Chapter 80: Chaos

*CRACK!*
Whitebeard's Quake-Quake Fruit power stumbled through, it felt like the world was being destroyed as the air cracked like glass.
Waves rose high and hit Impel Down, just the foreplay of the attack would almost topple down the building that cannons couldn't do anything about.
Finally, a white translucent shockwave shot forward from Whitebeard's fist. It broke through the walls, causing the prison building to shake and crumble down like a sandcastle.
Even Marco, who had seen this many times already, was amazed by it. This power could destroy the world, and there was some truth to that. But even then, he knew that his old man didn't go all out, worried for Ace who was inside Impel Down.

Magellan and the others looked up in fear as they saw the ceiling fall on them and got a look at the sky.
"Damn, so even monsters like this exist…" said Magellan, remembering Shiki many years ago and how intimidating the man had been. But looking at this, he knew why the Golden Lion was never considered Roger's true rival.

At the same time in Marineford, Sengoku got the news. "What?!" He asked out in anger. "How could this happen?!"
He banged on his table in anger, shattering it in a hundred pieces. Garp, like always, was lazing on the couch and sleeping like nothing happened, he opened one of his eyes and saw what was happening and then closed it back again, going to sleep.
'Ace, it seems like you finally found a place to belong to.' - Thought Garp, while he would do his duty as a Marine, was now just an old man.
He won't be releasing Ace, but at the same time, he definitely won't stop anything Whitebeard might do now.
"Sending the Admirals will take hours!" Yelled out Sengoku in anger. "How the hell did the news of Ace's capture get out?!"
'I know he dyed his hair.' - He contemplated while looking at Sengoku and munching on some crackers. 'He probably only has all-white hair beneath that.'
Garp wasn't the kind of guy to worry about such things, his mind was mostly thinking about minor things of no consequence.
Worrying about Whitebeard's attack was the job of people with Admiral Rank or above. Plus, though he didn't admit it, Garp has been getting weaker with age. He was older than Whitebeard and after a certain age, the body doesn't work as it used to.
Even Haki got weaker as people got to a certain age. Unlike Whitebeard and Sengoku who had Devil Fruits to depend on even in their old age, Garp was different. He didn't have a Devil Fruit, and while Whitebeard would still be strong without his fruit, he wouldn't be dangerous like someone who had a Devil Fruit at that age.
Still, by no means was Garp weak, but he could feel his age catching up with him. Every day, his body would get weaker and weaker, his Haki wasn't what it once was. If he had been in his prime, one punch would be enough to finish someone like Max, but now he wasn't able to finish off a brat like him. Especially since Max had the advantage with his Awakening.
Though Garp never worried about such things, after all, if there was a fight that he needed to win… then he would win it no matter what. That confidence is something that has developed over tens of thousands of fights with the strongest people in the world, both past, and present. If he needed to win, then his Haki would respond to his emotions.
To him, it wasn't something complicated, and that single-mindedness allowed his strength to keep up even with this old body.

While the World Government was panicking at Whitebeard's sudden attack, the old man himself was at Impel Down. A bloody Magellan laid below him as his crew members were all with him.
While Magellan's poison would be dangerous to anyone else, even Whitebeard. But with his Tremor-Tremor Fruit, no poison could even touch him before the shockwave had hit Magellan head-on. Not a lot of people out there can handle the old man's attacks.
"Let's go and get Ace," Whitebeard said, holding his halberd in one hand and a white bubble of rippling power appeared in his other hand.
He then punched down.
BOOOOOOOOM!!!
The shockwave traveled through, destroying all five floors of Impel Down in an instant. Everyone landed on their feet as they reached Level 6 of Impel Down.
Looking around there were a lot of people imprisoned here, none of them said anything. Why? Because they knew about Whitebeard and knew that the man wasn't someone you should mess with. Also expecting mercy from him was the wrong choice too. Even the ones who wanted to say something were stopped by the others, no one wanted to anger the old man, else he could easily sink them all to death. This prison was underwater, so any of Whitebeard's attacks down here would be disastrous.
But as the old pirate walked through the prison, he saw many criminals. But he didn't see Ace, and in the end, he noticed that Jinbe was there.
"Pops," called out the Fishman. "Ace… isn't here. People took him away yesterday, it seemed like the World Government predicted your attack."
Whitebeard clenched his hand tightly and an enraged look appeared on his face. "Free Jinbe, let the others rot here."
Crocodile was also in one of the cells, but he didn't say anything. The last thing he would want is to be saved by a man he hated.
…
In the end, the Whitebeard Pirates left Impel Down without Ace. But as a farewell gift, the old man sunk the prison to the seafloor. Killing all the prisoners, guards, and Magellan within it.
The only survivor from this incident was Jinbe… This had been a clear message to the World Government that he wouldn't play their games and Whitebeard would destroy anything in his way till Ace was back.
Enies Lobby was destroyed and so was Impel Down, everyone could guess who would be on the list next. That was the third and final Marine stronghold, it was Marineford.

While this was all happening, Max had gone to the New World and overthrown a couple of Kingdoms. The news in comparison to what Whitebeard and Luffy had done was not something outrageous. Countries fall and rise constantly, but the World Government would always stand tall.
Though that has all changed now. Whitebeard would be at the forefront, taking all the credit… all the blame really. While Max moved in the shadows.
Currently, he was in a certain part of the New World that no Marines dared to go in. Negan looked at the red water and put his hand down, some water splashing on his palm as small waves hit the ship. "This water tastes like jam."
"Yeah," agreed Max, walking next to his friend. "The whole area around Tottoland. Big Mom is known for her love of sweet things."
"That and her monstrous strength," added Raynare as she joined in on the conversation. "I don't like the plan. Are you sure everything will work out?"
"Don't worry," Max reassured her with a smile. "Worst case scenario we have to fight our way out."
Her face paled at this while Negan smirked. "That would be fun, I heard the Big Mom pirates had monsters like Katakuri with over a Billion Beri bounties. I always wondered how I would fare against them?"
"You would lose terribly," Max answered without missing a beat. "You have a chance against the other Big Mom's Sweet Commanders, but Katakuri is a whole other deal. Also, remember we aren't going there for a fight."
"Yeah, because coming in with a Marine flag raised, going into their territory without warning shows that we are friendly," Negan said sarcastically. "C'mon, let's be honest here, you wanna fight too don't ya?"
Negan's bloodthirsty smirk didn't change Max's demeanor at all, he only had a small gentle smile on his face. "Some things need a little more tact to be seen through, and opportunity is everything in these situations."
"...." he looked like Max just spoke a foreign language. "I have no idea what you just said. Can you simplify it a little?"
"We beat up a couple of her string subordinates to show Big Mom and we are strong enough to negotiate," the Vice Admiral explained as if speaking to a dumb child.
"Now that's just mean," Negan whined, but that didn't last long as an exciting look appeared on his face, adrenaline moving through his veins.
