33. The Show II

"Y...You...How dare you?" Tang Wen yelled as he stood up glaring at RuQian. The rest of the people present also glanced at RuQian, eyes widened, shock written all over their faces. That was when Director Tan realised something.

"You are a kid? How old are you, miss?" He turned towards RuQian questioningly.

"Well if fifteen year olds are still considered as kids, I am one." RuQian glanced at director Tan from the corner of her eyes. Again everyone in the room stared at RuQian shocked. This woman was a high school girl? How was that possible? Now they were even more doubtful if she was the right person for the job.

"Oh! Are you sure you can even model?" One of the executives asked.

RuQian quietly handed the folder of her portfolio to Director Tan who was beside her. Director Tan took the folder. RuQian did not even glance at anyone, it was like she was sitting in her living room at her house, she was that comfortable.

Director Tan opened the folder slowly but when he saw the first picture inside his eyes widened, his mouth dropped open, he sat there dazed as he stared at the folder and it was still the first picture. He could not even get himself to move. The rest of the people in the room though, missed this reaction of his.

"How dare you slander my granddaughter? You are just a bitch." Tang Wen finished what he could not earlier.

"Mr Tang you should watch your language!" Ren Wei warned sternly. Everyone in the room could clearly hear the warning in his voice. Ren Wei never spoke even a word without the boss's instructions, this was the first time he directly spoke without a prompt from the boss. Tang Wen gritted his teeth but it was clear this girl had the CEO's support, so he stopped himself.

"Well, seeing as you are still a little girl, you would not know anything about modelling." Another executive tried to ease the atmosphere.

"That's right, you should leave now girl." Zhen Lu Tei said wanting her to get out of there.

Contrary to the agitated members, RuQian had her eyes closed, she was the embodiment of tranquil.

RuQian was thinking about how she was not able to sleep well the night before. She had woken up at midnight because of her nightmare and she was not able to go back to sleep how much ever she had tried. RuQian yawned feeling sleepy, she was bored here and wanted to go sleep. This meeting was dragging on for too long, she should finish it now.

The employees though, when they saw RuQian yawning, they were more angered and started yelling at her to leave. This was when Director Tan came out of his dream land and went through all the pictures in the folder, he tried to say something but he could not find his voice.

This girl, no this woman was too good. He had never seen a model this good. Their company would definitely have more customers if she was their model, he could not lose this opportunity of being able to work with her. Someone this good would become a top model, he had to use this chance to work with her.

RuQian had had enough, she handed Ren Wei a pen drive, he quietly took it, he turned towards boss seeking his permission. Grandfather Zhang glanced at RuQian who had closed her eyes after handing the drive, she was calm and collected and it looked like she was sure she would get this work, so he gestured Ren Wei to connect the drive.

Ren Wei connected the usb to the computer and played the projector in the room. When he opened the file, he saw there were nine pictures in it, he opened the first one. Suddenly, the room turned silent. Every person in the room was staring at the picture astounded.

There was a girl in a white dress in the picture, holding onto the straps of her backpack. She looked a little sad, it looked like she did not want to go to the school. Her eyes were downcast. Even when she looked so sad, she was a pretty girl.

Grandfather Zhang also stared at the picture, he had no idea that Xiao Qian had prepared something like this, no wonder she was so relaxed. Ren Wei came back to his senses and opened the next picture.

The girl in the picture was now walking a bike, she was on a road on a lakeside. There were two little kids playing nearby with bubble guns, blowing soap bubbles. The girl looked longingly towards them, the expression on her face said it all, she wanted to enjoy like the two kids but it was like she was being held back by something.

This was how girls her age would feel, they would want to enjoy their life but they were bound by their studies, to learn sports or music, dance or other activities. Kids were never given the time to just let go and play to their hearts content. The girl showed all this very clearly.

The next picture showed the girl was now playing with the bubbles along with the kids, a fallen bike and a backpack on the road behind her, a huge smile on her face. This face showed true happiness, the childishness and the gratified glint in her eyes.

The girl was beautiful even before but with a beaming smile she was exceptional. They never thought this kind of beauty existed but one was sitting in the same room as them. RuQian still had her eyes closed, she was feeling too sleepy to care about the rest of them in the room.

The next picture was of a different setting and it was no girl in this picture. This was a woman.
