From The Lotus Sect

The warm giggles of him reverberated throughout the room, the prince stared at his mom. Even though a mere newborn had just been born in a week and couldn't have the control to fully smile, the baby in front of her, with eyes as round as the moon, smiled at her. Squinting his eyes and stretching his hand.

Despite the turbulence inside her, her hand that stopped midair slowly drooped down, while she was in the middle of turmoil, the newborn tried to reach within his limit and weakly held onto her middle finger.

In that instant, the mother was taken aback, returning from her conscious state, she returned the gaze.

His son held on dearly to her big palms, pupils dilating at the mere sight of a bigger hand than his. His attention suddenly averted, and those round eyes turned even more circle as he scrutinized the palm in curiosity.

The Queen couldn't feel anything aside from the frail and dainty petite hands of the newborn, clutching innocently. The warmth from the center of his palm was barely there, but the Mother knew it was her son.

Right after that night, The Queen couldn't just sit still, and he told her husband first thing in the morning. The King was also astounded. He too, couldn't discern whether it was wrong or something close to the word miracle.

Behind the Royal Family's closed doors, they didn't tell anyone and announced that the prince fell sick on the day after the celebration. Temporarily closing the doors from the blessings for the prince, The King commanded his servants to send a letter to the Lotus Sect, the home of the medicines, where the greatest physician in the world also resided.

The physician arrived within an instant and told him about the prince.

But after weeks of observation, nothing serious happened, aside from he can talk without hindrance, speaking accurately in front of his parents, and surprising the doctor.

It goes on and on, in the meantime, he became the prince's doctor and attend to him to check up on his vitals every week. And it all came out the same, they still received nothing. On the other hand, The Queen and The King were, day by day slowly breathing with ease, their past worries were gradually dying down. Because it was already proven that their son was born with the miracle of stars aligning, everyone thought of that, or most likely believe in them that the newborn prince was fated to exceed the boundless and bring about blessings to the Mount of Sinia.

Of course, they would believe the easiest thing to believe, they will believe what they wanted to believe, not the other way around.

And that day had come, where miracles weren't always about good things.

One month since the physician came, something different happened. That is no doubt no one had ever expected him to say.

No medicines or instructions were jotted down on the physician's blank paper from the first day. While staring at the prince with his wide-open eyes, he turned around and spoke to The King.

"I was supposed to leave after this day since we'd concluded that nothing was wrong or anything. But, Your Majesty, please…please forgive me for what I am about to instruct you this time." The sentence was out of the ordinary compared to the past few days, and coming into the chamber for the last day, her wife had thought it's useless to check on his son for another day, but the physician insisted, so he roamed with her husband. Although one month had passed in this treatment, the physician only uttered one sentence since the first day.

"Nothing wrong in his vitals, I couldn't understand, but we can rest assured."

But only after that, did he know he was guilty of one thing: he could have added the two words.

"For now."

Sweats bidding on The King's forehead, because unlike today the physician was strange in his demeanor and feared that the words he uttered back then will change.

He stared at him, lips pressed in a thin line, looking at the torn paper from the doctor's blank medical book.

The physician hand it over to him, eyes closed and jaw clenched tight.

From the back of The King, his hands clasped together behind, forming a signal to the palace maid waiting at the door. The palace maid widened her eyes and silently turned around to leave both of them inside.

The closing of the door was like a rumble of thunder crashing at the suffocating silence.

The King drew out his hand from his sleeve and took the oil paper. Few letters were already written on it.

He had purposely instructed the palace maid to assist them in the room and reminded her to call the palace guards with his signal. Because in the first place, The Royal Family had originally commanded the doctor to return after checking the prince's condition and vitals, and thus his purpose was no longer needed, but the physician persisted to become the prince's doctor for a reason of 'to discern something I couldn't understand.'

Coming from the Land of Medicine, and the greatest doctor in the mortal realm, The Royal Family trusted him and keep him in the Palace for the sake of the prince too.

But who could've known, after days of perceiving nothing, exactly the last day of the prince's treatment, on the spur of the moment, the course suddenly changed its path.

He noticed the physician was reserved and silent the whole day, seemingly planning something unknown within his head was the first thing that came onto The King's instincts.

Determined to be the prince's doctor despite his orders of dismissing.

The King had learned the person in front of him wasn't just a nobody, or a doctor who came out of nowhere, but a physician and a half cultivator who has a mind close to a Deity.

If he set his mind to plan on something, like how he planned to finish his creations, he wouldn't just give up on it.

The King gulped slightly, looking back and forth to the person's face and the paper in front of him.

However, the physician hadn't moved any muscle, but The King saw his refined demeanor looked as if he was dumped by a cold dam of water. Thoughts creeping up through his spine, he said the words loudly.

"Born in the night of the moon basking in blood, one thing left to do was to return its wickedness to the creature: Ex… Execution?!"
