Chapter 8 Nami and Zoro

On the small boat, there was a young woman with orange hair. She counted the money she had stolen from the yacht before Alvida and her crew attacked it. Suddenly, her calm voyage was interrupted by three boys, one around her age wearing a straw hat, one younger than her with pink hair and glasses, while the last one clearly older than her wearing a bucket hat and a white hair taller than the other boys, somehow the last one seem familiar to her.

"Oi there, Will you take us to Shells Town?" Luffy loudly asked. Kenny was happy seeing Nami did not change even after he saved Bellmere.

'Looks like destiny still plays its part' Kenny thought.

"Y-yes, I was also going to Shells Town," Nami answered, not knowing what to do.

"So, who are you?" Luffy asked

"I'm Nojiko," Nami nervously answer. But before she can ask what Luffy and the other name is, she hears the tallest boy snicker at her.

"What's so funny" Nami questioned, forgetting her nervousness

"You, telling us your sister's name," Kenny answers, grinning.

"W-what? How do you know? Who are you?"

"Don't you remember me?" Kenny said as he took off his bucket hat.

"It's you, the one that saves us from the fishmen," Nami realize.

"Kyakyakyakyakya Looks like you've grown, Nami."

Nami then launched herself and hugged Kenny.

Luffy and Coby just stood there with open mouths seeing this Kenny then introduced Nami to the other.

"This is Nami; before I met you, Luffy, I managed to save her mother from Fishmen Pirate."

"Fishmen!!!" Coby terrified.

"Fishmen...So Cooolllll," Luffy said.

"Nami, this is Luffy, Captain of the straw hat pirate I'm in, and Coby, a boy we save from Alvida Pirate," Kenny introduces.

After some back and forth introduction between them, Kenny began to sail to Shell's Town with Nami.

"So Nami, what are you doing in the sea. How did you start becoming a thief, and where is your family." Kenny ask.

"Well, after you left, there is nothing much happen in Cocoyashi; my dream has always been to draw the map to the whole world, but my mom keeps bothering me to join the Marine like my sister Nojiko, so in the end, I run away and start sailing, the stealing is just a way for me to survive and somehow I like." She said, "Eh-eh but don't worry, Kenny, I only steal from pirates and bad guys," Nami said as he blushed, looking away from Kenny.

"How about joining us? My captain needs a good navigator if he wants to be the King of pirates." Kenny asks Nami.

"O-Okay," Nami answered.

Kenny took Nami by her shoulder and told his captain the good news. "Captain... I got us a navigator," Kenny yelled as he had his arm around Nami's shoulder and the other pointing at her. Nami blushed because of this.

"Good job, Vice-Captain shishishishishi" Luffy laughed.

Kenny, Luffy, Nami, and Coby arrive at Shells Town, and they all hear a commotion, a rumor about a certain swordsman captured by the local Marine.

"Eh, Roronoa Zoro is here," Coby react after hearing the townspeople.

"Who is that, Coby?" Luffy asks.

"Zoro? He is a famous bounty hunter who recently appeared; they say that he is a demon that kills every pirate he encounters."

"Let's ask him to join us," Luffy says proudly.

"No, that is impossible! you cant recruit him; he hates pirates and will probably kill y- *BONK!*

" Ow, why did you hit me," Coby asked as Kenny hit his head.

"You overreacted," Kenny explained with a calm tone.

To get some information, the four of them went to a tavern. When Luffy asked about Roronoa Zoro, everyone glared at him - except a girl named Rika, who was willing to speak.

"What do you know about Zoro?" Luffy asked.

"He's a good man; he saved my life. Three days ago, Captain Morgan's son Helmeppo came here to eat, suddenly his dog attacked me, and Zoro saved my life. then the Marine came and took Zoro, chaining him in the pole in a field outside; Helmeppo then said that he would let him go if Zoro managed to survive, staying there with no food or drink for a month, but Helmeppo did not keep his promise and he will execute Zoro tomorrow."

'Helmeppo, you douchebag! Well, at least he'll be a good guy after joining the Marines', Kenny thought.

"I'm going to the Marine base and give Zoro-san some riceballs!" Rika said.

"No," Luffy decided. "It's too dangerous for a little girl like you, but after I free him, I'll bring him here. Then you can give him as many riceballs as you want."

"But-"

"No, Rika, he's right! What if you get caught by Helmeppo or, even worse, Captain Morgan? You're staying here!" Rika's mother scolded.

"Okay mom!", she muttered, clearly disappointed.

" Nami and I will also stay here Captain" Kenny said

"So, Coby, are we going?", Luffy urgingly asked.

"Y-yeah, right away!"

"Yosh! Wait for us, Zoro!"

Luffy and Coby arrived at the walls of 153rd Branch. The young captain then used his devil fruit powers to lift Coby and himself up the wall. They were now staring at Zoro, who was tied to a wooden pole. Said swordsman then saw them.

"Oi kids, get out of here! You're an eyesore!", Zoro shouted.

Luffy jumped over the wall, Coby just watched, thinking about the negative consequences.

"Shishishi! Hungry?", the pirate greeted the prisoner, joking a little.

"If you came here to mock me, I don't care. I won't eat anything until this one month over, when Helmeppo lets me go."

"You do realize he won't hold his promise, he's going to have you executed in tomorrow.", Luffy bluntly informed his future first mate.

"Fuck, I knew it! That spoiled little shit!", the green-haired snarled.

"By the way, I'm Monkey D. Luffy, future king of the pirates. Do you want to be my nakama?"

"As if I would want to be a pirate! I'm a bounty hunter, I kill people like you for lunch!"

"If I get your swords, would you join me then? I mean, it's better than dying.", the strawhat tried to convince him.

"Fine, I'll join you if you get back my swords. I'm sure they are in Helmeppo's room.", the green-haired spoke, sighing in defeat.

"Yosh, it's a deal then!", Luffy said, while stretching his arms towards the base tower. "Gomu Gomu no Rocket!"

"If you wonder how I did that, I ate the Gomu Gomu no mi, I'm a rubber man!", he shouted, flying towards the tower roof.

Quickly approaching, he saw Captain Morgan's statue being set up.

Flying through the air like a rocket, Luffy decapitated Morgan's statue, much to the Marine's horror. Morgan's blood was boiling now. "Kill him, men! Don't ever let him see the light of the sun again!"

Luffy managed to defeat dozens of Marine soldiers without breaking a single sweat. "Where is Helmeppo's room?", he asked a soldier who he picked up and grabbed by the collar.

"Down the stairs, on the left", the Marine said before passing out.

The strawhat ran to said room and took Zoro's swords. He then left the tower. When he was about to give Zoro his swords back, he was "greeted" by Captain Morgan and his soldiers. Helmeppo also came by.

"How dare you try to free Roronoa Zoro, I was going to have him executed tommorow.", the blonde man spat.

"You're not executing anybody, egghead!", Luffy declared, insulting Helmeppo.

"Daddy, he insulted me, do something!"

"You've done enough, Strawhat! Men, open fire!"

The soldiers fired bullets at Luffy. Instead of dodging them, he let the bullets hit him, so he could repel them. Every Marine except Morgan was shocked. "H-how did he do that?"

"He ate a devil fruit.", the Marine Captain explained. "Devil fruits can make the user breath fire or cause tsunamis, it varies on the fruit."

"That's right, I ate the Gomu Gomu no mi. I can turn my body into rubber."

The Marines were slowly backing away from Luffy. Captain Morgan didn't like this at all. "Everyone who is scared of this brat, shoot yourself immediately!", he ordered.

Because the Marines were too scared of Morgan, they put their pistol ends on their heads, ready to shoot.

"What kind of Marine orders his own men to shoot themselves?", Luffy yelled, angry about the man's decision. "Gomu Gomu no Pistol!"

Luffy hit Captain Morgan with medium strength, hitting him hard, but still allowing him to stand up.

"Okay brat, this is it! DIE!", he furiously shouted, aiming his axe hand at the 17-year-old.

"Armament", Luffy mumbled. A part of his head turned black, but this wasn't visible due to his hair blocking the sight.

After the fearsome Marine hit the teen with his axe hand, he was shocked to see his best weapon break into pieces. So were his men, his son, and Coby. "How did he break the 'unbreakable' axe?!", some Marines exclaimed.

"This is where I finish you off, Morgan! Gomu Gomu no Bazooka!"

Luffy launched both of his fists with high speed into his opponent. The Ex-Captain flew high into the air, possibly landing somewhere in the sea, to be captured later. All spectators except Helmeppo cheered about the end of "Axe-Hand" Morgan's terror reign.

"This cannot be!", a traumatized Helmeppo let out, knowing the townspeople and even the Marines will want to have revenge for everything he had done. He couldn't hide behind his father's status anymore.

The blonde man wanted to get out of there as fast as possible, but a long, stretched arm hit him knocking him out.

Luffy now turned to Zoro, smiling. "Will you be my nakama after I free you?"

"Yes, but there is one thing.", the swordsman spoke. "My dream is to become the world's greatest swordsman. If you dare to be an obstacle to my dream, I will kill you."

"Shishishi! Don't worry!", Luffy said, laughing. He then cut Zoro's ties, freeing him.

"Where are we going now, Captain?", Zoro asked, accepting his new future.

"Where do you think? Getting you some food, and meeting our Vice-captain and navigator."

Luffy, Zoro, and Coby make their way back to the tavern. When Zoro entered, he was surprised to see and feel the familiar aura in the tavern.

"Kenny?" Zoro asks.

"Oh Zoro, how are you? Where is Kuina" Kenny answer calmly as he drinks his tea.

"Hungry, Kuina joined the Marine when a Vice-Admiral came to visit the village" Zoro answered.

Zoro and Luffy then began to eat plate after plate while Nami and Kenny sat at a table beside them and drank calmly.

Not long a Marine officer came "We're in debt for bringing down Captain Morgan, but you guys have to leave since you are pirates."

Kenny then came to the officer then asked him to lend a Den Den Mushi before they left.

Pururururu...Purururururu...

"Hello this is Vice Admiral Garp, Bogard speaking."

"Yo bo, This is me. Can you get me Gramp"

"Bo? Oh Kenny, you are the only person that calls me that. Please wait"

"Bwahahahaha, Kenny what's up kid? Do you have any more young blood to recommend? The last one is doing well and even meet her twin at the camp Bwahahahahah," Garp answers.

"Yes, I have someone here that perfect for you, a real go-getter. We will leave him in Shell Town. I also wanted to report the captain there, Captain morgan, guilty of terrorizing the townspeople, corruption, ordering subordinates to suicide and many more, you should come and investigate" Kenny reported.

While Kenny is having his conversation with Garp, The Marine officer, Coby and Zoro still in shock hearing Vice-admiral Garp.

After finishing his report Kenny then speak to Coby.

"Hey Coby, if you still wanted to join just stay here until Garp came, and you guys better straightening up because Vice Admiral Garp is coming."

Not long after that Luffy, Kenny, Zoro and Nami leave Shells Town after saying goodbye to Rika and Coby.

Note and Summary:

What do you guys think Nami has no deep hatred toward pirates because Kenny save her from Arlong, and Nami still feels gratitude toward Kenny, making her say yes to join straw hat.

Zoro finally defeats Kuina then Kuina gives Zoro Wado (The white sword) and promises to take it back after defeating Zoro.

Kuina became a Marine because, in the past, Kenny told Garp about Zoro and Kuina; Kuina wanted Zoro to join, but when Zoro decided to join Kuina, he got lost, and the ship had already sailed.

Nojiko became A Marine to follow Bellmere footsteps.
