Misty suddenly heard a deafening growl, followed by Seymour's voice right next to her ear.
"Careful!!"
Before Misty could react, she felt a force push her away. Seymour had thrown Misty and Clefairy to the ground.
Bang! Bang!
Energy blasts struck the rock wall beside them, causing a strong explosion. Seymour shielded Misty and Clefairy with his body, and a few stones fell on him. Fortunately, they were only small stones.
If they had been larger, it could have been disastrous, endangering both Misty and Clefairy.
Misty was startled but sighed in relief as she realized what had happened. She felt a sense of gratitude. This uncle may seem unreliable, but he's quite responsible in critical moments.
"Are you all right?" Seymour asked worriedly as he got up slightly.
"It's okay, thank you, uncle!"
As they spoke, the two noticed a chill in the air and discovered that the spot just attacked by Axew had been blasted open.
The hole led to the outside, and the mountain wind blew in, causing the chill.
After all, they were on the mountain, where the temperature was much lower than at the base.
Axew!!
At this point, Axew did not continue to attack but rushed toward the gap and jumped out.
Clefairy!!
Clefairy, who was next to Misty, showed a flustered expression when she saw this.
Despite her earlier fear of Axew, Clefairy seemed to overcome it when she saw Axew jumping out of the gap and followed after it, leaping out.
"Clefairy! Where are you going?" Misty was startled, but it was too late to stop her. Just as she was about to follow, she heard footsteps, causing both her and Seymour to tense up.
In the current situation, they couldn't tell if it was Ash or the poachers. If it was the poachers or Team Rocket, it would be bad.
"Misty!!" A familiar voice called out, and Misty breathed a sigh of relief.
"Ash, you guys are finally here. That Pokémon just now..." Misty was shaken. The poachers hadn't chased them, but they had encountered a Pokémon she'd never seen before that almost took their Clefairy.
"Where is it?" Ash asked urgently.
"Over there, it ran out through that gap, and Clefairy followed. Ash, let's hurry! Otherwise, Clefairy will be in danger." Misty knew from Ash's reaction that he might know something about the Pokémon, but now wasn't the time for questions, so she quickly responded.
"Let's go!" Ash said, moving toward the gap. There was a slope leading outside, with a narrow but relatively flat path below it, and a river running beside the road.
Without hesitation, Ash jumped down, sliding down the slope. Brock followed right behind him.
"You two, slow down!" Misty called out as she slid down as well, much slower, but steady. Seymour followed, almost tumbling over, screaming as he went.
When they landed on the narrow path, Seymour nearly fell into the river, but Brock's quick reflexes saved him.
"Where's Clefairy?" Misty asked, getting up and looking around, but found no trace of Clefairy.
"Pika!!" Pikachu sniffed the air, then pointed upstream in Ash's direction.
"Over there, let's go!" Ash signaled, and the four of them hurried along, soon noticing signs of an attack on some of the trees and rocks above.
It was clear that the destruction was caused by Axew, and it confirmed that they were on the right path. However, Axew was still in a crazed state, making it extremely dangerous.
At that moment, the frenzied Axew continued advancing upstream, relentlessly unleashing attacks and destroying everything in its path. Clefairy followed closely, though she seemed anxious, as if sensing something important ahead.
Soon, the two Pokémon arrived at a peculiar location. The towering mountain wall before them resembled the mouth of a volcano, but there was a gap that connected to the road ahead.
Axew rushed forward, focused only on attacking and not caring what lay in front of him. Clefairy, increasingly worried, sped up to follow.
As they moved through the gap, it became clear from the air that this raised mountain wall wasn't a volcano's mouth but a massive meteorite crater.
Due to the meteorite's impact, the ground in the middle had sunk, while the surrounding area had risen, forming a shape similar to a volcano's mouth.
In the center of the meteorite pit lay a gray meteorite with a rough surface, yet it had a gemstone-like luster. Despite its fall from space, it remained intact.
Axew reached the crater first, his crazed mind seeing the meteorite as just another obstacle to destroy.
Roar!!!
Axew roared, blue energy flashing from his abdomen. As he opened his mouth, a surge of blue energy rose from his abdomen to his mouth, aimed directly at the large meteorite.
Clefairy!!
Clefairy quickly rushed in, jumping in front of Axew and spreading her arms wide to shield the meteorite. She shook her head in a panic, as if pleading with Axew to stop. But in his crazed state, Axew couldn't hear her.
Boom!!!!
For Axew, Clefairy and the meteorite were just targets to be obliterated. The blue energy erupted from his mouth, blasting toward Clefairy and the meteorite.
"Pikachu, use Thunder Shock!!"
At the critical moment, a voice rang out, and a yellow figure leaped into action. A burst of golden electricity surged from Pikachu's body, transforming into an electric snake that swept out, intercepting the Dragon Rage.
Boom!!!
The collision of energies triggered a powerful explosion. Smoke filled the air, and a strong gust of wind blew through the area.
