Gym of Castella City: Part 2

"Shine on and show him your art Whirlipede" Camus said throwing a pokeball.

"You will go first Darumaka" Touya said also throwing a pokeball.

"Whirlipede / Darum Darumaka!" both pokémon said as they entered the arena.

"The match between challenger Touya and gym leader Camus begins..." Conse said out of nowhere.

They both thought of their first move and ...

"Now!" Conse said seriously.

"Darumaka use work up" Touya said with a clear and firm voice.

"Whirlipede enhance your greatest virtue and attack using your best handicap" Camus said calmly.

'What?' Touya thought confused.

Whirlipede used iron defense and then approached Darumaka (who had already finished using work up) hitting him squarely with rollout.

Touya couldn't foresee that so his gaze turned concerned.

"Pokemon battles are an art in themselves, if you give orders that are interpreted differently, but that your Pokémon can still understand can be the key to a victory" Camus said with an explanatory and calm tone.

'I see' Touya thought with understanding.

"Darumaka use the fire without getting close and dodge it in the best way your body allows it" Touya said in a calm but clear tone.

"That's it challenger, Whirlipede keep attacking" Camus said with a smile.

Whirlipede continued using rollout, but Darumaka always dodged him by rolling on himself and using incinerate.

After a few more attacks Whirlipede was defeated.

"Whirlipede can't continue anymore, the gym leader only has two pokémon left" Conse said seriously.

"Whirlipede come back, you did a good job" Camus said with a smile.

"Come back too Darumaka, you deserve a little break" Touya said calmly.

"Darum Darumaka!" Darumaka said approaching Touya happily.

"Come out Dewott / come out Dwebble" they both said at the same time.

"Dewott use focus energy" Touya said quickly.

"Dwebble hide in yourself and improve your virtue" Camus said in a calm tone.

Dewott concentrated and Dwebble used withdraw to improve his defense.

"Dewott use razor shell, control your element to propel you and scare him if necessary" Touya said quickly.

"Dwebble leave him without sight and use your pliers" Camus said quickly.

Dwebble used sand attack when Dewott was close enough, but he still took a big hit and he was knocked out.

"Dwebble can no longer continue, the gym leader only has one pokémon left" Conse said seriously.

"Good job mate" Camus said and then returned Dwebble to his pokeball.

"Leave him dazzled Leavanny" said Camus throwing a pokeball.

From this came a green pokemon covered with leaves with a slightly intimidating aura.

"Dewott use focus energy" Touya said seriously.

"Leavanny finishes him off with his greatest weakness!" Camus said excitedly.

Leavanny moved at great speed and then hit Dewott with a sharp blade and knocked him out without Touya being able to react.

"Dewott can no longer continue, the challenger Touya only has 3 pokémon left" Conse said excitedly.

"Come back friend, you did a good job" Touya said calmly as he returned Dewott to his pokeball.

"Can you help me Darumaka?" Touya asked Darumaka next to him.

"Darum!" Darumaka said entering the arena with excitement.

"Leavanny cut him with your blades" Camus said quickly.

Leavanny quickly approached Darumaka but when he was close enough

"Darumaka use incinerate and then use your element physically" Touya said excitedly.

Darumaka quickly understood and used incinerate to stop Leavanny then use fire fang to do some good damage.

But while Darumaka bit Leavanny Camus said.

"Use slash" Camus said seriously.

Leavanny used slash, rendering Darumaka unconscious.

"Darumaka can no longer continue, the challenger Touya only has two pokemon left" Conse said even more excited.

"Come back friend, you did well" Touya said with a smile.

"Get out Sawk!" Touya said excitedly.

"Sawk!" Sawk said determinedly.

"Leavanny use your speed and cut it at all angles" Camus said quickly.

"Sawk take revenge for your fallen comrades" Touya said calmly.

Leavanny approached at great speed as Sawk concentrated by closing his eyes and surrounding himself with a yellow aura.

When Leavanny was close enough Touya said.

"Now!" Touya said with determination.

Sawk opened his eyes and used retaliate on Leavanny landing a big blow and even throwing him against a wall, leaving him totally defeated.

"L-leavanny can no longer continue, the winner is the challenger Touya" Conse said surprised.

"Sawk!" Sawk said raising his right arm in victory form.

"We did it friend!" Touya said copying Sawk.

Camus returned Leavanny to his pokeball and said.

"You managed to understand the art of a battle and to lead your pokemon with ease, you are a very promising trainer Touya" Camus said with a smile.

"I didn't say it before but I thank you for helping me with the team plasma both times, although you should better control your character" Camus said with a warning tone.

"Yeah I'm sorry about that" Touya said as he scratched his cheek.

"You are worthy of the Insect badge" Camus said with a smile giving the badge to Touya.

"Besides the TM Struggle bug, which is a very useful bug-type move" Camus said proudly.

Touya took the badge and put it on his badge box and then put it in his bag along with the TM.

"Thank you very much" Touya said gratefully.

"It's nothing, and remember art is everywhere, you just need the one who interprets it" said Camus with passion and then said goodbye.

And so Touya got the third badge of his journey.
