When Maki broke the defence of Gattu, he understood that the girl was clearly stronger than him. At first he was confused how the girl was disappearing from his sight or flying in the air. If it's a devil fruit ability then he can earn a load of money by selling her.

As his men rescued him from drowning he plotted a plan to capture the girl.

Attacking her straight ahead without a plan will be waste of time and effort. So the only way to capture her would be to use tricks.

But before that he decided to figure out what exactly was the devil fruit power of the girl. Their are many wacky devil fruit which can increase the speed of the user. But flying was something that a very few could do. And it could be problematic for him to capture her.

In his greedy thoughts, Gattu has completely forgotten that the child from east blue can already use haki.

Deluding himself that the girl has eaten a devil fruit, Gattu went through a various scenario where he could capture the girl off guard.

'The ship will need at least 6 people to function. That means I can use only one as a bait. If I successfully captured her, then it will be all worth it. I can easily take a detour to the louge town, in the pole star Island and collect a few more men to sail in the grand line.

I took my fighting stance.

Just when I was about to attack he put his hands up in a surrendering gesture.

Obviously I didn't fell for it and relaxed my guard. But obviously it made me stop in my tracks.

It was clear that he was plotting something. And it would have been a wise choice to attack him before he starts his plan. But the thing was that I didn't know exactly what he was planning. And going in without knowing the details is more harmful than waiting for his plans to start.

"I want to talk. I don't you just listen to me after that if you don't agree, then I will let these people go."

"You are too suspicious." For the first time I opened my mouth.

"Well it is natural to be suspicious of me. But if you accept my offer then you can earn a lot of money."

"Let me guess, you want me to join your group ?" I asked him.

"Yes." He replied.

"No." I said to him. And immediately afterwards I attacked him.

He seemed awfully confident in himself. Just as I was about to stab him. Another man came out from his body. The sword pierced him instead. My observation haki warned me about the next attack, but the man whom I have stabbed while gripping the sword fiercely. Just a moment of distraction all it took for him to stab a small white dagger in my shoulder.

But I was used to this kind of pain so I slashed towards him without breaking my momentum of attack.

His eyes widened. But unfortunately he was able to dodge my attack in last moment as he jumped away. But before I could follow him my observation haki warned me again as a jumped backwards. An explosion happened on the back of the man whom I have stabbed, making him a gory mess.

"Alright now that you have declined my offer I will let these people go. You maggots ! Help me capture this bitch and I will free you all !"

As I heard these words, a dreadful feeling started to rise up in my heart. The only thing I could think about at that moment was.

'Fuck !'
