Ash also returned back to Pallet town after one day, with his friends, Delia decorated the whole table with food.
They were planning to visit Professor Oak after the launch.
…
Professor Oak lab,
Gary was already present there when they entered the lab.
Because of presence of Vidal, Gary and Ash were behaving quite well.
Everyone started to talk about their adventure and different Pokemon they encountered.
"Where is the Pokemon league this year?" Gary arise the question.
"We came to know the same thing," Ash answered.
"I will answer your question but first I need to see something," Professor looked at Ash and Gary.
"So, you two hand me your Pokedex for a moment, I want to check them," Professor Oak asked.
After they handed the Pokedex, they were waiting to know the what Professor was checking.
"Very interesting, I just scanned your Pokedex. Gary has seen 60 different Pokemons and Ash has seen over 100." Professor Oak announced.
"All right, I beat him," Ash cheered.
"But Gary captured many more Pokemon than Ash."
Ash mood went down.
"Vidal why don't you give hand me your Pokedex as well," Professor Oak said.
Vidal handed the Pokedex and waited.
"As expected, I have never seen this type of data in any Pokedex yet." Professor Oak said looking at the data.
"How many?" Gary and the trio were also interested.
"Vidal has seen total of 146 different Pokemons, and he had caught over 300 Pokemons," Professor Oak said with a smile.
The four in the background were dumbfounded.
"So Vidal is this limit of Pokemons you are able to catch in Kanto region, or did you left any other behind," Professor asked.
"Only the three fossils Pokemons were left behind, which I suppose you can get your hands easily on. This brings the total to 149, which is total number of Kanto native Pokemons," Vidal didn't include Mewtwo and Mew data.
Vidal also didn't mention this data include three legendries birds as well.
"I am very impressed with you Vidal. You help me fulfill one of my dreams in such a short amount of time," Professor Oak said.
"I have heard there are 150 Pokemons, and then we find Togepi. I think there are many Pokemon left to discover," Brock pointed out.
But before Professor can say anything, "If we add Mew to the list, then the Pokemon number becomes 150. As for Togepi it isn't exactly from this region."
This time even Professor Oak was dumbfounded, 'I am a professor here.'
"Yes, Vidal is right." Professor Oak can only support.
"Come to think of it, when I left pallet town I saw a Pokemon even Pokedex cannot recognize," Ash said.
"Oh… That must be Ho-Oh. It is a legendary Pokemon," Vidal said simply.
"You mean, he saw a Legendary Pokemon," Misty, Brock and Gary were shocked.
"Vidal, are you sure about that?" Professor asked with doubts.
"It depends upon you to believe or not?"
After a moment of silence,
"Well, let's forget about this matter. Why don't we all go and see Pokemon in my backyard," Professor Oak changed the subject.
Everyone nodded.
The backyard of the lab was turned into a gigantic ranch for Pokemon to roam and relax.
"Here all the Pokemon caught by trainers are allowed to run around, and I feed them food on daily basis." Professor Oak said.
"I like to study Pokemon the proper way, in their natural habitat living free. When Pokemon live in the environment like the one they are born, it is easier to observe how they are affected by their trainers," Professor Oak said, "And I have made an interesting discovery in that area."
"Oh what is it?" Ash asked.
"Pokemon frequently takes on the trainer who captures it." Professor Oak answered.
"Ohh. Hey that's true like Misty and Psyduck." Ash said.
"That's ridiculous." Misty screamed.
"This only works, when the Pokemon and trainer are in frequent contact with each other." Professor Oak added.
Then suddenly a peculiar scene appeared in the ranch.
Every Pokemon in the ranch were looking towards the group.
"What is happening to the Pokemon?" Misty asked taking few steps back.
"They must be excited to see their trainer has returned," Professor turned to look at Vidal.
Every Pokemon started running towards the group, the whole ground was shaking.
"I think we should go back to the lab everyone," Misty suggested.
"Dragonite come out, help me a little with this thing," Vidal called.
Roar! Roar!
Then with the roar, Dragonite appeared in front of Vidal. This caused all the running Pokemon to halt.
After another roar, the Pokemons went back to what they were doing before.
"Vidal, you got a Dragonite. Why didn't you send one to me?" Professor started to run around Dragonite.
"Well, I was able to encounter only one. They are very rare to find, you know that," Vidal answered.
Everyone was amazed to see Dragonite except for Gary.
Gary has seen the fight of this easy going Dragonite not long ago, so he was still somewhat hesitant to go near it.
"Why don't you let your Pokemons out? I can check them and they can play around." Professor Oak said.
Everyone called their Pokemon out and Professor Oak checked them one after another.
Ash and Gary started to battle and bicker again, Misty was sitting by the lake to watch water Pokemon, Brock was following Professor Oak and Vidal was asleep in the open field feeling the cool breeze.
The day passed by quickly.
Next day, Delia, Misty and Brock were ready to go to Seafoam Island leaving Vidal and Ash behind.
Ash as always having nothing to do, went to Professor Oak lab early in the morning.
Vidal after having a good breakfast reached Professor Oak Lab.
"Oh Ash left for Seafoam Island to research on how slowpoke evolve into slowbro." Professor Oak informed.
'Then it's a perfect time.' Vidal thought.
"So, professor, how many Ash Pokemon are there in storage system."
"Kingler, Muk and Tauros; why do you ask?" Professor Oak asked.
"So can I meet with them? I want to train my Pokemons with them." Vidal said.
Professor thought for a moment, "Well, they must be in the ranch at this moment. But I don't think they will train with another trainer."
"Don't worry professor, I know how to handle things," Vidal smiled.
Professor brought Vidal to the back of the lab and located Ash's Pokemon.
"What are you planning to do?" Professor Oak asked.
"You just wait and see," Vidal said, "Everyone come out; it's time to do some training."
Professor gathered one of the 30 Tauros, Kingler and Muk in one place, "They are all here."
Vidal Pokemon was on standby, "Dragonite, you first teach them some basics of our training schedule. And go easy on them; you need to prepare them mentally to adjust to the training."
"And everyone else find open and safe place and continue with your usual training."
Starmie and Arcanine went one way and Alakazam and Gengar went another way.
Dragonite took Tauros, Kingler and Muk for training, leaving confused Professor and smiling Vidal behind.
The purpose of training was to see, 'What would have happened if Ash actually won the Pokemon competition.'
Another reason was, 'Isn't it fun to see a kingler sweeping the entire Pokemon competition.'
"Professor let's leave them for some time, I have an important matter to discuss with you," Vidal took out the Eevee egg from his bag.
The egg was taking too long to hatch; he was worried about the egg.
