There were Marines scattered around in different directions and some had previously been chasing after the small group of Minks while others were rushing to save the civilians.
A large number of Marines were busy pulling injured and trapped people from the rubble.
There were many destroyed buildings and other things that had been hit by the explosions so the damage done had caused further human casualties.
There were a lot of people shouting or crying out for help or were busy mourning for those that were either dead, lost, trapped or injured.
"Where is my husband?!"
"My child.. my child?! He was in there too.. cough.. save him."
"No.. this cannot be.."
"Kyaa!"
The Marines were busy trying to save as many lives as possible and there was a small number of them that were blocking a crowd of people.
"Stand back."
"It is not safe here!"
"Please let me through.. my child is in there. I must get to her."
"I am sorry but it is not safe. We will do what we can."
They continued to hold the crowd back as the others moved away the rubble and pulled out the living or already dead bodies that they could find.
A captain ranked Marine who was directing them had suddenly looked towards the sky and his eyes widened. "Strange weather.. no this does not look good. Everyone! Get everyone we can away from that part of the city that is underneath those clouds!"
"Yes sir!"
"I want as few casualties as possible! Move out!"
"Yes sir!"
The clouds above had a large amount of electrical energy gathered which was building up to become more powerful with each passing moment that it looked like a large amount of lightning would fall down very soon.
The Marines moved quickly to evacuate anyone that they found within the area and told others to get to a safe location.
The energy became more chaotic and powerful until the first bolt had come down from the clouds above followed by many more that just kept coming down one after another.
The thunder had been very loud as deafening noises accompanied the flashes of lightning and the destruction that followed.
Chaos and destruction had descended and it had attracted the attention of those that were fighting at the port which caused them to momentarily lose their focus.
The ship had been able to get the sails up and was no longer tied up to the port so it had started to slowly drift away from the port.
Just as a little distance had been put between the port and the ship, a small figure had leapt across that gap and landed on the deck of the ship. "Set sail!"
The Marines that were opening fire upon the ship previously had suddenly yelled out as they fell down to the ground just as Pixel landed on the ship.
"Argh.."
"Gyaa!"
"Kuh!"
"Yaaa!"
Pixel had passed by them very quickly and touched each of them once which followed with them being stunned by an electrical shock.
Her movements were so fast and they were so busy with trying to stop the ship from leaving that they were unable to put up a fight against her or notice her before it was too late.
"Let's get out of here!"
The ship had sailed further out but it was not long before the Marines had started to recover and more had gathered at the port.
"Do not let them get away!"
"Catch those criminals!"
"Did anyone get a picture of any of them?"
"Request for aid immediately!"
It became clear to Pixel once she had gotten so far on the ship that those on board were all far too inexperienced and barely knew what they were doing.
The ship was not sailing to the best of its capabilities and it was not exactly the best ship that could have been taken so its performance was not that good on the water.
The only upside was that it was smaller than some other ships so it did not require as much attention as others to do what was needed to get it going the way the crew wanted.
It was not too big but it was not too small that it was too crowded for each of them so they were all able to move around to complete different tasks one after another without running into each other.
Pixel had stood on the deck of the ship as she watched the others busy running around and then reached towards a small pouch that was inside a small bag on her waist. "Hah.."
The pouch was opened and a small piece of paper was taken out that rested on her palm. "Now which way do we go?"
She knew that they all needed to make it back to Zou so that others could be informed of what had happened on the island so that something could be done about it.
Luckily she had been given a piece of Vivre Card by Catviper so that she could find her way back to Zou if she ever ran into any trouble out in the world.
Rufus and other adults had mainly been the ones to hold onto such things so that they could manage them for everyone to return to Zou once they were done with everything on the island but they did not expect to encounter what they did.
If the Glutt family had expected such things then they would have never guessed that Pixel had been given such a things and that she could return to Zou.
