Ch 08: Joining The Navy

Two months later,

He read in yesterday's newspaper that Admiral Babuto fought against Charlotte Linlin.

At first, he was an advantage but soon, the Golden lion came to support her, turning it to their advantage and injuring Admiral Babuto.

The World is so chaotic he cannot stop and rest.

"Are you leaving today?"

"Yes"

He was holding Olvia's soft hands.

"Hmph, don't read my memory!"

"Ah, I don't always keep reading memories, it would be too heavy on my mind, I only read your memory when we kissed"

"Ah, then do you want to-"

"Your food is packed, Ray!!"

Ginny shouted.

"Ah…Ginny, you were watching it right"

"Noo"

On the coast,

"I cooked less food because you decided in a hurry, why don't you stay one more day"

"Don't worry about the portion that you packed for me, I don't think it will run out.

Also, Olvia make sure she doesn't read any wrong books in the Library"

"Okay Ray"

"and you don't train too hard, take it slow at the beginning"

"Yes, now you should go if you want to reach there by morning"

"Bye Ginny, Bye Olvia take care of each other"

He shouted from the ship.

Olvia watched as the ship sailed away and looked at Ginny whose eyes were filled with tears.

Ray told her that she is a strong girl but is afraid of being alone.

He asked her to take care of her.

"Come on, Ginny. I want to train, won't you help your big sister?"

Ginny nodded and took a last look at the disappearing ship.

The next day in the morning, he finally saw Marine Branch G-W 19 of the West blue

Soon, a patrol ship came in front of his ship.

"Why are you coming to the Marine?"

"I want to join the Marine"

"We are not recruiting currently, come later

"Just let me meet your branch head"

"I said we are not recruiting currently"

"Don't you understand me"

He took out Zakaz's head and held it by his hair.

"Then I am here to take his bounty, stop blocking"

"This is… it's 'Double Dagger' Zakaz, captain of 'Double Z' pirates which was killed by the Navy almost three months ago"

"It smells so bad"

"Why do you have his head?"

"Because I killed him"

Then, he ignored them and went towards the base.

The marine on the ship quickly informed the base commander.

When he reached the base, he could already feel the base commander walking towards him.

"Hello, I am Captain Josh. Are you the Blue Beheader?"

Captain Josh asked him.

"Tsk, yes I killed Zakaz"

"And you are here to take the bounty on his head?"

"Yes and also to join the navy"

"Although I welcome young people like you joining us, why are you coming three months late?"

"Does it matter?"

"For taking bounty, no. For joining the Marine, Yes"

"Then I will take the bounty first and then talk"

Josh was speechless at his rudeness but he could not reject such a powerful person to leave, just because of this.

"Then, how powerful are you compared to Zakaz?"

Because he knew that the blue-beheader who killed Zakaz, ended the fight in less than an hour.

"My name is Ray S Adison, I am 14 years old, I practise swordsmanship and I know… Observation haki"

"Good…wait What did you say you know?"

"Observation Haki

He wasn't going to hide that he knew Observation Haki but he wouldn't mention the special trait of his observation haki.

Knowing Observation Haki at this age is enough for him to be valued enough to go to Headquarters.

"Do you know what observation haki is?"

If this guy really had observation haki at this age, then he has the potential to at least be a Vice-admiral.

"It allows to predict in opponents moves"

"You are right, would you like to have a spar with me"

"Sure"

He said as he threw the head to the men behind him.

"Let's go to the field, follow me"

On the training ground, one figure ran, while the other chased him.

Half an hour has passed since Josh and him started fighting.

He has been dodging most of the attacks, sometimes attacking to show his swordsmanship and every attack that he did left a wound on Josh's body.

He didn't end the fight early because he couldn't kill Josh and Josh said that he would end the fight when he confirmed it himself.

He couldn't find any reason to continue the fight, even if this guy's strength is on par with him, he cannot even land an attack.

After chasing for a while, Josh finally stopped.

"I have confirmed it, please wait in my office"

"Bring my money too"

"Yes"

"Entertain Ray well, go"

He said to a marine, while he was getting wrapped up by the doctor.

"Yes Commander"

He still didn't come out of what just happened.

A nobody just came and played around with the Commander.

What's more, that guy is not yet an adult.

Seeing the marine look absent, he sighed.

"Don't worry about such things, it is for people like that Marine has the ranks of Admiral and Vice-Admiral"

"Yes Commander, I'll go now"

"Leave"

After the Doctor was done treating him, he told him to leave the room too.

He took out his phone bug.

For this kind of thing, he needs to tell the person sitting at the highest position first and then tell the Marshall, but it doesn't matter since they are father-son anyway.

He started to dial Admiral Babuto,

He told everything that had just happened,

"So, you can confirm that he has observation haki?"

"Yes Admiral, I couldn't land a hit against him"

"What do you think about his character?"

"I cannot say as we haven't spent much time but he appears to be greedy…"

The other side of the phone was silent for a while,

"Then grant him the rank of Lieutenant Commander and observe him for a month, the Grand line is not stable, he should stay there.

Make sure of his safety while he is there Josh, I will talk to Father about this, you should rest and recover"

"Yes Admiral Babuto"

The call was disconnected and Josh breathed a sigh of relief, he hoped that someone as strong as Ray could join the Dove faction, after all, they are the ones who practise 'True Justice' on this sea.

"Father, that was all about it"

"You did the right thing"

"How are you recovering from the injury?"

"It has already healed, I got this injury protecting the future of the Navy so it is worth it"

"Garp has been active in chasing pirates since he came"

"That guy finally got some brains on him"

"Soon the Navy will have another genius, maybe we can deal with Rocks sooner"

"It will take time for him to grow up, he is just fourteen now but from his actions, it doesn't seem that he would join the Doves, his character seems to go well with the Neutrals"

"Doves, Hawks and Neutrals, they are all Navy, as long as they have Justice in their heart"

"Haha, it seems Kong will finally get a guy to train instead of carrying Sengoku from the Hawks with him"

"Haha, maybe you are right"
