Library exploration

As the first rays of the sun illuminated the sky, I woke up in my bed, examining my body in surprise. "Looks like all the wounds from the previous night have healed. It appears that vampires absorb the vitality of their prey by drinking their blood. Perhaps, in the future, I can hunt bigger animals."

I mused, "Today, I must find the mansion's library to check if all the information from the novel matches this world or whether I am in a parallel universe."

Having already planned for this, I took the porcupine bone, previously used for the rope, a pencil, and paper to sketch the outer mechanics of the lock. I peeked into the lock by standing on a pillow and drew its interior structure.

Contemplating, "Now, how do I carve this? The fruit knife can't be used to carve a bone." After much thought, I decided to use my nails, as they were sharp enough for killing animals.

I remarked, "Now, how do I make it long? Oh! yeah Nail power, go! Nothing is happening... Hmm, maybe that can work."

I ran toward my cradle, took the blood bottle, and drank it, making my vampire instincts kick in. My nails and teeth became larger and stronger.

Using my nails, I tried to carve the bone, but it was a slow and tedious process. After completion, it was noon. "Haaa... took quite a while. Never thought it would be so tough to make it. Glad these nails are strong enough to carve these bones into a key. Hehehe. Now, I can get out of here."

I remarked, "It's better to go at night when there will be fewer workers. Until then, I might as well take a nap."

Finally, night fell, and there stood a young boy with a black cape covering his face. I chuckled, "The night has come. Heehee, I am Batman. Hahaha..."

I then opened the door with a clang and tiptoed my way out, saying, "Looking at the outlet of this floor, I guess it must be used for residence, and that big door must be the patriarch's room. Now, where can I find the library?" I closed my eyes, trying to imagine the architecture of the building, Medieval architects often constructed on the Groundfloor behind the main hall, for better portability.

I concluded, "It must be on the ground floor, opposite to the hallway." Thinking so, I tiptoed down the floor and reached the library.

I exclaimed, "Woah, it's huge. Okay, I have to find books related to geography, dungeon theory, awakening, and mana foundations." I took my time, going through the books, finding the relevant ones, and putting them into my cape.

I said, "I still have some time. I might as well search the ancient language section." I went through different books, searching for symbols that matched those on the wall. After quite some time, at the end of the row, I saw a very old book made of reptilian black leather with a bat symbol on top of it, containing the exact same symbols as the wall. Acquiring this, I raced back to my room.

I started reading the books one by one.

"Pandora's Geography"

After reading the book, I realized that Pandora was approximately 10 times the size of Earth, similar to Jupiter, and it had five continents:

Aurelia: The human continent located in the east, ruled by the Greville family, known for its beaches.

Borealis: A place of high mountains and clear skies, located in the south, ruled by the Hammer family of dwarves.

-Dusk Endale: A continent located in the west, known for its forests and ruled by the Nightshades vampire family.

-Elysium: A lush, green land of forests and rivers, where the Greenwoods elf Royal family rules.

- Celestia: The largest continent, located in the center of the world and home to some of the most important powerhouses like the World Academy, Adventurers Guild and the Mage tower.

The four great noble families along with the principal of World Academy, GuildMaster of Adventures guild and the Archmagi of the mage tower, represent the 'Table of Rounds' also called as *Septet*, is responsible for taking important for overall power balance of the world.

All the seat holders are SS Ranked, except the old principal of the World government, who is currently the strongest person in the world, who is currently a SS+ class powerhouse.

Mana Foundations:

From ancient times, Mana is an energy present throughout the universe, but only the dragons were the only species present on Earth which were able to manifest it and thus becoming the climbing to the epitome of civilization and had created something called as the 'Dragon's gate', a floating Island in the skies.

Dragons were the ones who taught magic to the rest of the species and in return all the species accepted Dragons to be the king of the world.

But today, the whereabouts of Dragons are unknown and are supposedly extinct, 'Dragons are considered to be a myth only appearing in children's tales.'

"Hmph that's strange, there was never a mention of dragons in the novel, Is this a hidden plot?"

"Huh no need to worry about things which are not in my control, better take note of the rest of the knowledge"

After absorbing information about the Dungeon, several key points came to my attention:

Dungeon Classification:

Dungeons are spatial phenomena connecting two different realms which ultimately results in spatial invasion of mana beasts and only in the case of dungeon break, a huge spatial crack occurs in the dungeon resulting in an invasion of a huge number of these dungeon beasts into the outside world.

In general, to clear a dungeon, a party size of 5-6 members of the consequent rank should be needed in order to clear the dungeon. As the rank increases the difficulty increases even more.

Three types of gates exist: blue gate, yellow gate, and red gate.

[Blue Gate]: These gates are characterized by their unique blue colored spatial distortion, in general the gate's rank can be estimated by measuring the amount of mana around the gate using a mana detector, so basically a normal gate. 

[Yellow Gate]: Resembles one level below its actual ranking; has a rank limit and number limit to enter the dungeon. if suppose the rank limit is D and number limit is 4 then only D or below rankers can enter the dungeon.

[Red Gate]: Resembles two levels below its actual ranking and until the people inside it dies, none can enter it and are locked till death.

Dungeon Ranks:

Dungeons are categorized into ranks F to SSS.

SSS rank dungeons are legendary, formed during the time of Orion's grandparents. It was a huge calamity posing a threat to the survival of the humanity. For the survival of the humanity as a whole, All the SS Rank individuals from all over the world formed a party, which consisted of the four heads of the four noble families and principal of the World Academy, 'Julius Evenstar'.

Except 'Julius Evenstar', all the previous patriarchs met their end in the dungeon, Julius Evenstar, although came back but had lost most of his vitality and had become a frail looking old man.

But that frail looking body shouldn't be underestimated as his power had broken through the shackles of the SS Rank and promoted to SS+ Rank.

After this incident, Julius Evenstar created the 'Table of Rounds' called 'Septet' and took in all the future heirs of the four noble families due to lack of power, the Mage tower, Adventurer's Guild head were included in the 'Septet'.

Wars occurred every few decades between different continents to claim lands and dungeon resources in the central continent.

During one such war my mother had lost much vitality in a war against humans, a conflict to occupy an SS Rank dungeon. I harbored hatred toward humans as they targeted her, knowing the vampire continent had two SS Rank individuals at that time.

My mother was a commoner child who had enrolled in the academy and raised the ladders through sheer talent and efforts, my dad had forced her to marry her for acquiring her talent.

Julius Evenstar, as his age was increasing, he felt the need to choose a successor to lead humanity to its peak.
