With Old Sugar staying on the island, there shouldn't be any problems for the time being.
This also serves as an opportunity to assess whether the other party is truly committed to joining our cause.
It's a win-win situation.
When Abel, accompanied by Baby-5, arrived once again at Jaya Island, the place was clearly bustling more than before.
The Crazy Bull Pirates, with a collective bounty of over one billion, were expanding their crew aggressively.
Many pirates with bounties of one or two million were tempted.
If they joined now, they could snag positions like captain. If Crazy Bull Michael became one of the next Supernovas and survived to reach the Sabaody Archipelago, they would share in the glory.
There are levels to hitching a ride to the top.
Those hanging between not too high or low, the big-time pirates with bounties in the hundreds of millions, they wouldn't glance at them.
Even if accepted into such crews, they wouldn't be valued – they'd be no different from cannon fodder.
And for those with bounties of forty to fifty million, they wouldn't deign to serve as underlings for their 'peers.'
So, the Crazy Bull Pirates were just right for them.
They had strength, not unreachable.
They had potential, and with their support, they might just make it to the New World!
Thus, many chose to join.
Inside a tavern in Mogura Town, the place was booming with people and exceptionally lively.
The Crazy Bull Pirates were celebrating there.
Even Crazy Bull Michael probably didn't expect his power to swell this quickly and smoothly.
He couldn't help but feel a burst of pride.
Risking it all to attack the marine base was the right move.
Otherwise, he wouldn't have a bounty of 92 million Berries or have made a name for himself so swiftly.
"From today onward, we are brothers on the same ship. This drink, to everyone!" declared Michael, a man dressed as a Western cowboy, standing up with fervor, hoisting his oversized mug overhead.
"To the Captain!"
Everyone stood up obligingly in unison, raising their mugs above their heads.
At the climax of the tavern's festive atmosphere, the door was pushed open from outside.
The laughter ceased abruptly as everyone turned to look.
They saw a young master, accompanied by a little maid, entering.
"Carry on, don't mind us."
"Hey boss, give us ten, no, twenty blueberry pies."
The tavern keeper kindly suggested, "I'm sorry, young man. We're not serving other customers today. If you wish for food, you might try the restaurant down the next street."
"Eh, what in the world? Since when does a business turn away customers? It's just twenty blueberry pies, I'll cover the cost. And get this 'Little Master' here twenty glasses of milk. No harm in going home full and satisfied, hahaha!" declared Hammer Hank, a pirate with a bounty of 18 million Berries, causing an uproar of laughter across the room.
Even Crazy Bull Michael couldn't help but chuckle, downing the drink in his glass without stopping his crew from having their fun.
What kind of people are we?
Merciless pirates!
Not the paragons of virtue and morals.
Bullying? That's nothing for them. Starting gunfire and killing at the drop of a hat is their norm.
Unexpectedly, the young man and woman at the door were unfazed by their intimidating demeanor and instead walked in and sat at the bar.
"Twenty blueberry pies and twenty glasses of milk, the short and stubby guy over there is paying. You heard him, so please hurry up."
Abel was also laughing. Angry? Far from it.
Why get angry with a bunch of dead men?
It would be more accurate to thank them for their generosity. Who wouldn't like free blueberry pies and milk?
With a bang!
Hammer Hank slammed his mug, shattering it on the table, "You brats have no idea what you're getting into. Who are you calling short and stubby?!"
"Who is that shouting excitedly like an underdeveloped monkey? Naturally, you know I'm talking about you."
"I'll flatten you right now!"
Hammer Hank was already a hot-tempered and irritable man; to be insulted and called a dwarf in front of so many people by some unknown newcomer was too much.
If he didn't react, he could forget about his standing within the Crazy Cows Pirate Crew, and no one would fear him again.
So, he picked up his huge half-human-height hammer and charged furiously.
By now, some had sensed that something was off, but since they had only just joined the same pirate crew, they remained indifferent due to selfish motives. Not one person advised Hammer Hank to be cautious; they all just watched with cold eyes.
"Hah!"
Hammer Hank raised his large hammer, his face twisted with cruelty as he smashed down towards Abel, seemingly visualizing his opponent crushed into a meat paste.
But reality proved it was just an illusion.
Not only did the imagined scene fail to happen, but what followed shocked him even more.
Abel casually extended his left hand and effortlessly blocked the incoming hammer blow.
Immovable and effortless.
"With such little strength, you also want to be a pirate at sea? Haven't you eaten? Maybe you should keep those twenty glasses of milk for yourself and see if you can grow another two centimeters."
"I'll kill you!"
Hammer Hank was fuming with rage, his eyes bloodshot.
But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't retrieve his hammer from his opponent's grip.
What did this mean?
It meant their strengths were not on the same level.
However, the others didn't see it that way.
"What the hell is Hank doing? Just smash and come back for a drink, right?"
"Could it be possible that Hank is in trouble?"
"No way, I'd rather believe he's toying with the other guy."
"Just wait and see; Hank should be showing his true skills any moment now."
...
What true skills Hammer Hank had, Abel didn't know.
He simply grasped the hammer's end and lifted it along with Hank on the other end, then slammed them both down hard on the ground.
Hammer Hank couldn't even react before he was knocked out cold.
Now, no one spoke in Hammer Hank's defense.
The recent events clearly indicated the vast difference in strength between them.
At that point, Crazy Cow Michael looked at Abel with much more seriousness.
"Do you know who we are, and you dare bring a little girl here? I'm starting to admire your bravery more and more."
"We're just a bunch of pirates; what's there to be afraid of coming here?"
"Are you with the navy, trying to capture me?"
"Thinking too much, I have nothing to do with the navy."
Abel flashed a grin, revealing his pearly whites, and suddenly smiled at his adversary: "Today, I only want to beat you to death or be beaten to death by you!"
