Chapter 3- Gramps

"Gramps you are annoying!" 

"GYAHAHAHAHAHAHA kid, did you learn that thing I showed you."

Last time when Garp came for a visit, he had decided to teach me the basics of Haki, of course, he required persuasion, but after seeing me kill the jungle beasts and pirates with ease, he thought it would be ideal to teach me, thinking I will become a marine, a promise which I do not intend to keep. 

Garp did not wait to let me talk and instantly sent an armament-coated arm straight at my chest, I immediately covered my arm with haki too, though inferior to Gramp's punch, it did a great job in blocking the big punch. Garp was looking quite pleased, little did I know that he was motioning for his assistant, Bogard to come behind me and kick me, I didn't see this sly trick, but I felt it like a sixth sense, and as Bogard unleashed his front kick embued with haki, I stepped aside, of course, Bogard had good control and better haki, he knew I was going to dodge, but he didn't push me too hard, age does matter, though tell that to people like Kaido ad Big Mom. 

"I can do basic Armament coating, I tried weapons too but it only works for a while, my observation is alright, I can do presence sensing, intent sensing, and the basic form of emotion reading!"

"So no conquerors eh, that's not your fault, some just don't have it!"

"Shut up old man, I do have it, it came out when Ace was in danger from some animals, it was involuntary, but I do have it, patience makes perfect you stupid old geezer!"

"Don't get too mouthy kid!"

"Or what you sack of haki imbued potatoes!" 

I realised that I had pushed the old man a bit so I grabbed my katana and knife before rushing out into the jungle. Garp followed suit and found me instantly. He cornered me pinned me down and spoke, "I'm on vacation brat, 5 months, it's time I took a greater hand in your training!" 

"What?" 

"For being confused, 1000 press-ups, and don't lie, I know your physical capabilities, 1000 is a cakewalk, come on!" 

I dropped to the floor pouting visibly but inside, I was glad that someone would give up their time for me, this should have been my dad teaching me this stuff, but he was dead, of his own accord, one of the things I hate him for, he was the reason my mother died too. These thoughts are what pushes me every day.

"Alright brat, we are going to slay every single beast in this jungle!" 

We encountered many overgrown animals, it was, of course, easy for Garp to just flick them with armament but for me, some of them took more than a single punch, like this huge grizzly bear 4 times my height, I was tall, but not like 24 or more feet tall.

I coated my fist and rushed up to the animal which immediately started forwards, spinning before trying to headbutt me. I punched the stupid thing right in its forehead, and a huge lump formed around it, I unsheathed my katana seeing that the Bear had thick layers of fat that seemed to be protecting him a lot from my attack, almost like his own haki, but it didn't matter at the hands of my blade, which was now black, clad in armament haki, and I brought the sword down and a pitch black slash grew in size and cut the bears head off in a clean slice. 

Soon there was nothing left to kill and Garo one day said that we would be going to an uninhabited island near the village, full of huge, deadly animals, he flew off with his rokushiki techniques and I followed suit, the wings growing larger from my back, around 2 or 3 meters for each wing. I flew into the air for the first time since I got the fruit, I wasn't allowed to before, because of the old man's restrictions, but I was free now.

The island was quite tropical and isolated, Garp looked at me with a strange glint in his eyes and told me to sit down on a rock and meditate while he made food, eventually, I drifted off into a very deep sleep and didn't realize that Garp had tied multiple steaks to my body and dumped me at the center of the island. 

When I woke up, I was glad to see that no animal had arrived, I tried to stand but my legs were bound to a rock, and so were my arms, I shouted curses into the air, knowing that the old man was listening with haki. I shut my gob when I spotted a whole pack of wolves arriving from the right and a huge lion on the left with its cub. Shit! What the fuck did the old man think he was doing!? 

Nani?

The animals got closer and closer, eventually, the wolves and the lion shared a look of hunger and advanced in a bid to share the food, oh shit! I started sweating profusely and I almost cried seeing the teeth on these animals, I'm not kidding when I say that I wanted it to add on the hilt of my katana as a sort of knife and katana in one weapon, but I pushed this out of my mind when the wolf was just inches from my foot.

"Le-leave me alone, I'll share the steaks!" I took the steaks of myself and threw them to the floor in front of them and the lion and the wolves feasted, but when they finished they looked up at me like the steaks were an appetizer and I was the main course. 

"Leave me alone, leave me alone! please leave me alone! please! LEAVE ME ALONE!" the clouds went dark and the sky went from bright blue to dark and black, lightning struck in the atmosphere, and there were great big red tendrils of lightning oozing from my eyes in all directions, the knots around my arms and feet came loose, as I maintained the conquerors haki on my own, "LEAVE ME ALONE!" a wall of invisible willpower smashed into the animals and they all dropped to the floor and a second later Garp found me on my knees at the center of the forest, pulling out the Lion's sharpest tooth and the alpha wolf's too. 

I caught some fish and laid it in front of them to feats on when they woke up, if they even liked fish, it was a way of saying sorry for hurting them, yes they were going to hurt me, but they were only following the law of nature, all things do, humans do too, we're just very domesticated monkeys who invited stuff. 

When we got back to Dadan's lace I waded into the forest once more with Garp to catch some better food and we found a pit of snakes and we looked at each other with hunger and snake meat on our minds, "You do it kid, kill em!" 

I focused my conqueror haki on the pit and only the pit and shot all my willpower into the 100 or so snakes which we collected and brought to Dadan who boiled them, took their skin off, seasoned and handed them out, or Dadan would roll the meat into balls and fry them for the children. 

That was quite a productive few months...
