22. No Evidence

Lan Xie tried to coax RuQian to sleep, but even after an hour RuQian was wide awake, so they started talking. RuQian recounted the whole incident of her abduction.

"What? That tiger bastard tried to do what? I am going to kick his nuts when I see him." Lan Xie burst out in anger.

"Lan Xie, not so loud or else grandfather wil..."

The doors of her bedroom burst open and a very dishevelled looking old man ran into the room. It looked like her grandfather had not slept the night before. RuQian felt very ashamed after taking in her grandfather's appearance. It was her fault that she had not been careful with her safety and here grandfather had been worried sick about her.

RuQian wondered what had happened. In her past life she never saw what happened to him after she died. One afternoon of her disappearance and he was like this, she could not even begin to think about how mournful he would have been. First he had lost his wife, then his daughter and then his granddaughter. And all these deaths were on the same person. Su Ting! Her grandfather had doubts that Su Ting had killed his wife but she was sure about her mother being killed by him. About her grandmother, she still had to find some evidence.

"Xiao Qian, how are you feeling? Does it hurt anywhere? Let me call the doctor. He will check you. You must be hungry, right? I will tell butler Wong to cook some soup for you."

"Grandfather, I am fine. I already ate some soup so I don't feel hungry now. The bruises do hurt a little and my body does feel a little weak but after some rest and eating nutritious food I will feel better. Please don't worry too much. I am fine."

"What do you mean you are fine? You were abducted, we did not even know where you were for so long and when you came back you were bruised up and on top of that you were unconscious, UNCONSCIOUS! Do you know how scared I was Xiao Qian?" Her grandfather pulled her into a hug. RuQian had to blink away the tears that were threatening to spill. She had hugged her grandfather so many years back that she did not even remember how long ago it was. But she could still recognize that familiar warmth.

After she was insulted in front of a whole crowd in her past life, RuQian hated any and all kind of physical touch, although she did still have her needs as a woman, *Cough Cough*. RuQian never got close to anyone physically who held an emotional value to her. So her grandfather and Lan Xie were the ones who had to bear the brunt of her decision. It was particularly difficult for Lan Xie as she was a very physical person, especially when the person in question was RuQian.

This was when RuQian remembered, someone had brought her back, she asked Lan Xie about it and saw her make a sour face. "That Chang asshole brought you. Do you know what his stupid excuse was? He said he just found you in a warehouse. Hah!"

RuQian peeked at her grandfather's face to study his expression but he did not show any. RuQian was worried, she did not want her grandfather to fall into the trap set by Su Ting, but she did not want to reveal she knew of Su Ting's true colours. She would not be able to explain her sudden dislike towards him. "He is surely lying. The place I was kept in was a very deserted place, he could not have just found me."

"I knew it. Chang Min must have known you were there from the start but how would he know if he was not the one who abducted you? So Chang Min abducted you? I am going to skin him alive..."

"Lan Xie we can not just go and accuse someone of abduction."

"But he was the one who did that. Qian Qian, how are you this calm?"

RuQian sighed as she explained, "Lan Xie, we can only speculate that Chang Min had a hand in my abduction, other than that we have no proof or evidence of his crime, so how can we say something like that?"

RuQian did not want to talk about all this anymore. She felt useless because she was not able to do anything but she vowed to take her revenge. 'It's fine. Isn't revenge a dish best served cold? I will make them regret ever crossing me.'
