Pointless Plunder

The planet "Earth" couldn't be considered the most advanced in the universe, it couldn't be considered the most cultured, and it definitely couldn't be considered the most spiritual. But, what if things went differently? What if there was a world where the single most important event to ever happen, happened differently? Earth, year 700, is what happens. The Greek Titan Prometheus previously gifted upon the humans of his creation one thing, fire. In a world not-so-similar to your own, things happened differently. Instead of fire, they were gifted magic. --- Book Cover is temporary. Contact Information: Business Email - re8start8@gmail.com

New World, New Me

'This really, really isn't good.'

That was all he could think at the moment.

After all, he had no idea where he was, and he didn't have any money. Well, it wasn't accurate to say he didn't have money, more so that what he did have isn't exactly worth anything.

People within iron armors, wizard robes, hunting gear, and horse-drawn carriages that littered the streets, none of it was normal. Well, more accurately, he wasn't normal.

'I'm sure this is one of those situations, right? One of those transported to another world-type deal?'

After taking the time to make this deduction and avoiding the stares of the people around him, the young man sighed. One couldn't call him handsome, and that was especially the case when he was feeling down. His sharp, blue-eyes were downcast, his blonde hair changed from a quiff into an eye-cover, and his jumper and dark jeans emitted an eerily depressing aura. To put it simply, he wasn't at his best.

So why was he so out of place?

Tobias Heart could be considered an ordinary kid. That is if you believe a boy at sixteen years of age to be a kid. At age twelve, everyone who knew Tobias considered him a prodigy. At fourteen, everyone who knew Tobias considered him a once-in-a-lifetime genius. At sixteen, those who knew of him considered him a disappointment.

After doing well for the majority of his life, boredom was eventually going to hit him sooner or later. The gods up above chose the former, and with boredom came lack of motivation. His previous genius became a tool to find more ways to laze about, and his title of prodigy merely became Tobias's defense.

Now, however, he was in a different place, a different world.

Being lazy wouldn't cut it, he no longer had the title of "prodigy," and he couldn't even find solace in the form of connections.

Having detached himself from the crowded streets and the many eyes leering about, Tobias found himself in a more scarcely populated alleyway, backside against a stair step.

"Assuming I've gone to a different world, shouldn't I first be gathering information...? Why am I sulking? Was my previous world something I'll truly miss?"

The answer to that question? "No."

Most would assume that they were in a dream had they been in Tobias's situation. Tobias did too; had he not tried to confirm his theory by slamming his head against a wall and pinching his cheek, he might still believe he was in a dream.

"At the very least, I'm sure I can communicate."

On his way to nowhere, Tobias had tried to eavesdrop on multiple conversations and could understand each of them.

Of the things he heard, the most useful was the fact that magic existed in this world. Being a teenage boy, of course, Tobias had dreamt of shooting a fireball or two out of his palms. So, not only did the news dawn some light on his dark situation, but it also made him a little anxious.

'Who's to say I can learn magic? I shouldn't get my hopes up just yet, for now, I should check out my starting gear.'

After going through his pockets, Tobias took note of his few belongings. A stick of gum, a bandaid, his smartphone (which didn't have a speck of charge, mind you), a twenty-dollar bill, and his cotton-made clothing.

"Where's my system?! I don't even get a Durandal or Excalibur?! This game is crap!"

There's only so much you can hope to do when you're suddenly brought to a different world on your way to your friend's house. That is if you're enthusiastic enough to "hope" in such a situation.

Having thought about his current situation, Tobias decided to make his way to the more populated streets to get some information on this new world.

"If I keep up this attitude it's no different than locking myself up in my room, with a new world should come a new me..."

I got 10 days to introduce the concept of a parallel world or else I'm out of this WPC, wish me luck!
