2 Rejection

'This is really, really not good,' was the exact thought that Tobias had when he first came to the new world, and now it has resurfaced full force.

"Hey kid, why are you in such a rush?"

Cliche or not, it was happening. An evil-seeming trio had pushed Tobias down before he could make his way into the active area of the city. In the middle was a malnourished teen, with white hair and a full-body tattoo, to his left and right were what Tobias dubbed "the useless, little one" and "the fat, strong one."

"Well, uh, I was just thinking that I should get back to my guards, they get worried about me very easily. Wouldn't want to be on their bad side... heh."

Of course, Tobias didn't have any guards. He had just arrived in this world, but his head wasn't empty enough to think he could fight against three people at the same time. In a new world, all you can do is bluff, so bluff he shall.

"So, you're saying your supposed guards aren't anywhere close right now?" the small one of the trio asked, his tone revealing his malicious nature.

The skinny guy who looked to be the leader of the group had seemed nervous at the thought of guards being nearby, allowing enthusiasm to radiate off of Tobias.

'But that little one had to ruin it... if we get in a fight I'm going for him first.'

Tobias's legs began to shake, and the trio's eyes gleamed when they noticed it. After all, Tobias had painted himself as a scared noble with no protection, easy pickings.

"If I told you that I was broke, didn't know where I was, and had a black belt in Krav Maga would you consider not robbing me or doing questionable things to my body?" Tobias asked.

"No."

"Nah."

"Er."

'Well then, using my slightly above average muscle mass and speed I'll take on three peopl— yeah no.'

Making use of his various lessons in all types of martial arts, Tobias used his most powerful move.

"Strategic withdrawal"; some would say he ran, others would say he lived to fight another day.

The trio gave chase and caught up.

Some would say Tobias was slow, others would say the trio was fast.

'Running didn't work... maybe praying to god will?'

"We caught up! You're dead for running!"

"Yeah! We'll do even more questionable things to your body!"

"Er."

Ignoring the heavy breaths all four of them were taking, Tobias clasped his hands together and began to speak.

"Dear Lord, thank you for this opportunity,"— Tobias got on his knees in the middle of speaking —"I know I am an atheist, but trust me when I say I need your help right now, please give me a world defying cheat so that I can take these three out!"

Silence. Drops of sweat making their way down Tobias's face. Laughter flooding out of the three thugs.

All of this was mute in comparison to the next thing that happened.

The previously dawn-lit world almost immediately went dark, not a single star, moon, or sun seen in the sky. This event was something that most residents of the world would understand, but not Tobias.

Confused, Tobias looked to the three thugs, of whom were wide-eyed.

"Blessing?!"

"Did his prayer actually work?!"

"Er."

'Not much information can be extracted from these three, what's a blessing?'

Soon after the thugs went wide-eyed, they all spread out and surrounded Tobias.

"We can't be near him, just in case." the white-haired one said, getting a nod out of the other two.

As if in response to their caution, the previously dark sky erupted in a display of lights. A netizen of Tobias's Earth would immediately conclude that someone was putting on a fireworks show, but Tobias knew better.

'They are suddenly scared of me? What's happening with the sky?'

Then it happened; one of the many lights within the sky raced down towards the ground, soon arriving in front of Tobias.

"Is this my cheat?" Tobias said.

At Tobias's command, his right hand thrust forward in an attempt to touch the light. Tobias's body brightened (literally), and the faces of the trio seemed to darken(metaphorically).

"This is bad!" they all said in unison.

After Tobias's hand arrived at the light, the world went back to normal.
