21 21. Rescued?

Lan Xie kept glaring at Chang Min knowing he never had any good intentions of saving RuQian. Grandpa Zhang almost ran into the living room to find RuQian passed out on the couch. He then glanced at the boy who was standing at the foot of the couch. And when grandpa Zhang saw how Lan Xie was glaring at the boy, he realized this boy might not be good news.

"Boy who are you? " Chang Min straightened up and introduced himself.

"Grandpa Zhang, my name is Chang Min, I am a very good friend of Qian Qian." Lan Xie snickered at the side. Grandpa Zhang knew this boy was lying.

"Even my own granddaughter does not call me grandpa, what makes you think you are allowed to do so? " So this boy was that C Tech, Chang fellows son?

Chang Min awkwardly shifted from side to side. How come this grandfather granddaughter duo were so similar. The first sentence they said was also the same! Grandpa Zhang immediately called the family doctor to check up on RuQian. She had bruises on her forehead, jaw and leg. Other than being a little malnourished she was fine, she just needed some rest. Lan Xie asked him whether he believed the story Chang Min weaved. Grandpa Zhang shook his head, "Xiao Xie, I had my best people looking for Xiao Qian and I also took help from others I knew and even then I was not able to find her. Why would I believe a boy the same age as my granddaughter had the power to find her? I can confidently say he was lying but we don't know the reason yet. Let's wait for Xiao Qian to wake up, then we will know more."

Lan Xie stayed back the night wanting to be with RuQian. At night RuQian finally woke up, seeing the dark room she thought she was still being held captive but this time she felt warmth all around her. She glanced down to see she was covered in a blanket and that she was atop a bed. She turned her head and found Lan Xie sleeping soundly beside her. 'Oh so I was rescued?'

RuQian slowly sat up and went into the bathroom. She checked her face in the mirror to see several black and purple bruises, her left leg hurt when she tried to walk. She felt very grimy so she took a shower, then changed into her pajamas and went downstairs. RuQian entered the kitchen and made herself some tomato soup, which was the quickest to make, sat down at the dining table to eat. After finishing her soup she went back to her room and saw that there were some painkillers on her side table. She took the medicine and went back to sleep.

At the break of dawn RuQian woke up with a start and realized she was once again covered in sweat. Lan Xie awoke by the movement beside her, "Hmm? Qian Qian you're awake? How are you feeling? Were you scared that you were still kidnapped? "

RuQian could not say that it was because of the nightmare of when she died, was the reason she woke up so she kept quiet.

She wondered if she would ever have a peaceful night of sleep.
