'The Rising...'
'I don't have time to block it!' Oliver realized as it soared towards him. 'Am I gonna... Die-'
"This is the greatest plan!" A massive sonic boom went off followed by two bodies that flew forward right as the lighting was about to hit Oliver.
The lighting hit the two bodies, causing Davi, and Athena, to drop out of the sky and crash into the ground lighting covering them both...
"Oww..." They both groaned.
"What the hell!" Oliver and the Fake Grimval said in shock.
"Who the hell are they?" Grimval hissed out as he stared at the two teens who were shaking on the ground.
"That was perfect timing." Oliver said with wide eyes. "A second later and I would have been a goner for sure! Those suckers saved my life!"
"Oww..." Davi groaned as he rolled over. Small flickers of blue lightning still covered his body as he shook. "That hurt... Like a lot. Like a lot, a lot... Ouch..."
"I'm in a lot of pain..." Athena said as stars formed above her head. "I didn't absorb it in time... Who knew lightning hurt." She coughed groaning out in pain. "Get him Lion!" She made an attempt to throw her stuffed toy but slipped on Davi falling and hitting her head on the stone cracking it. "Oww...'
"Dumbass." Davi muttered.
"Shut up."
"No you shut up."
"Those damn brats actually blocked my lighting blitz wave! It was more than enough to kill a normal Wizard in a single blast... No. Not just kill a wizard. It would reduce any normal person down to ash in seconds! They shouldn't even be breathing! They must have lucked out somehow!" The Not Grimval hissed out raising his hand. "I'll just recast it and blast that damn time brat straight into-"
Oliver grabbed his sword raising it above his head and once more slashing it out and sending out a wave of grey time energy. It sliced into a building as it became grey and aged breaking apart and falling. "Arking Time!" Oliver announced as loud as he could yelling it up to the heavens. The entire building aged as it snapped off and fell towards the fake Grimval causing his eyes to go wide as it dropped towards him.
Grimval stared up at the large rock as it dropped towards him at a fast speed. "Oh... Oh sh-"
It broke away and slammed into the faker, knocking him out in one blow before he could even react. He rested under the large rock not moving at all. He was completely out of the fight.
"I... I actually did it! I actually managed to beat someone! And I only needed to use one spell! Wow! I can't believe it! I knew my dad was wrong when he said I was an utter failure and would never achieve anything good in life, and might as well off myself!" Oliver said in shock as his eyes went wide and filled with excitement. "Guys did anyone see how cool I was-" His smile dropped as he looked around and realized everyone had already left once the fighting began. "Oh..." He said giving a sad smile and a small hiss. "I guess nobody cared... Darn. I bet I looked so cool too..." His dog let out a small yawn as it stayed on his head still resting in its normal spot as if nothing happened. "Oh well." Oliver spun his rusty sword around sheathing the blade as he let out a sigh. "Maybe next time?"
A low groan echoed out reminding Oliver of the fact that two other people were on the ground in front of him. The two that had saved his life in fact. Both of them were still on the ground not moving and only let out loud groans of pain showing they were still alive.
He walked over to them holding her hand out to Davi. "Hey, thanks for saving me back there." He smiled. "I think that would have killed me if it would have actually hit me so thanks for that I guess?"
Davi slowly took the hand and pulled himself up as he scratched the back of his head. "Believe me... It wasn't on purpose... That really, really, really, freaking hurt..." He said making a bit of a face. "Geez. His lighting sucked... Still... It's not the first time I've had a bolt of lightning dropped on me so silver lining I guess?"
"How is that a silver lining? And what do you mean that isn't the first time!" Oliver asked in a concerned voice moving away from the strange boy.
"Yo Dawn. How you doing?" Davi asked raising his hand up and waving it towards the still downed girl.
"I had no idea lighting could hurt so bad... Still wasn't like anything like dads, but still..." Athena frowned hugging her red lion closer to her chest. "That really hurt..." She groaned. "Is that what I've been doing to people." She reached up pulling Davi's sunglasses off of his head as she slipped them on in order to block the light which was beginning to hurt...
"Well... Still. Thank you?" Oliver looked the strange boy, and girl up and down for a moment. "Are you two new here? I mean I've only been here for about a month, but I swear I haven't seen you two at all? Although... You both look kind of familiar? I swear I've seen one of you before? Maybe even both?"
"I don't know where you would have seen us?" Davi shrugged. He reached down wrapping his hand around Athena and finally dragging her back up to her feet.
"We are new to this city." Athena said slowly standing up thanks to the help of Davi. "We're just stopping by, we actually have business a few towns over so this was just a quick stop on our way over there. We heard a few rumor's that my dad could be here and wanted to check it out just in case. Although sadly I don't think he is here. We'd have likely run into him by now."
"Your dad?" Oliver questioned cocking his head to the side in a cute manner. "Is he missing or something?"
Davi let out a sheepish laugh and gave a shrug. "Yeah, it's kind of a long story, like a really long story... You see Dawn here has a bit of a missing father situation. Her and I both have need of some information her father knows about so we set out to find him! She wants some answers and I want something her father had." Davi shrugged. "We haven't had much luck though... Nearly died a few times too. Like that lightning creep who zapped us. Oh well. That's life for ya. Ya die and then that's it. Nothing. Just darkness. It's terrifying. And then everyone forgets you. Nothing... Then your corpse is eaten by worms and you slowly break down into nothingness... It's scary. And it's all true-"
Athena sighed as she hit her friend over the head with her stuffed red lion toy. "Don't talk like that. You're gonna scare the new boy away?"
"I am not. You're not scared are you?" Davi asked turning to look at Oliver who let out a small gulp when he realized the two weirdos were staring at him now.
"Uhh... Maybe a little." Oliver admitted sheepishly. He gulped slightly stepping away from the two and putting some distance in between them. "I don't really like talking to strangers..." He said sheepishly as he scratched his head. "And you two are kind of sort of weird..."
"I'm not a stranger. I'm just weird. My names Davi Hawker!" Davi announced.
"He was already calling you weird." Athena said hitting Davi over the head.
"Shut up Dawn."
"Hawker... As in Hawk?" Oliver mumbled under his breath. "I feel like I heard that name before but I can't put my finger on it exactly-"
"And I'm Athena Dawn," Artemis said smiling and giving a nod. "You'll need to forgive my friend. He's a bit weird." She placed the lion back on her head wearing it like a hat, just like a normal person does.
"Oh umm, different last names?" Oliver asked taken aback. 'I feel like I heard the name Dawn too... Isn't that the name of-' He wondered.
"Oh we aren't actually siblings." Davi said. "We are kind of close I guess so we're like siblings in a way?"
"Okay..." Oliver said slowly backing away from the two strangers. "Well... Thanks again for saving me but this is starting to get a little weird so if you don't mind I think I'm just gonna... Leave okay?"
"Wait you never told us your name?" Davi asked. "Or the name of that cool dog. By the way why is there a dog with black fur, and demonic red eyes? It's like a hell hound? It looks cool at the very least?"
"Oh, I'm Oliver L- Uh... Oliver Walker. Just Oliver who walks so Oliver Walker. Yep. And this is my pet dog Jakey. He's kind of cool. Not sure why he has blue fur though?" Oliver said holding the black wolf like dog up. Athena held her Lion plushie up making the two creatures, one living, and one stuffed, meet eyes. They stared each other for a few moments each trying to assert dominance on the other. Being a living creature and not a stuffed toy, the dog of course won.
"Cool doggo," Athena said, poking it slightly. "It's all black and stuff? What does it have magic or something? Can it talk or do anything magical?" She joked.
"It barks a lot, and requires a lot of food and attention?" Oliver shrugged. Jakey let out a bark and began to lick Athena's cheeks making her let out a laugh and pet the beast.
Davi folded his arms as he stared at the rabbit. "Weird... My mother told me stories about a great black beast with six eyes but I can't remember any of them... Something about eating a King or something?"
"Ha. Animals don't eat people. People eat animals." Athena laughed.
"You're an idiot."
"A cute idiot?"
"No. Just an idiot. I hate the fact that we're friends. I wake up everyday and wish we weren't."
"Oh... Now I'm just sad..."
"Good."
"Right..." Oliver turned away from the two weirdos and began to walk away slowly. "I need to go..." He said causally. They were starting to weird him out. Oliver walked a few feet away but stopped when he heard footsteps behind him. His eye twitched and he let out a sigh and slowly turned around seeing them both following after him. "W... Why are you two following me?"
"Oh uhh? We don't have anywhere to go. We just got here." Davi laughed. "So... You know... Feed us."
"W... What?"
"We saved your life by accident. That deserves a reward. I'm not running a charity. I wanna be rewarded!" Athena announced. "We don't do things for free!" Athena said loudly pointing at Oliver who backed up.
"That's right!" Davi announced. "Pay up! We accept payment in food by the way so you can buy us lunch in order to pay us back." Oliver shivered slightly when he saw Davi's many rows of shark like teeth that looked like they could bite through anything.
"I... I..." Oliver let out a sigh. He reached into his bag for a moment feeling it was full of coins. "Alright. How about this. You guys did save me earlier so how about I buy us lunch? On me? I still have some money since I didn't buy that cool sword... Even if it is cool looking and strong and powerful and able to do high level spells and way better than my dumb rusty sword... "
"Yay food!"
"And then after you'll both leave me alone right?" Oliver asked staring at the two weirdos.
"Food!"
"Gods I hope that's a yes..." Oliver sighed as Jakey let out another bark.
