CHAPTER 12 – WE HAVE TO RUN

The Pokéball had fallen from the tree and the central part stopped glowing indicating that the Metapod had been successfully catched.

"Perfect, we've already saved the Metapod, now we just have to slowly get out of here and we'll be safe" – I said.

The others nodded and we tried to get out without making any noise, but the moment we turned around, someone came out from the bushes, it was Troy.

"Did you think you were leaving without paying for what you did to me?! Let's see what you do against a herd of Beedrill!" – Troy exclaimed.

He then threw a stone at one of the Kakuna, which fell to the ground causing a loud noise.

We all stood still because we didn't know if that had alerted the Beedrill, but just at that moment, we heard the flapping of dozens of wings and from behind the tree dozens of Beedrill came out who seemed quite angry for having thrown the Kakuna to the ground.

"Hahaha, you deserve it!" – Troy said with a smile.

And then, he ran away.

"Ash, we should run away too!" – Celeste exclaimed.

"Yes!" – I nodded.

Then, I grabbed the Bulbasaur and the Pokéball in the floor and we ran off at full speed while dozens of angry Beedrill chased us.

"Pikachu try to scare them away using Thunder Shock!" – I said as I ran at full speed.

Pikachu nodded and launched several electric attacks at the Beedrill with the intention of scaring them away.

The lightning bolts hit some Beedrills causing them to fall to the ground, but that only caused the rest of the Beedrill to increase their speed.

"Now they are angrier!" - Celeste exclaimed.

Both were running at the maximum speed that their legs allowed them because if they gave in, even a little, the Beedrilles would catch up with them and who knows what would happen to them if that happened.

"I think we should run into the water! Is there a river near here?" – I asked.

"No, there aren't any, the Viridian Forest doesn't have any rivers that I know of!" – Celeste said.

"Then, we only have to go back to the City, maybe we will mislead them there!" – I exclaimed.

We have no other choice, the fatigue was getting stronger and stronger and the Beedrills did not seem to want to give in, it seemed that they wanted to trap us at all costs.

We kept running for a while, but just as we were about to get to town, we ran into Troy who was also going to town, but at his own pace.

"Are you thinking the same as me?" – I asked Celeste.

"Yes!" - Celeste nodded.

"Pikachu, when we pass by Troy throws a Thunder Shock at the ground to raise a smokescreen!" – I exclaimed.

"Pika pi!" – Pikachu nodded.

Let's hope it works.

Determined to escape, we headed towards Troy.

"You guys, I can't believe you came this way!" - Troy exclaimed in amazement.

Troy was also going to start running, but he reacted too late.

"Now, Pikachu!" – I shouted.

"Pika pi!" – Pikachu nodded.

Then, Pikachu launched a powerful electric attack towards the ground causing a huge smoke screen.

"What the hell?!, cough...!" – Troy exclaimed.

The smoke had blinded him and made him cough temporarily.

Seeing that, the Beedrills stopped to wait for the smokescreen to disappear and when it left, the only thing left in sight was Troy, who looked around in confusion.

"Huh? What's the matter? Where are those bastards?" – Troy asked confused.

The Beedrill looked around, but saw no sign of Ash and his friends, but when they looked at Troy, they remembered seeing that human with the other two and their Pokémon, so since the others had fled, the Beedrill began to chase Troy while he screamed in fear.

"Ahhhhhhhhh, you'll pay for this, I swear on my life!" – Troy shouted as he ran for his life.

When Troy disappeared on the horizon, our heroes who had hidden in the nearest bush, poked their heads out and set off.

"It seems that everything has worked out in the end, by the way, before I forget" – I said as I took Metapod out of his Pokéball.

I didn't release him, first I want to ask him if he wants to come with me.

"Bulba!" – Bulbasaur said.

"You're welcome" – I smiled.

Bulbasaur was very grateful to this human for helping him, in fact, thanks to them, the Metapod was not devoured.

"It's funny the color of this Metapod anyway..." – Celeste said.

But suddenly, the Metapod began to glow with a resplendent light.

"It's evolving..." – I said enraptured.

It's incredible, seeing this in real life is not possible to express it in words.

"It's the first time I've seen a Pokémon evolve, but it's so beautiful..." – Celeste said.

Even though Chansey was the evolution of Happiny, nurses Joy in trainee were directly getting a Chansey, not a Happiny.

Pikachu and Bulbasaur had also been enthralled by watching Metapod shapeshift.

When the light stopped, you could see a Butterfree of a peculiar color, specifically it was a pink Butterfree... wait a minute, is this Butterfree pink? Like the one that appeared in the anime when Ash freed his Butterfree?

"Freee, freee!" – said Butterfree.

Now that he had evolved, Butterfree could once again express himself clearly, so he began to happily flutter around everyone as if he was thanking us.

"You're welcome, don't worry" – I said with a smile.

The Butterfree kept fluttering for a few seconds and then landed on my shoulder, specifically the opposite one Pikachu used to ride.

"By the way, it is true that I have catched you, but if you want, I can release you so that you can return to your friends" – I said.

I know what they're going to say, but I can't help it, it's my nature to be that kind.

"Free, free!" – Butterfree denied.

Although she couldn't tell Ash, the truth is that the rest of Butterfree abandoned her when she was just a small Caterpie, all because she wasn't the same color as the others, that's why, even if Ash freed her, she wouldn't have a home to return to, so it was much better to go with Ash and live exciting adventures.

"Well, welcome to our team" – I said with a smile.

"Pika pi!" – Pikachu said.

"Free!" – Butterfree said cheerfully.

Seeing everyone so happy, the Bulbasaur began to think, the human in front of her seemed to have something that attracted her, it was as if something inside her told her that she should go with him, not that Bulbasaur did not want to, but many trainers before Troy had tried to catch her because of her strange color and it is not that she had companions in this forest because she liked to be alone.

"Well, Bulbasaur, it's been a pleasure to meet you, but we have to go" – I said.

"Yes, we have already had too much fun and if we don't leave now, we will arrive very late to Pewter City and honestly I don't feel like spending the night in this forest with those Beedrills hanging around the forest" – Celeste said.

"Neither do I" - I nodded.

"Pika pi" – Pikachu nodded.

The best thing to do was to leave as soon as possible.

"Bulba!" – Bulbasaur said suddenly.

Surprisingly, the Bulbasaur hit my leg with its head lightly.

"Is it serious? I want you to know that you will have to nattle, I am a Pokémon trainer and my goal is to be the best, so if you come with me, you will inevitably have to battle" I said.

Somehow I could understand his gesture.

"Bulba!" - Bulbasaur nodded.

"If you're clear about it, welcome to the team too" – I said.

Then, I pulled out a Pokéball and Bulbasaur hit the center, catching itself.

"How lucky you are, two Pokémon in one day" – Celeste said.

Celeste didn't care much, she at most wanted to have two or 3 more Pokémon, but they were special Pokemon that were not found in this area.

"The truth is that I do" – I nodded.

Then, I returned Butterfree to his Pokéball and the three of us set off to Pewter City, where I would fight Brock, Rock-type Gym leader and thanks to my Bulbasaur, I will be able to beat him with ease, or so I hope.
