The island was eerily silent, as if holding its breath in the wake of destruction.
In the next moment, the ground split violently, dividing the island into two halves. Sea water surged from the widening chasm, engulfing the land.
Everyone who witnessed this stood frozen in shock.
Kalifa instinctively tightened her grip on Catkin, her composure wavering as the magnitude of the situation hit her.
Beside her, a spectral figure materialized near Zefa and approached Kalifa.
"Kalifa, take them back to Marineford. I've stabilized Teacher Zefa's condition for now, but he needs proper medical treatment in a controlled environment," the figure urged.
"In addition, this island will soon vanish from the map. For your safety, leave immediately and head to Marineford."
"But what about you?" Kalifa hesitated; concern etched on her face.
"I'll be fine. Remember, I am Admiral Roja, The White Dove!" the apparition said confidently before shattering like glass into the air.
Moments later, all the other phantoms began to disintegrate, one by one.
Time seemed to pause as the gravity of the situation set in.
Ain stepped beside Kalifa, her voice steady despite the chaos. "Ma'am, what are your orders?"
Kalifa's gaze shifted between the devastation on the island and Zefa's injured form. Taking a deep breath, she replied with firm resolve, "I trust Roja. We're retreating to Marineford. Anyone capable of moving, help me carry the injured now!"
The crew wasted no time boarding the warship, which quickly departed from the crumbling island.
On the island, amidst the ruins left by Weevil's relentless rampage, Roja continued dodging the berserker's strikes with precision.
The once-proud land was reduced to shattered fragments. Pools of rainwater filled the craters, forming murky pits amidst the rubble.
The island itself began to sink, slipping below sea level.
Yet Weevil, undeterred, charged at Roja like an untiring beast. His enormous strength left the land trembling with each strike, unrelenting in his pursuit.
Roja's lips curved into a slight smirk as he noticed the warship disappearing beyond the horizon.
With the island now isolated and all innocents evacuated, he could finally unleash his full strength.
Taking a deep breath, Roja focused his energy.
"Float!"
His body rose effortlessly into the air, granting him a commanding view of the battlefield. Below, Weevil bellowed like a frenzied animal, utterly oblivious to the shift in Roja's demeanor.
"It's been a while since I've truly stretched my muscles," Roja murmured, his eyes gleaming. "Let's see if you can handle it."
With a flourish of his hand, flames erupted in his palm, crackling like an inferno. The fire coalesced, forming into a sleek, glowing blade.
A slender yet deadly samurai sword emerged, radiating searing heat.
"You've been dormant for too long," Roja whispered, addressing his Zanpakutō.
The weapon trembled in response, as if acknowledging its wielder.
"Then let's awaken properly—'Reduce all creation to ashes, Ryūjin Jakka!'"
The blade erupted into a towering inferno, unleashing flames that roared with unrestrained might.
The heavens responded to the surge of power, as dark clouds parted violently, and sunlight poured onto the island. The torrential rain ceased, and the once-roaring thunder fell silent.
Weevil, heedless of the shift in nature, charged at Roja, roaring defiantly.
Roja's expression remained calm as he drew his flaming blade back. "First Style: Caressing and Cutting!"
With a flick of his wrist, the blade released a colossal slash wreathed in flames.
The air itself ignited, creating a blinding wave of fire and spiritual energy that roared toward Weevil.
The berserker raised his long-handled sword, pouring his monstrous strength into blocking the strike.
A deafening clash resounded as the two forces collided. Embers showered in all directions, and the ground beneath Weevil's feet crumbled under the pressure.
Weevil gritted his teeth, his muscles straining as he resisted the fiery onslaught. Blood seeped from the corners of his mouth, but his raw strength kept him standing.
Still, Roja's slash was unyielding.
With an explosive crack, Weevil's weapon finally gave way, shattering under the relentless power of Roja's attack.
The unleashed flames tore through Weevil's defenses, sending his massive body hurtling into a distant mountain.
Weevil's colossal frame slammed into the rocky surface, creating a massive crater upon impact.
The fiery glow in his eyes dimmed as pain surged through his body. His internal organs felt displaced, and his once-mighty form trembled weakly.
Even with his monstrous resilience and recovery ability, the damage he had sustained was overwhelming.
As Weevil struggled to stand, Roja descended gracefully, his justice cloak fluttering in the wind.
Weevil's ferocious bravado faltered under Roja's gaze. Panic flickered in his usually dull eyes—a primal instinct warning him of the danger he now faced.
For the first time, the hulking brute hesitated.
Roja's expression was calm but unyielding. "You're strong, Weevil. And your recovery ability is remarkable. Rather than killing you, I believe you'll serve me better as a weapon."
Weevil attempted to flee, his instincts overriding any remaining will to fight.
But Roja vanished in a flash, reappearing before him in an instant.
"Shave."
With a subtle gesture, Roja activated his Illusion Fruit powers. Weevil, whose mind was already weak and shaken, was quickly ensnared in the illusion.
The berserker froze mid-motion, his spirit fully consumed by the fruit's ability.
From this point on, Weevil would act only under Roja's will, a mindless war machine bound to his command.
Before Roja could savor his victory, the island's collapse reached its climax. The sea consumed what little land remained, dragging it into the depths.
Without hesitation, Roja summoned Noah's Ark from his system.
The massive vessel hovered above the ocean, defying gravity through the power of his spells. With Weevil in tow, Roja ascended onto the ark.
Turning his gaze toward the horizon, he murmured, "This is only the beginning."
