[8 pm Vermillion City, Kanto]

After Alakazam teleported Lan to one of the alleyways near the entrance of Vermillion City it immediately went back to the Lab and left Lan to do his business.

Lan found a cheap hotel and proceeded to walk around the city exploring the numerous amount of stores that boasted many different specialty items and Pokemon from different regions.

Selling Pokemon was not illegal but only Pokecenters and Licensed Breeding companies were allowed to do so. Many of the transactions for pokemon come from local breeders, daycare centers, and Pokecenters that are constantly being observed by the league. The majority of new Trainers tend to buy a league starter lotto ticket and can exchange it for a random starter at the local Pokemon Center or gym. Others who perform well enough might even get sponsored by a gym or a local Professor depending on their grades and potential.

Since Vermillion was a port city it was a place where many different shipping companies were based out of allowing a large assortment of goods and Pokemon to be seen.

Since Lan had been back in Kanto he knew he needed a way to travel but buying a car was pretty expensive so he wanted to look at the collection of motorcycles that was here otherwise he would have to find a Pokemon that he could ride.

He made his way to a dealer and its showroom to look at the available models. When he entered he was dazed at all the flashy vehicles. He saw many Offroading vehicles and sports cars that were the top of the line brands. He was then approached by a sales assistant.

Sales Assistant " Sir may I help you with something?"

Lan "Yes you can I am looking to buy a Bike and my price range is 70,000 Poke"

[A/N I assumed 10 Poke = 1US Dollar

So that means 200 dollar potion is approximately 20 US$ which seems reasonable yet somehow expensive for Pokemon trainers. It's an expensive profession]

Sales Assistant froze hearing the budget as most of the people who came into the store where big spenders and could care less about budgets. "Sir our store only offers the best of the best here so the cheapest vehicle we offer is around 150,000 poke but if you are a League trainer would entitle you to a discount."

Lan frowned as he had a lot of money from his research publishings but kept it in his lab funds as he usually didn't need any personal money for things other than food. He sighed and asked, "What is the discount for league trainers?"

Sales Assistant who was getting eager to go to another customer in order to earn his commission just put on a strained smile and said 3% for each badge you have won. Most of the shops around Kanto are a little bit higher around 5% but since we only sell top of the line products we are not able to give as much of a discount."

Lan thanked the assistant and left immediately much to the Assistant's pleasure. Meanwhile, Lan was in his thoughts. 'Maybe I can use my lab budget to get a bike or something and write it off as a company vehicle. But that would leave me with reduced funds to fix up the lab. Sigh, I guess Kanto puts an emphasis on League Trainers.'

Lan was making his way back to his hotel to get some sleep before the busy day tomorrow when he was brought out of thoughts by a loud commotion in front of a store for buying and selling Pokemon and Pokemon Products.

"I am telling you this Magicarp sir it's a one in a million Pokemon." yelled a shaggy old man that smelled like a fisherman.

Then one of the three people who had tossed the man out of the store arrogantly put up his nose and humphed. He had a mustache and wore an expensive suit and started to ridicule " A Magicarp is a Magicarp. Pokemon of different colors are just needed by scientists. The only other color Magicarp that has been found was golden but it died before scientists could capture it... For all, we know you just painted this Magicarp and ruined our clients' time. Now leave or I will call the cops."

The frail elderly man hung his shoulders and started to leave down the street making his way through the crowd that had formed to watch the show.

Lan had his curiosity peaked and followed the man who eventually came to rest at a bench overlooking a pier.

"You have been following me now what do you want?"

Lan a little surprised but didn't show it. "I was curious about the pokemon you where selling."

The man snorted "You came to laugh at me too?"

Lan smiled wryly and put up his hands "No I just wanted to see the pokemon"

The man just snorted and tossed a Pokeball in the air and quickly a large Magikarp formed. It looked like a typical Magicarp except that its whole body was an off silver color.

Lan smiled and bent down to touch the fish who was swimming happily in the water while saying to the man "I believe that the special color of Magicarps was gold but this one is silver. Also not many people are willing to buy Magicarp and this is probably why that place rejected you without taking a look at the Pokemon."

The man was irritated but listened.

Lan "How much where you trying to sell it for?"

The man "I was thinking that it was rare so I asked for 2000 Pokedollars"

Lan Blinked and said "An ordinary Magikarp sells for around 200-300 Poke"

Man"Yeah I know I make a living by fishing, you think I am stupid?"

Lan just smiled and shook his head "It is just that Magikarps are not in demand as they are common and they are a pain to train. Although there evolved form is strong it does have a temper. Say what I will make you a deal I will buy it for 500 Poke because after all, it is just a Magicarp"

Lan then transferred money using his ID. [ Okay just made this up but assume its like phone to phone secure payment or something that links to your account. Can be anonymous Otherwise, how would people battle and earn money and such? Eventually replaced with Pokedex?]

Both people smiled and went their separate ways after the transaction. Lan made it to his hotel and smiled at his transaction. But he immediately frowned He couldn't wait for the Auction tomorrow and needed to get information fast. He threw his thoughts aside and drifted to sleep.

Lan shouted in joy "Hell yeah all of these seem awesome but I don't want to make my life too easy. I at least want to get the STORE, CRAFTING, OR AURA TRAINING as those seem to be the most helpful.

I already have plenty of Pokemon knowledge so a Pokemons Analysis won't be that useful and same with the Friendship Reader as I don't care what people think about me except my sister of course.

Lan eyes fluttered as he tried to wake up. He immediately sat up on his bed panting hoping that everything he experienced last night was a weird but realistic dream.

But sadly it wasn't as his thought where confirmed by the bed full of sweat and the light blue semi-transparent screen in front of him.

The screen was simple and had three tabs one was a generic Profile Page, the second was a termed "Analysis" and the last was called "Inventory"

Lan smiled and looked at the new upgrade cost it was 10 times the last upgrade meaning that it now costs him 10.000 POKE. Lan grit his teeth as he needed to save money for the auction and to get information. That was why he had brought so much cash with him and hid it from his sister.

Lan was a little puzzled by the percentage but assumed once the Pokemon hit 100% it would be ready to evolve.

Lan then looked at the time as it was already almost afternoon he had to wait till night when the Auction and Market started. Lan then went to the Pokemon Center to get Magicarp checked up on and got a scolding from Nurse Joy about how to properly take care of it as it was highly Malnourished. Lan just repeatedly nodded his head and took the scolding. After eating and getting back Magicarp Lan made his way back to the hotel where he started to meditate.

He slowly tapped into the Blue Silver Energy within his body and gradually circulated it around his making sure not to miss any part. He could only complete about 12 cycles in a session. He had always had perfect control of his Aura but for some reason, the quantity stopped increasing about a year ago after he broke through the first level which required 10 revolutions.

After a couple of hours of meditation, he got up and sighed " I still can't seem to break though I am completely stuck on what to do now. Z always seems to get stronger and he will catch up to me in no time."

"Well, I don't have any time to worry about this, its time to go to the market and get some information" while looking at the clock.
