Bilbo brandished his elven sword, "Are you sure?!" he asked with concern. Arthas nodded with a smile, "You saw me fight, are you not confident in my skill? come! if you want to learn combat, the best way is this.".
Bilbo nodded and dashed towards Arthas, he swiped his sword at his waist only for it to be easily parried by Frostmourne. "Too predictable, too slow, your movements are too stiff as well."
The two of them sparred, Bilbo attacking and Arthas defending. 'He is improving, slowly... It's better than nothing.' Arthas noted.
Earlier in the morning, Arthas had been practicing by himself when the Hobbit found him. After a polite greeting, they had begun training as per Bilbo's request. A few hours past and Bilbo finally shouted, "Okay, It's enough! I think I had it for today!".
Arthas shook his head, "I still don't have a scratch on me; you have not landed a single strike. I have not used more than one arm and have yet to move from my position. You improved a bit but...".
Bilbo frantically shook his head, "I am already regretting this. Fighting is harder than I thought.". Arthas sighed, "If you insist. Why don't we take a walk around? Last night I couldn't sleep; the sky here is beautiful at night.". Bilbo noted with surprise, 'its almost night time. We practiced for so long, yet, I didn't notice the passage of time.'.
As they walked for short while, something caused Arthas to stop. He looked at Bilbo, "You go on. I will join you later.". Bilbo noticed his strange behavior but he left anyway, 'Perhaps he wants to use the bathroom and is ashamed to say?'.
Arthas turned to look at the side when the Hobbit was gone. A beautiful and graceful lady appeared; Her golden hair long, and a silver circlet crown on her head. "I sense the strangest presence." Her voice echoed in Arthas's head.
Her eyes looked into his, the voice returned. "A Stranger, Lost; One who seeks something... unachievable by the mortal men."
Arthas smiled politely and bowed slightly, "Lady Galadriel, I presume?". Galadriel nodded, "You have seen me? No, you know of me more than it appears... How peculiar.". Arthas was having a small heart-attack inside, 'She is bad news!'.
"I came to meet Mithrandir; yet, you and your weapon... A mystery. What do you seek here?"
'She can't completely read minds, thank god!', he thought with relief.
Arthas respectfully smiled, "I wish to find a way home and have a few adventures on the way.". Galadriel moved towards the steps, "Follow me... Athal(means stranger in Sindarin)".
He followed her cautiously, many thoughts going through his mind. "You feel nervous. I wish you no harm."
He calmed down after he heard that. 'I don't think it is wise to offend her; She is much more powerful than me at the moment.'
Surprisingly on the way, she remained silent. Arthas couldn't help but get confused, 'What does she want? Where is she leading me?'. They soon reached a familiar place, he recognized it in his memory, 'Don't tell me...'.
Gandalf and Elrond approached from the other side; when they saw him with Galadriel they nearly gawked.
Gandalf never expected to see Lady Galadriel and with Arthas at that. He couldn't help but be shocked. He noticed the shock in Lord Elrond's face at seeing Arthas with her so he calmed down a bit. He greeted her and turned to look at Elrond, "I had no idea Lord Elrond had sent for you.".
Gandalf looked at Arthas with clear confusion in his eyes. Arthas noticed his look but he only shrugged and pointed at Galadriel. His intent obvious, 'Do you think I want to be here?'. Gandalf sighed and ignored him.
"He didn't." Saruman appeared from behind a pillar. Saruman didn't pay attention to Arthas as he and Gandalf began arguing. Arthas wisely stepped back and let them talk it out.
He couldn't help but feel strange as he saw a bunch of people deciding the fate of the world. It was oddly underwhelming for him. He expected more... They simply argued and reasoned for the best possible path.
Arthas was puzzled why Galadriel had brought him there; he had no reason to be in there. 'Something is up...'
His train of thought was interrupted by another telepathic message from Galadriel, 'What do you think of this Necromancer?'. Arthas looked at her with confusion and tried to telepathically communicate, he thought out loud and willed it to be heard by her, Since the channel was open it worked. 'I am confused, my lady. I have no place here and am certainly not qualified. Why does my opinion matter?'
Galadriel smiled, 'You don't know?'. 'What?'
'Gandalf couldn't sense it but I can; The light... Magic like the sun deeply concealed behind clouds. The Light is barely visible. So powerful yet so gentle and pure...', Arthas was getting more confused every moment that passed. 'You do not know of your own power? Your own light?'
'I think Lady Galadriel is joking; I have no power or magic that you speak of. I don't sense anything unusual so how could I be a wizard?'
Her smile widened, 'Then how can you communicate with me?'. His eyes opened wide, 'Don't tell me I have magic like a paladin?!'.
Galadriel suddenly ignored him and looked at a direction then her eyes locked with Gandalf for a brief moment.
An Elf came and informed them of the Dwarfs leaving. The situation became a bit awkward as Saruman snorted and left.
Galadriel suddenly spoke after Saruman was gone, "Mithrandir, I wish to take this young man with me. Will this not hinder your plans?". 'She is so straight forward!'
Gandalf frowned for a moment and then nodded. "But, Why?"
Galadriel merely smiled, not explaining her reasons. Gandalf could only sigh, "I am not against it but my lady, he has agreed to help the dwarfs I hope you consider this.". She smiled, "You need not worry, he will return when you need him.".
'Follow me Athal, don't worry; I wish to teach you how to use your power...', Arthas thought to himself with exasperation, 'Don't I get a say in this?!'. 'Lady Galadriel, Why would you do that?'
She didn't answer him; He became frustrated but deep in his heart he was excited. 'Can I really use holy magic and such?! It's tempting, I will go with her.'
Galadriel couldn't help but feel nervous despite not showing it. 'Such holy magical might and yet carrying an Evil blade... I can't let him fall into darkness. He will either be the herald of light or the bringer of doom. He has the potential of Sauron; He needs guidance...'
"We will fly to Lórien..."
As you may have noticed, I edited the last chapters. Thanks to 'Fadhli' who pointed out my mistake. The quality of the chapters is probably gonna be better. If you want to make the story even better in any aspect, I welcome your advice.
Sorry if it was an inconvenience...
Galadriel is not a romantic interest now, she has a husband and I hate NTR.
The plot is changing with every step, the dominos are being placed. I wonder what the effect will be... Don't you? The effect Maybe now or maybe by the time of LotR or maybe even after?! :)
I will update 2 days from now. I am a bit busy.
