Olympus

Ravenna's P.O.V

I followed Hermes clear up into the clouds above a huge mountain. when we arrived dusk was just beginning to settle into night. landing on one of the clouds I looked up tiredly only to be fully awaken. it was beautiful! huge golden gates stood proudly before us with bluest sky above you could have ever imagined. doves, ravens and flying horses invaded the sky with the sound of laughter. this was Olympus?

Hermes touched his staff to the gate and I watched as it slowly opened. my mouth dropped. there was honestly no word befitting enough to describe the beauty of Olympus. every blade of grass was greener then the most darkest evergreens, wild flowers popped out of the ground and covered most of the cemented stone benches like ivy. shining buildings as tall as a mountian rose to the sky seeming to be made out of every metal and glass possible decorated the cloud we were on.

the laughter ended as soon as we stepped into the gates. looking around I found some half goat half man men and colorful girls with pointed ears like elves stopping in their work to stare back at me. blushing slightly I quickly looked down while scolding myself. no one likes to be stared at. after a few minutes of awkwardness just standing at the gate a booming voice rose into the air nearly knocking all breath from me.

"Hermes you couldn't walk your sister a few more steps forward?" sister? confusion ran through me as I tried to figure out who was Hermes sister. I chanced looking up at Hermes to see him roll his eyes.

"my sister as you say was admiring the view Zeus." I felt my eyes widen as my head snapped to the man with a booming voice. Zeus! quickly bowing my head to show my respect I cursed myself. mother would have my hide for my negligence if she were here. laughter could be heard from Zeus.

"raise your head child." he spoke softer making me look at him quizzidly. he was a tall stocky man standing over six foot five at least. his black hair was well past his shoulders. he had vibrant blue grey eyes with a slightly crooked nose, thick full lips and a solid square jaw. his dark tanned skin was mostly covered by the expensive suit he was wearing with a blue lightning bolt pocket square with gold buttons and cufflinks. a single gold banded ring was on his ring finger showing he was married to Hera.

regaining my voice that i had somehow lost I relpied. "its an honor to meet you Zeus. thank you for allowing me to come to your beautiful home." his booming deep laughter echoed around us at what I had said. not quite understanding why he laughed at my compliment as he whiped a single tear from his eye after a few minutes of laughing he responded.

"oh Ravenna if I'd had known how adorable and hilarious you were I'd have had Hermes gather you here sooner. come my child! there are many who want to meet you and I'm sure you are hungry after your travels!" still confused I followed behind Zeus and Hermes attempting to wrap my mind around the odd behavior of this god. perhaps I would never know.

hearing laughter nearby we soon entered a grand dining hall with twelve greek pillars made of gold reaching up to the sky as if it were the ones holding it up, statues of the gods adorned the room in front of each pillar. a massive golden table that had twelve thrones on top of a lifted platform sat in the center of the room drawing ones attention right to it. below the lifted platform sat silver tables with matching seats. the floor was grey and covered with lighting bolts. seemed Zeus was a bit egotistical.

Zeus clapped his hands once and silence entered the room. one could hear a pen drop it was so deathly quiet until Zeus broke the silence.

" fellow Olympians and other gods and goddesses! I am pleased to announce Ravenna Featherstone has joined us!" cheers erupted from every corner of the vast room as Zeus walked to a woman with blonde hair neatly put into a bun with a single peacock feather sticking out. her green gown covered her slender figure showing off her olive skin and bringing out her golden eyes. that must be Hera i thought to myself as a goddess walked up to me. her brown hair curled into ringlets flowed down to her waist in waves, a deep purple dress clinging to her showing of many curves with a slit starting from her high thigh going down. her warm chockolate skin enhancing her beauty and five foot six frame. a rounded face and straight features made her look like a porceline doll. Aphrodite. had to be.

"hello Ravenna! my how much you have grown sense Nyx created you! and how lovely you are starting to look. not as lovely as I am but close enough." her voice was seducing. if I wasn't paying attention to what insult she had laid I would have missed it.

"you must be Aphrodite. it is a pleasure to meet you goddess of beauty." keep it simple Ravenna I kept thinking to myself while allowing the insult to be thrown. the last thing I need is an angry goddess when I just got here. she smiled coyly at me while walking away. i was about to relax when another goddess approached.

her long black hair was braided behind her back, she wore a simple white dress that hung off one shoulder. her tanned skin complimenting the outfit. short figure and slight muscle made me jealous of her. a straight nose and deadly bowed lips with high cheekbones and a square jaw made many men fall head over heels. her golden eyes danced with mischief and her perfectly black eyebrows were smooth. though she wasn't as beautiful as Aphrodite but she was still amazingly beautiful. who is this woman?

"hello Ravenna I am Artimis, goddess of the hunt and virtue. its a pleasure to meet you." her voice was like silk and full of innocence. I smiled at her.

"its a pleasure to meet you as well goddess of the hunt." she grinned and took ahold of my arm.

"come let me introduce you to everyone! I can already tell we are going to be great friends." I couldn't help but laugh at her enthusiasm as she paraded me around to meet the other gods and goddesses. after the introductions it was finally time to eat. I was starving! still having my arm looped through Artimis' she guided me to one of the silver tables and sat down with me. looking up at the golden table I saw Zeus frowning at us slightly. I nudged Artimis and she looked at me then looked at Zeus.

"don't worry about it Ravenna. he wants me to sit on my throne but I don't want to sit there looking down on you." she said while brushing off his now glare. it made me confused.

"but if its your throne you should sit there. not with me. I don't want to bring down your status Artimis." I told her worridley to which she laughed.

"Ravenna you are so adorable! bringing down my status! please say no more!" she spoke while still laughing. I frowned. in the mortal realm it was important to have ones status spotless so others don't use it against you. perhaps it was different with gods? shaking my head I turned to the meal and started eating. it seemed I had much to learn about Olympus and the gods it housed.
