28. Grey Eyes

The next day was when Amy found out that RuQian was actually the Zhang family's only granddaughter she thought to herself 'no wonder she was able to rent out those locations.' But when Amy remembered Wan Wan accusing RuQian of stealing and being poor she laughed to herself. RuQian being poor was the biggest joke she had ever heard.

Amy personally saw how much grandfather Zhang doted on his precious granddaughter. Amy and RuQian had woken up a little late that day and caught grandfather Zhang just as he was leaving for work. Amy had slept through the night as she was tired the day before. As for RuQian she was awake for only an hour during dawn and she drifted back to sleep.

After breakfast they sat down to inspect the pictures. Each and every picture was perfect. Amy's eyes lit up with admiration for RuQian. Even though she was not in the business, she clearly knew, each and every shot a model takes being perfect all the time was nearly impossible. Only internationally famous models had the capability. RuQian was a piece of diamond and Amy was honoured to be able to work with her. She hoped to be able to work with RuQian in the future as well.

Amy was sure RuQian would reach the international level if she continued like this but RuQian had told her that acting was her dream. She would still do modelling but that would not be her main point of focus.

After selecting the pictures they felt would depict the story in the best possible light, RuQian had them developed. She started organising her portfolio. She still had a week for the meeting. That day RuQian called Lan Xie for lunch. Together with Amy the three of them had lunch at a nearby restaurant.

Diamond palace was a high end restaurant where not just anyone was welcome. The two figures entered the restaurant, RuQian handed the receptionist a golden card with her name on it. The receptionist led them to a table on the side. Lan Xie had not yet arrived so they just ordered some drinks.

Amy felt uncomfortable, she had never dined at a restaurant of this calibre.

"Stop fretting. No one here cares where you are from. Just think of this as a normal cafe and you will be fine." RuQian said while glancing at Amy's sweat covered palms.

"Yo Qian Qian." Lan Xie yelled loudly from the entrance. Everyone present in the restaurant turned to look at the unruly person but shut their mouths when they saw it was the Lan princess. They knew very well how much Father Lan doted on this princess.

No one even in the elite families dared to say anything to her and providing Mother Lan's background even elite families stayed out of their way. Lan Xie did not see her cousin who was having a business meeting just two tables away from where RuQian was seated. Because the table was concealed from the rest of the restaurant, no one saw the regal man nearby.

Along with the rest of the people present in the restaurant he also heard Lan Xie's voice. He only knew the girl because even his own parents doted on Lan Xie a lot. He turned towards the person Lan Xie was addressing to see a very beautiful woman in a peach coloured gown which stopped above her knees paired with a brown leather fringed coat and brown boots sitting at the nearby table.

His grey eyes shifted a little but there was no change in his expression otherwise. The woman looked very elegant, maybe about his age, 27, but he did not understand how his cousin who was a high school girl knew this woman. He ignored his slight curiosity to ask his cousin about her, he had a meeting to finish anyways.

Lan Xie sat down beside RuQian, "Qian Qian I also wanted to be at your photoshoot, why did you not tell me where you were shooting? I would have given you major pointers with your dresses."

"That's why you nagged me to bring you the photos, here see for yourself."

"Hmph, if I don't approve of them you will have to shoot again." RuQian and Amy exchanged a look when they heard Lan Xie. They did not have the energy to do this again.

Lan Xie opened the folder and gasped. She slowly went through each and every picture till the last one and stood up hastily, making the chair fall in the process. The chair fell down with a loud thud attracting everyone's attention once again, "Qian Qian are you sure you are the same age as me? How do you look this different?"

RuQian had a hand beneath her chin, she calmly raised her eyes and glanced at Lan Xie, "Why don't you sit down first?" RuQian's gentle voice pierced the silent atmosphere. Every person in the restaurant heard her sweet, tinkle like voice. Their hearts thudded slightly when they heard what Lan Xie said just now, they stared at the beautiful woman NO the girl. Is this really a teenager, was the question everyone had in mind.

Lan Xie sat down after a waiter picked her chair up. She turned towards Qian Qian with raised eyebrows as if waiting for her to answer. RuQian seeing her friends curiosity gave a light chuckle which again captured everyone's heart. Slowly they returned to their food.

"It's just clothes and makeup Lan Xie, what else do you think?"

"Still Qian Qian, you look so beautiful. You should dress like this from now on." Lan Xie said with wide eyes.

RuQian raised an eyebrow, "You want me to wear party dresses everyday?"

"No, no the white dress which you wore. That one! You have never worn lace dresses before."

RuQian nodded her head, "I feel they are too revealing."

"Nonsense, what revealing? Look how beautiful you are. How can you say such a disgraceful thing Qian Qian?"

"Disgraceful?" She tilted her head to the side.

The trio had finished their food by this time and left as Amy and Lan Xie kept telling how beautiful RuQian was in the pictures, they forgot the folder on the table. A graceful hand wearing a dark grey suit, white shirt with diamond cufflinks picked the folder up. The grey eyes widened when they saw how gorgeous and sexy the woman in the photos was. He called a waiter and told him to hand it over to the trio that just left and to not mention him.

His thin lips curved slightly when he saw the woman through the glass window accept the folder gracefully.

"Interesting." His deep voice murmured.
