29. Wishful Thinking

In a dark study a man's face was lit by the computer light in front of him. A knock sounded on the door and a man slightly older than the grey eyed man entered the room carrying a folder in his arms. The assistant handed the folder to the man sitting behind the African black wood desk, but the man did not take it. Understanding his boss's aversion to reading reports the assistant started reading out everything he found.

"Name: Su RuQian, Age: 15, Best friend and classmate of your cousin, Lan Xie, Father: Su Ting, owner of Su Conglomerate, Mother: Zhang LiQian, died five years ago due to internal organ failure, Grandfather: Zhang Wennai, Garndmother..."

"Zhang Xie, my idol." The grey eyed man interrupted his assistant. 'So she is her granddaughter? This will be fun.' He smirked.

The assistant continued to report about RuQian. They had not dug any deeper, just basic information about her was relayed. "Boss, the Zhang patriarch had sent you an invitation for his granddaughter's birthday, you had declined. Do you still want to...."

"Accept it. And also tell the old man to keep my arrival a secret. I don't want to deal with unwanted flies." The grey eyed man nonchalantly replied and swung his hand telling the assistant to scram.

"Yes boss." The assistant left, he was familiar with his boss's attitude, in fact he got a much better treatment than the rest of his employees. The boss did not care for anyone, not even his own family. As long as he had known boss, the only person who his boss had an admiration for and loved was already dead. After his death, boss had become a cold stone who neither cared about himself nor others. He did protect his family but that was the extent of it.

RuQian slept unknowingly that her fate started to take a major turn from that day onwards. Her photoshoot which she thought would pave a path for her career would change her life entirely just because she had forgotten her portfolio on a restaurant table and a man whom she never thought she would see again would become the centre of that change.

RuQian went back to school from the next day. It was usually just her and Lan Xie but Amy also joined them from that day. Amy had told RuQian that she always thought RuQian was pampered so she never approached them.

RuQian did not feel offended because that was the truth. The only reason she had changed was because she was reborn or else she would have behaved how she did in her past life.

RuQian wanted the next few days to be peaceful but she found out it was just her wishful thinking!

RuQian heard that rumours had been spreading about RuQian and Chang Min having spent a night together and that RuQian had gotten pregnant and that this was the reason she had not come to school for the past few weeks. Moreover the rumours claimed Chang Min to be completely innocent, RuQian was the one who drugged him so he had no choice but to relieve himself.

When Amy told RuQian about these rumours RuQian could not control her laughter. This was too funny. Amy did not know about the kidnapping incident but as much as she had known Qian Qian in the past couple of weeks, she was sure RuQian would not do such things. Lan Xie was burning with rage while RuQian was busy laughing.

"That swine! How dare they spread these rumours after abducting you?"

"Abducting!?" Amy was shocked when she heard Lan Xie. Lan Xie then explained everything that had happened to Amy. Amy was dumbfounded that RuQian had to go through so much and here these kind of rumours were spread about her.

What the trio did not know was that a certain grey eyed man was furious when he found out about the rumour and the abduction. Chang Min and C Tech company's doom was nearing. They had offended the wrong person this time!

"Qian Qian, shouldn't you clear these rumours?" Amy was worried her reputation would be spoilt.

"I would need a grand stage to do that." RuQian smirked. Her friends did not understand what she meant but a certain grey eyed man watching the video sent by his hackers smirked when he heard RuQian. 'Looks like there will be a good show at her birthday party.' He wanted to see how she would deal with these pests.

As soon as he heard his cousin talking about the abduction he had told his assistant he wanted an in depth investigation. That was when he found out about Lu Xu Mei and her being the illegitimate daughter, that RuQian believed her father more than her grandfather. But in the past few months she had never gone back to her father. So did she find out about her father's affair? He could not understand.

And when he saw the details he was a little shocked, RuQian had abruptly changed and no one knew the reason as to why the change happened. He became more curious about her, he wanted to know everything about her. But it had to wait, she was still a teenage girl. He vowed to be there for her from now on, even if it was behind the scenes, he would protect her.

RuQian was unaware of the fact that this conversation was being viewed by the most richest man in the country and that she had taken a special place in his heart which even he had not noticed yet.
