A man slowly went from house to house and searched every corner. Finally in one house he stayed longer and slowly dragged out a bag with some grains.

His face was cold and emotionless.

Well, zombies exist in this world as well? Just quite living ghosts.

With calm expression she walked straight towards him and saw him looking at her with flash of surprise on his calm eyes.

"Hello. I would like to go to next town to sell few things. Could you please show me the way?" Anna Gale could see his expression becoming erratic with excitement and almost snorted.

"My carriage is near. Come." He pointed at certain direction and saw the boy accepting it.

A cold smile appeared on his lips as he walked straight behind this kid.

Not long after a carriage was seen and bunch of bundled people sat there, shaking in fear.

"Intresting. Am I kidnapped?" Her calm and hollow voice made the man feel strangely scared for the first time in his life.

"Get on calmly or I'll bundle you up as well." He threatened with deep voice.

"Ok." Anna Gale was actually scared, but chose not to show that as people like him enjoyed seeing fear.

Her father was like this as well.

If she was not sure about him being Earth person, she would think he is one of these people.

Same strange shine in eyes, same cold smile and same weak deposition when someone strong and powerful appears.

Yes, she knew she could escape anytime, but first she wanted to see where they were talking her.

She sat literally in middle between two girls and pointed at their blue hands. "If they lose ability to move hands, will you need them?"

The man saw the situation and grumbled as he loosened the ropes. "If you two try to run, I'll kill you."

Of course both of them nodded vigorously and rubbed their painful wrists.

They didn't dare speaking, but gratefully smiled at the young boy between them.

But the boy ignored them. He was looking at few baskets with babies inside and every hair on her body was up.

On the five carriages only children and babies were. Not even one grown up.

"If I offer five cities to open up to save these children, is it possible?" She whispered as she wanted to negotiate.

*Request is denied. Only your bloodline can pass trough gate.*

Her eyes contracted.

Only her bloodline?

"My parents?" She had an idea and thought about it.

*Request has been denied. Your parents are not worthy.*

Wow.

A gate that held grudge?

While she was in deep thoughts the carriages moved on and joined another dozen carriages that came from other side streets.

Her face became cold as she saw all children being petrified and some even visibly attacked

The more the man looked at this small child the more he felt strange emotion literally emanating from child's body and soul.

What Anna Gale didn't know is that after she survived apocalypse and life with her strange father, her own mind was hardened long ago.

She grew up long ago and even her friends avoided her sometimes because she had natural gloominess in her.

And that gloominess started spreading and scared the man.

He grew up as Grom man and was trained to be strong, resilient, merciless and cold. He never felt fear of no one and even killed people without bat of an eye.

But this child gave him creeps.

Anna Gale calmly looked at the map and suddenly it opened up completely. It seems they are near the town.

But as soon she saw the houses, she knew it was not the same like in other cities. This town had no outer walls and only a castle in middle had high walls and bunch of soldiers.

The town was silent and only rattle and squeaky sound of carriages could be heard accompanied by the sound of hooves on gravel they had in their streets.

She calmly waited until they stopped directly in front of the castle and glanced calmly at the Grom soldier, making him feel goosebumps all over his body.

Just then bunch of other Grom soldiers came out accompanied by an strangely young man.

He looked at babies with a strange creepy smile on his face and licked his lips. "Tonight, we will have a feast..."

Just those words made Anna Gale suddenly laugh. This man was so creepy she wanted to cry loudly but ended up cracking up.

The sound of a cold chuckle made the man look towards her position and she finally saw the notification that gate was ready.

With a cold smile she slowly walked forward and pointed at babies. "You want to eat children?"

He got stunned. "Eat children?"

Seeing his stunned expression Anna Gale realized she missunderstood him.

He suddenly realized why she thought that and started maniacally laughing. "Children are my prisoners. I will have good dinner tonight as I finally have those stubborn people in my hands. Now, who are you?"

"Just a trader." Anna Gale looked at the babies then at him. "I don't care about your weird state of mind and your ideas. Don't harm them or I will burn the castle to the ground."

"You and what army?" He started laughing and saw a strange shiny gate opening and the boy just went trough it and dissapeard.

In fright he sat down and glanced at nearby Grom soldier. "What... how... who...?"

The man that drove Anna Gale here finally started officially shaking. "A deity..."

He heard old stories about deities that punish bad people, but as no Grom ever got punished they became powerful army.

The noble paled. A deity?

He glanced at frightened children and knew that they didn't know that child. His eyes flashed with coldness as he pointed at children. "Kill them all."

Anna Gale knew she had not much time. "Police armory."

She couldn't go to that base to steal weapons, but she was certain that police had such a thing.

The police station stunk as the door to it opened up and she saw few rotting bodies on ground. She rushed to nearest and grabbed the gun from man's hand.

She was not certain if she could shoot with this, but she had to try. That man won't let off the children after she is gone.

The crazy flash that appeared on his face was a proof.

Without thinking twice she spoke. "Open gate to that man."

The gate opened and she just shot while holding only hand outside the gate...
