In the blink of an eye, the living weapons known as Seraphim were reduced to dust. The brutality and speed of the attack left the Marines present stunned, speechless to describe what they had just witnessed.
For a moment, a sepulchral silence took hold of Marineford. The battle had stopped, as if time itself had frozen to contemplate the might of Hashirama.
A cry echoed through the air, breaking the spell of silence. "Quick!" ordered a Marine with a trembling voice. "Something's wrong, speed up and evacuate!". The order was met with a murmur of fear and confusion, but soon turned into a wave of movement.
The Marines, panicked by the threat posed by Hashirama, began to evacuate Marineford at full speed. Some ran aimlessly, seeking any possible refuge, while others tried to organize an orderly retreat. Chaos reigned on the island, with shouts, orders and the sound of hurried footsteps filling the air.
Amidst the tumult, Sengoku, still in his Buddha form, His gaze is impassive, but a deep concern is reflected in his eyes. Hashirama's overwhelming strength has surpassed all expectations, and a dark intuition tells him that the worst is yet to come.
"Why are you distracted by the dead?" Hashirama's cold voice echoed in his ears, breaking him out of his trance. Sengoku cursed silently his lack of attention. With reflexes still intact, he coated his arms with Haki and crossed them over his chest in a defensive stance.
Hashirama, like a meteor descending from the sky, swooped down on Sengoku with a Haki-coated fist. The blow was fierce, hitting Sengoku's crossed arms with force.
A deafening roar shakes the island of Marineford, as if the sky itself has opened up to roar its fury. The impact of Hashirama's blow is so brutal that the ground beneath Sengoku's feet cracks instantly, turning into a spider's web of fractures that spreads at great speed.
The inspector's colossal body was hurled down like a projectile, unable to withstand the force of the fruit. A giant crater opens up where Sengoku had been standing.
The cracks spread throughout Marineford like war scars, snaking across the ground and up the walls of buildings. The entire island trembles under the impact, as if it is about to crumble.
A cloud of dust and dirt rises into the air, obscuring the sun and creating an apocalyptic atmosphere.
"What happened?" they ask each other, their voices trembling and full of disbelief. "How is this possible?" they lament, unable to comprehend the overwhelming force that has defeated their invincible leader.
The Marines who were evacuating quickly came to a halt, forced to witness the fall of their leader. Pain is reflected on their faces, and some of the weaker ones fall to the ground, overcome by fear and despair.
"Wh-who is he?" Drake, who had managed to escape the battlefield aboard a warship, observed the scene through a telescope, his heart pounding in his chest. Unable to believe what he saw, a feeling of helplessness washed over him.
His soul trembled at the image of Sengoku, defeated and humiliated by that man. His mind went blank, unable to process the magnitude of the tragedy he had witnessed.
Back with Hashirama.
"You are weak Sengoku.." Hashirama nodded in satisfaction when he saw Sengoku sunk and decided to end this.
Not wasting time. He raised his hands to the sky and, with a resounding applause that could be heard throughout Marineford, he shouted:
"Mokuton Hijutsu: Jukai Kōtan!" (Wood Release Secret Technique: Nativity of a World of Trees)
In that instant, the ground of Marineford began to shake violently. A strange sound, like the rustling of thousands of branches, filled the air. Small plants sprouted from the ground, growing at an incredible speed. In a matter of seconds, they transformed into imposing trees with intertwined roots that rose towards the sky.
The Marines watched the scene in awe and terror. They had never seen anything like it before. The trees grew uncontrollably, filling all of Marineford in the blink of an eye. The branches intertwined with each other, forming an impenetrable net that trapped the Marines inside.
"What's happening?" shouted a Marine, his voice full of panic as he watched the tree branches reach out to him like threatening tentacles.
"A terrifying ability!" exclaimed another, astonished by the overwhelming power emanating from the trees.
"How is this possible? Isn't this Admiral Ryokugyu's ability?" muttered a third, confused by the similarity to the admiral's technique.
The confusion didn't last long. Suddenly, a shrill cry pierced the air, breaking the sepulchral silence of the forest. All the Marines turned towards the source of the sound, horrified to see how a branch from one of the trees pierced a Marine's chest with brutal precision.
That was just the beginning. As if it were a fuse igniting an explosion, an endless barrage of attacks erupted across Marineford. The trees, now transformed into murderous monsters, indiscriminately attacked the Marines, strangling them with their branches, tearing off their limbs with cruelty, or crushing their heads with a brutal blow from their roots.
A bloodbath ensued, with screams and cries of pain echoing through the air. The once proud Marines were now reduced to helpless prey, their faces contorted in terror as they faced their impending doom.
