Fighting Against Destruction For All

*Crrrrrrrrrrrrrkkkk*

Nothing ever came to her as she heard the barrier finally snap into pieces unleashing the ball of death. Falling to her knees she felt herself become completely drained of all of her energy along with everyone else as the ball travelled toward the centre of the city destroying everything in its path. "Who could have done this?" She didn't know who had the power or malice to do something like this, nor would she ever find out now. Closing her eyes she felt the cold ground hit her face as she awaited the destruction that was coming for all of them. It slowed down and lost some of its power, however that wasn't enough.

With the Barrier broken now the Astral Zone panicked as it tried to figure out how to save itself. It went through multiple simulations in it's head all at once to try and think of something. None of them ended with a desirable result though leaving it with one choice. Sending out a mass of Astral Energy it sucked the ball towards it quickly before it caused anymore damage and absorbed it. Smashing into the Astral zone it ripped apart it's surface layer as it dug into the Astral Zone's skin destroying more layers. Keeping all of the Astral Energy inside the Astral Zone sacrificed itself to stop any further damage while sending out memories to other Astral Zones to pass on information before it's death.

Buildings around the Zone collapsed as the whole city experienced an earthquake. The people who were still aware or alive felt their whole bodies shaking as they struggled to stand. Finding some kind of grip with anything they could find they watched as their City was completely flipped over in a matter of minutes. Their minds couldn't catch up to what was happening fast enough. Destroying more layers the Astral Zone did it's best to hold on and protect the City above as it was ripped apart layer by layer. It wasn't going to last long, soon that ball would make it to it's core and destroy it's source of power completely.

Reaching deeper everyone watched the destruction it caused without blinking as the ball eventually reached the core. A swirling source of light blue energy swirled in the centre of a room peacefully. In the empty room that small light almost seemed like it looked up at the mass of death ripping through the roof and reaching its core. With no time for anything else it collided against each other as one last explosion happened. The two energies fought against each other before fusing and expanding. With a loud rumble a giant crater the size of a city was formed underground as any signs of both energies disappeared from the earth completely. Excess energy blasted upwards into the sky destroying most buildings near the Astral Zone but it was kept to a minimum thanks to the Astral Zones previous efforts.

Waiting for the shaking to finally stop, a strange silence fell over the city. Anyone who was still able to move quietly made their way to the location of the Astral Zone. In a couple of minutes a hundred or so people stood at the edges of the giant hole peering down into a pit of darkness as horror filled their faces. Bodies and buildings lined the street in a heap of rubble. They weren't even sure who was alive or not anymore as they looked at the graveyard of a city in front of them. Some freaked out and ran away unable to handle this kind of reality while others stared blankly at the hole in front of them. Only a very few people started to try and help the people around the place and clear up any rubble they could.

The City had gone from one of the most popular ones in their country to a shell of its former self in minutes. "I was hoping to obliterate the city as well, a shame." With her test firing out of the way the Queen was partly satisfied with the results she had seen. Feeling her life slip away she shrugged it off as she noted down the Astral Zone's ability to fight back. She hadn't taken that into account before but now that she knew, she would be prepared next time. With another slash she killed a man who tried to attack her while she wasn't paying much attention. It was a man from Tidal who watched the destruction of his home and couldn't hold back anymore.

"What did you do to my home!?!?!"

Holding his axe he raised it above her head and tried to split her in half. That was quickly stopped as she cut his arms off forcing him to drop the axe. Looking at the man who cried out, the Queen felt nothing as she stabbed him in the chest. Staring at him blankly as life left his eyes the Queen could care less about who hated her or felt misery. The only thing that mattered to her was the safety of one person now. Looking to her side she saw Felli shaking a bit as a low sigh left her mouth, hidden to everyone else. "I guess she wasn't ready after all." That was to be expected though so the Queen did her best to ignore it. "One day you'll understand." Even if it didn't seem like it, this was for the better.

Blankly staring at the destruction that just occured Xilo felt his whole body quake in anger and fear. Forced to watch that he felt sick just from thinking about it. Watching all those innocent people die for absolutely nothing was a horrifying sight that burned itself into his mind. Anger, rage, sadness, hopelessness, so many different emotions filled his head as he looked at the Queen. "...I...I....I.." He tried to form a sentence but he couldn't even do that as his head rattled in pain. A large headache overcame him as he mind threatened to rip itself apart from within. Even through all that he still saw people silently standing next to the Queen joining her side without a word.

"You....people."

None of the other people in his group were better off than him. Zilan felt the fire in stomach burning for release as he looked at the Queen. Xelfia constantly felt herself wanting to rip her apart into shreds as her scales continuously swapped back and forth. Tearia's body sparked constantly as her mind energized her entirely. Relia felt her head split into two as wind circled her body, cutting her skin. The twin's stayed perfectly quiet as they saw their world turning upside down in front of them while Marie silently gritted her teeth. Even Kirel who didn't quite understand what was happening felt all of their moods rub off on her as she angrily growled and put her body low to the ground.

"What exactly are you after Miss Queen?"

The only people who managed to stay calm in this situation was Keltal and his little group of people. "So this is what she's been planning." Watching the Astral Zone and city die didn't phase him at all. He had seen much worse in his lifetime and that little attack helped him more than anything. "Althea would be happy to hear about it's destruction as well." A part of him felt like leaving here when no one noticed him but when he looked over at Xilo's group he couldn't. "I guess I need to play along a bit." Althea would also kill him if he let Xilo die here and not do anything. "Can I even stop the Queen though?" Comparing himself to her he knew he was a lot weaker even at his peak.

"The destruction of all those zones of course. They were never meant to help us, they're just tools of destruction that have been growing over the thousands of years all for one purpose. To wipe us all out and let those damn Nepl come back to take the stage once more. While I don't care much about them I refuse to let everyone die to those Astral Zones. If I have to kill a few hundred thousand in process though to save them so be it. In my eyes that's more than worth it and much more preferable to sitting back and waiting to die. What do you think Leader of the Fiery Clan?"

"....Do you really think those zones will eventually kill you, are you that insane?"

"I know for a fact they will after that little demonstration just now. The zone sucks power out of people whenever they go in one and constantly use it to power itself up and grow stronger. Once it grows strong enough it releases Astral Beasts it creates into the world as a test of strength. Eventually though there won't be any more tests, these Zones have endlessly grown for years and people are starting to reach the limits of the strength the Zones allow them. Once we can no longer pass those "tests" then what? They'll simply destroy us and replace people with an entirely new race. Instead of waiting for that I would rather destroy them and break past the shackles they place on us. The Astral Strength they give us is not the end all be all. See me as horrible all you want, I'm just trying to help."

Enjoy.
