Rebellious Maidens - Episode 13

[ ~ Chapter • Start ~ ]

"Everyone's really busy around here...." Sill spoke, glancing around the office that has several women that were sitting around or carrying stacks of papers to somewhere important. "... Though I wonder where Elenoir is...."

They looked around, until they saw Elenoir sitting behind a desk reserved for her. She seems to have been waiting for them, while wearing clothing fit for office workers.

It completely suited her at this occasion.

"What is it? If it's Shizuka, she can wait for a few more days. Besides, I've got some assisting to do for Maria." Rance spoke first, before Elenoir glared at him with a deep frown.

"Yes, however you do not have enough time!" Elenoir half-shouted, slamming her fist onto the desk in front of her before regaining her composure. ".... Shizuka has already released the seal on the town, and do not question me if releasing the three of us did something on it, because in reality, Shizuka has done exactly that."

Elenoir sighed.

"I do not know what she wants, but the sealing of the town, accompanied by her not letting the townspeople escape for her to capture young girls, all to accomplish a goal. Because she released the seal, she must be finished in preparing something and there is no need to seal the townspeople here."

Rance began to tap the floor underneath him, before nodding.

"What do you think about what she's going to do, master?" Sill asked, seeing that Rance closed his eyes to think clearly.

"She must have built something that would drain the life force and mana of said girl, just like the Phil Rings you were forced to wear for months." Rance spoke, leading Sill and Elenoir to be in shock, awe, and fear.

"D-Drain? For what purpose exactly...?" Elenoir spoke, realizing something as she subconsciously looked at the hand where she had formerly wore the cursed ring and shook her head. "Ah, I'm fine now, I don't have to worry about the cursed ring thanks to Rance...."

She brought her attention to the two of them, ".... still, you should take a shortcut down from the well. She is in the final floor, but I don't know where she actually is. You may go now, time is running short."

But, after she spoke that, Rance stood in place.

"That's all? I thought we'd have a heartfelt conversation here?" Rance spoke, being in slight disbelief that Elenoir would just want him and Sill to go down this instant. "You know, after all that happened a few days ago."

This time, the office lady looked away.

"... Umm... keep it short, okay? You still have Shizuka to save, and I still have to atone for the sins I have done to the townspeople..." She spoke, slowly feeling down and losing confidence.

"I don't really know what's gotten into you, but blaming yourself for something like that is borderline stupid and foolish." Rance spoke with a soft glare aimed to Elenoir's direction "That emotional state you're in would eventually become worse if you think too hard like that, cheer up or something! You need to work hard to maybe atone for those "sins" you have committed to the townspeople living here." He finished his sentence, trying to cheer her up a tiny bit. Sill also tried to be enthusiastic and supported Rance's words.

After a short while of thinking, Elenoir gave Rance a short smile.

".... I see... Thank you, Rance. I'll heed that advice of yours."

"That's all I wanted to say, nothing more and nothing less. I'm going to tell the others about what we were talking earlier."

Rance and Sill stood at where they fought Maria, while the latter wondered what would the former do at this moment.

And to not forget, Rance has already worn the [Leazas Holy Armor] above his coat and had the [Leazas Holy Sword] sheathed on his back. Ready to fight anybody

They have brought in a few high quality Ibeprofun from the drugstore that the Yorks sisters run, and helped several people in the town before telling Maria that they still have Shizuka to save.

"Just in case we don't waste time, I'll just have to get us down to the deepest floor, or the fifth floor to be exact the quickest way possible without wasting a lot of time and maybe stamina too." Rance spoke, waving his hand as the same yellow magic circle appeared before them.

He held Sill's hand as they walked to the middle of the circle, and began to make it drill downwards to the fifth floor.

While they were being transported down to the deeper floors, Sill began to look around, and was amazed at the surroundings of the third floor, that was formerly ruled over by Mill.

She asked questions about Rance's exploration around the place, and all of those questions were answered quickly.

After another while, they arrived to the fourth floor, where they met face-to-face with the Liver, who was practicing with it's singing.

"Ah, hello again, Mr. Liver!" Sill spoke, as the Liver's attention was brought to them.

"Hello.... to you.... again...." The liver replied, before it noticed that the magic circle they standing on was also drilling the fleshy ground beneath.

Seeing this, it got scared and angry.

"You....-!!!"

*BANG!*.

The Liver gained a massive hole from Rance's [DEagle] and began to rot. Sill became scared, too.

"Master, why?"

"He was going to attack us, you know?" Rance blew the smoke from his gun before putting it back to it's holster as they proceeded down to the deeper floor.

While they were being transported down, the both of them began feeling slowly rising heat flow to them, until.....

.... They arrived down at the fifth floor, a massive cavern with hot magma several hundred feet below, and a long bridge of hot, dark red stone that the magic circle floated to.

The temperature around them had already reached up to a burning 100 degrees Celsius.

Nothing two high-leveled people like Sill and Rance couldn't withstand. If they were, their skins would have already began burning.

"Ummm.... it's really hot around here...." Sill spoke, before raising her wand and casting a spell. "[Cool Down]!"

The temperature around them dropped by several tens of degrees. After that, Rance began to immediately observe the area around them after dispelling the platform they recently set foot upon.

They seem to be in another crossroad, with the path behind them probably leading back to the town. The path in front of them leaded somewhere deeper into this dungeon, and there's another path to a mansion.

With curiosity, the two of them strode to the mansion.

What awaits them there?
