little bit he tried going out his energy would fall apart and fade into nothingness when he lost control resulting in him taking another blow without being able to stop it or dodge. Trying again he pushed it out just to experience the same result again yet this time he was hit in the arms. "How do I keep it from falling apart." Whenever the Astral Energy went outside it felt heavy and slow keeping him from doing anything. "Guess I just gotta keep trying." It might be slow and painful but it was his only option at the moment and with the little damage he was taking Xilo guessed this test was meant to test how well you can detect sneak attacks and handle them.though he couldn't keep this up forever.

Meanwhile Xelfia was struggling herself still going around the room trying to find Xilo but wherever she looked she couldn't find him or hear his voice while she was constantly attacked. "What do I do." Her detection skills were awful compared to Xilo. "If this keeps up I'll die." Without Xilo here she was going to struggle immensely so she was trying to find him but it seems like this room wouldn't let her do such a thing. "Damn room, It seems I'll just have to hope for the best." Finally giving up looking for Xilo she waited for the next time she got attacked.

"Ow."

Feeling pain she kicked her leg in a random direction and hoped for the best. "Why can't I use my Astral Energy at all." Unlike Xilo she couldn't even get it out of her body in the slightest which frustrated her immensely. Feeling her foot hit nothing but air she retracted it and waited again for whatever was attacking her. Soon it came again as she kicked once more but this time on she felt something scrap past her foot barely missing. "Was that it?" Waiting again she kicked once more but nothing happened. "No luck this time it seems." But she was slowly figuring out the timing as well now that she was actually paying attention to it.

"about 3 seconds or so."

Waiting until the last second she thrust her foot out again when the time came and felt it connect with something as it bounced off her. "No pain this time, did it work?" Feeling nothing hit her after that she realized she had actually hit whatever was hitting her but soon pain ran through her again. "A little late it seems." But she was getting closer and this time she even felt something a little bit different with that attack. "Was that a breeze?" all the other times she hadn't felt it but this time a faint breeze passed by her skin when she hit it. "If I can feel the breeze it's creating before it gets to me I might be able to get it before it hits me." Thinking that she waited again as she concentrated for any small bits of movement and soon felt it once again pass by her.

"There."

Feeling it behind her she turned around as fast as possible and kicked with as much force as possible since she was no longer guessing. Feeling her kick connect she didn't hear any screams of pain or sounds of bones breaking as she sent it flying backwards the way it came but she was confident it was dead. "That should be it." Now that thing was dead she only had to wait for it to be over when Xilo finished. "This seemed a lot more easy then I thought it would be....Something seems off." With that thought an unreasonable amount of pain flowed through her entire back as she almost shouted out in pain.

"Come on, where is it." Xilo was finally getting a hang of keeping his Astral Energy outside his body as time went on to the point where he could even extend the distance a little bit more and the area it covered. Now he was just waiting for the opportunity to strike out and attack whatever approached him. "There it is." Sweeping his leg back he dodged while ducking down lower and sent his fist straight for its body when it approached him. "Not getting away this time." But instead of letting it escape his clutches he opened his hand at the last second grabbing and crushed it with his bare hands as he brought it up to him making sure it was dead. Unfortunately he still couldn't quite see but from what he felt it seemed similar to a rodent. "A mouse or a rat maybe? well whatever At least that's done with. I wonder what's ne-'' But before he could finish his sentence he felt something approach his back and quickly jumped out of the way."

"I see there's more then just one attacker."

Tossing the body of the first one away he stayed fully on guard as he waited to be attacked again. Thankfully now he had gotten the trick to it down so he just needed to wait until whatever it was approached him then he would be able to deal with it as fast as possible. "I wonder how many of these things we have to face." Thinking that he felt it approach and got ready to attack while Xelfia did the same on her own side. "Dammit don't let your guard down next time..." Both readying for a fight they launched an attack at the same time without knowing and killed the second creature attacking them.

Sometimes I suck at this...sorry its late again lol.

Enjoy
