The Tower

Noah woke up with a startle.He looked around the hospital room with three patients,one on his side and two others across the room

He looked outside the room to see that the sun is about to come out

"Was I rescued?"

He said unsurely,

Noah is a priest living in an unknown village in Uk

Two days ago he came to New York because of a task given to him by the church after completing the task,He started sightseeing until it was late at night and then...

'What happened then?'

He can't remember what happened after that he only remembered walking in the night with a severe headache

'oh right why don't I have wounds if was dripping in blood yesterday night?'

Noah tried to remember for a bit but then gave up believing it to be defense mechanism of the mind to shield off the trauma

Noah looked outside the window and thought to sleep because there is still some time left before morning

........

Thud!Thud!Thud!

Noah woke up to the sound of someone slamming the door

'For love of God!'

Noah left the bed and got up to open the door maybe because of his drowsiness.He didn't notice the white fog around the room even though they are inside a building

Noah opened the door to see a zombie or something similar at point blank range

He was startled but he didn't have the time to be surprised before the zombie pounced on him

Out of reflex He kicked the abomination in the abdomen and crawled back using his hands perhaps if had ran the zombie would not have caught up to him but there are no if's.

Noah was too panicked to think clearly.

He wrestled with the zombie on top of him but soon he calmed down and was puzzled

'He's weak?I am not the one to say it because I rarely exercise but he is like a child with a muscle strength of an adult!'

Noah kicked him again but this time instead of zombie getting thrown backwards his feet penetrated the belly of zombie

The zombie eyes become unfocused

Noah was panicked and hurriedly pulled out his feet while throwing the now dead zombie in a corner

Noah sat at floor for five minutes trying to calm down before hurriedly holding his hands together in prayer

After reciting the prayers he calmed down and studied the environment he was in.'Nothing different just a thick white fog has envolped the room'

He tried walked towards the window to see the outside.'What the Fuck!'

It may be the only time in 12 years that he has cursed.

Outside the window the whole city was covered in white fog.Countless humanoid monsters and beasts roamed the outside there was no ground all things are standing on black fog while a blue ancient tower that pierced the sky was visible on the horizon whoever looked at the tower would get the feeling that reason and logic of countless different worlds has been used to build it

'The tower of Ratiocination?'.This term inevitabaly came in the mind of Noah

SShhhhh!He was dazed until he heard the sound coming from the corner of the room

The zombie's corpse transformed into fog leaving a small palm sized heart that is leaking illusory fog

Noah hesitated but a few minutes later curiously came to check the heart. The heart was unlike normal it has may wrinkles that made it look like brain rather than the heart.The fog leaked from the heart didn't go away instead it showed videos of different scenarios like mountains,cities,lakes e.t.c

Suddenly,He felt attraction coming from the heart like it was a magnet.

'No,it is not attracting me'.

Noah felt it there is some kind of energy that is within him that the heart is attracting

He didn't know how but he guided the energy to the hand instinctively

The white energy that came out of his hand pieced together and transformed into an ancient key like the one used in iron ages(A.n/Like this one 🗝️)

Noah carefully brought the key to the heart.The heart was sucked into the key like it was the most natural process.After a few moments the heart was gone

Noah waited for a bit but nothing happened.

'It didn't do anything?'

Perhaps because nothing happened Noah let his guard down.

He looked curiously at the white key with ivory patterns and tried to store it in himself again

The key turned into light came in to his chest

Suddenly,Noah felt his spirit leaving his body rising above lofty heights.When he came to his senses he saw an ivory river.

Noah,in a daze,came near the river and saw himself in the river but it was not a reflection instead it was like a video.

He saw himself leaving the hospital,forsaking his original identity,living as an American citizen until he was kidnapped and killed and then the ivory river showed Noah again leaving the hospital but this time he was successful and died happily.

Noah didn't know how many times it happened it felt like weeks but also a moment.

He was still looking inside the river in a daze when he saw the current version of the river noah with his younger brother jasper.

He woke up from his drowsiness to find his body slowly changing into that like of the zombie!

He was horrified

'What the hell!'

The moment he gained consciousness.He was pulled back into his body

Noah woke up with a startle.He looked around to find himself again in the hospital room,not the foggy one.

Around him nurses were checking and tending to patients

'I'm back?'.Noah was confused and in a daze until a nurse came to check on him

"Have you awakened?"

The nurse was clad in white and was looking at Noah with concern but Noah didn't answer.

He just looked at her
