Chapter 8 I am Back!

"I am back!"

Those were the last words Lu Yang said before succumbing to darkness.

As he loses consciousness, the security personnel who came over after being called immediately took action after seeing the situation at hand.

Although they were just guards stationed at the building, they were sufficiently trained by the security company to respond to any possible situation.

As such, they quickly called over the walky-talky, asking the security office to have someone bring over a stretcher bed. It is much easier and safer for them to move an unconscious person using the stretcher bed.

After understanding the situation from the people in the room and being informed that the ambulance had been called, they immediately brought Lu Yang to the ground floor.

Given the distance from the nearest emergency response unit and traffic conditions, an ambulance was expected to arrive within 5 minutes.

Lu Yan was quickly escorted to the ground lobby. Their actions immediately attracted the attention of onlookers. Coupled with the discussion over the mysterious blinding light, they were guess-guessing what had happened.

Some people familiar with the company staff and security personnel came over asking about the situation.

Knowing that Lu Yang had unexplainably fainted in agony and pain just after the blinding light caused slight panic among them. But they comforted themself soon since they had not experienced the same thing.

Nevertheless, they made a mental note to go to the hospital for a proper checkup later to avoid any eventuality.

Soon, the ambulance arrived on time. Lu Yang was quickly sent to the hospital.

At this moment, the nurse back in the Astra RC community finally contacted Lu Yang. As the contact person listed in the family records, Lu Yang was also the person they needed to get in touch with in emergencies.

Even without Grandma Ann's request, they will contact Lu Yang later after they send Seline to the hospital.

As the nurse waited for her call to be answered, the phone kept ringing without anyone answering.

When she was wondering whether the husband was busy or whether she needed to wait before calling back again, someone picked up the call from over there.

"Hello. Is this the husband of Mrs Seline, Mr Lu Yang?" she asked.

"Hello, madam. Are you the wife of Mr Lu Yang, the patient? I'm a paramedic attached to the J Municipal Hospital. Mr Lu Yang had suddenly fainted in pain at his workplace. We are currently escorting Mr Lu Yang to the hospital for an emergency checkup," the ambulance's paramedic who answered the phone replied.

Hearing the words from the paramedic, the nurse was surprised. She didn't expect both the girl's parents to have fainted simultaneously.

While speculating what was happening in her heart, she still calmly replied to the phone, "I see. I'm a nurse from the Astra RC. I'm trying to reach Mr Lu Yang to inform him that Mrs Seline, his wife, was also involved in an accident and remained unconscious. Soon, she will be sent to the hospital, accompanied by her family members."

This time, it was the paramedic's turn to be surprised.

However, he still professionally replied to the call, "In that case, I'll be reporting the situation to the hospital once we arrive there. Since they are both from the same family, fainting simultaneously, it might be necessary for the hospital and medical personnel to highlight and take note of the circumstances of the matter. When reaching the hospital later, please tell the reception counter the details of the situation."

"Sure, I'll do that. Thank you."

Soon after the call was hung up, the nurse went to Grandma Ann and the little girl, intertwining how to tell the news she just heard.

At the moment, the attending doctor was discussing with Grandma Ann. 

"Currently, there doesn't seem to be any changes with the patient. Although she remained unconscious, unlike initially, she no longer seemed to be in pain. We still could not explain what the patient had experienced, but her vital signs are currently stable."

"Thank you, doctor, for your help. Thank you. Could we see Seline soon? When will she wake up?" Grandma Ann asked the doctor.

"You can see her right away. However, we would still send her to the hospital for a follow-up checkup. We are still concerned about the unexplained pain and headache she experienced. We are worried whether there are unknown complications or not suffered by the patient. The hospital should be able to provide better and comprehensive diagnosis and test," the doctors said.

"Yes. As it should be. When the ambulance arrives, we will follow along to the hospital together," Grandma Ann said.

She immediately told her son to ready the car. She would take Stella to follow along the ambulance later to the hospital.

Seeing the nurse who came over, Grandma Ann immediately asked about the situation.

The nurse glanced over to Stella in Grandma Ann's bosom. After hesitating briefly, she asked whether she could talk to her alone.

As Grandma Ann quickly grasped the meaning of something, she asked her son to look after Stella for a moment and follow the nurse to the side.

"Grandma Ann, I've called the number given in the record. However, I was unable to reach Mr Lu Yang. On the other hand, the one who answered was a paramedic from the J Municipal Hospital. He told me that Mr Lu Yang had also fallen into unconsciousness. They are currently in an ambulance sending him to the hospital," the nurse said as soon as they were alone.

Hearing what the nurse said, Grandma Ann was shocked. At the same time, she sympathized with Stella and was saddened by what had happened to her parent. She doesn't know how to explain to Stella later when she asks for her father.

As Grandma Ann tried to keep herself together, she asked, "Then what else did the paramedic say?"

"He said that when we send Mrs Seline to the hospital, we should notify them about the situation, including that her husband had also fallen and unconscious. He was worried that the two cases might be related and the situation may need the hospital's attention," the nurse replied.

"Okay, thank you. We'll do that after we arrive there."

Grandma Ann thanked the nurse and went back to the little girl.

At this moment, the little girl had calmed down a bit despite still sobbing quietly.

Several minutes later, the ambulance came on time and took Seline to the J Municipal Hospital. Stella, Grandma Ann, and her son followed behind the ambulance, driving towards the emergency ward.

When they arrived there and completed the registration process, they waited in the waiting area of the emergency ward.

Given that the medical condition and background had been reported before the patient's arrival, the medical specialist standing by immediately took Seline in for examination. Later, a nurse came to them to ask a few related questions before returning to the emergency room.

The waiting time was long. Stella had fallen asleep when the doctor came out of the emergency room. Her pitiful look, with traces of tears on her face, made anyone walking by feel distressed.

While glancing at the girl, the doctor went to Grandma Ann.

"Are you the relative of Mr Lu Yang and Mrs Seline?" she asked.

"No. She is. She is their daughter. ," said Grandma Ann while pointing to Stella. "We are close friends with the Lu Yang family. We're the ones who brought Seline to the hospital. And we heard that her husband was also sent here. Doctor, may I know how is their condition?"

"At the moment, we had not found anything wrong with the two of them. Their physical body scan was normal. Blood pressure, oxygen level, and other parameters were normal. Though we still need to wait for the x-ray scan and blood test results, as far as the current test result showed, they were in perfect health. There shouldn't be any problem with their body," the doctor said.

"If that is the case, why did they fainted? I was there when it happened. Seline was screaming in pain. It was as if she was in the most excruciating pain. Even her muscles were visibly convulsing while she withstood the pain," Grandma Ann vividly described the situation in the afternoon.

"I understand. From what I heard, her husband's situation then was similar to what you had described. Which is why I feel it was weird. We have not ruled out the possibility of poisoning or disease infection. So we'll need to hold them back for the time being to conduct further tests," the doctor said.

After discussing some matters with Grandma Ann, the doctor left to attend to other patients. As for Lu Yang and Seline, there's nothing more she can do for now. She needs to see the test result before deciding on her next plan.

Grandma Ann sees the doctor off before returning to her seat. They had to wait for a while before they saw Seline lying on a bed, being pushed outwards from the emergency room. The husband and wife will be hospitalized for a few days to wait for the test result.

As the three followed entered the private ward, they saw Seline and Lu Yang lying motionless on the bed. The two remained unconscious, sleeping peacefully as if they had not experienced the afternoon matter.
