A Guest

After what seemed like forever, Jane called. She can't sit down around doing nothing anymore.

"Hello Lisa?"

"Hello Jane. How are ya?"

"You know I should be the one asking you that right."

Lisa sighed and pinched the middle of her brows. "I'm fine. There's nothing to worry about anymore."

"H..how do you mean?"

"We've already handled everything. They're no more paparazzis and everything is okay now. I'm okay."

"But how did you do it so fast."

"We just did it and that's all."

"Oh..okay." She sighed a bit relief. "And your parents?"

"They're all good. There's nothing to worry about."

She breathed in complete relief. "Okay. Thank goodness."

"And granny and uncle. How are they?"

"They're okay. They were completely worried about you."

"Okay. Just tell them everything is fine now. There's actually nothing to worry about anymore."

"I will. Lisa, I'm really sorry. I just can't help but feel guilty."

"It's okay. I've told you that you don't have to apologize. I'm fine now. Just try and get some rest."

"Okay. I will, and you too."

"Hmm. Bye."

"Bye."

Jane headed downstairs to tell her grandma and her father about what Lisa told her earlier.

"Thank goodness she's alright." Her grandma said in a relief.

"Yes grandma. I'm also happy."

"I think you also need to get some rest dear. It's dark now and you need to regain your energy. I know you've been worried sick about your friend. So you need to regain all your strength back from all the drama." Her dad added. She nodded and kissed them good bye.

Before placing a feet on a stair, a knock came at the door making her halt her steps. Her parents including her were astound as to whom will be knocking on the door by this time.

"Open it dear." Her grandma said. She nodded and did so.

Jane's eyes widened in complete surprise. Her whole body went completely frozen. Was she dreaming? Who was she seeing at the doorstep? What the hell is going on within in her mind.

"Good evening Jane." A voice as calm as the calm sea, deep and husky said.

"G... good evening to you too." She said without blinking an eye. Her eyes and her body still can't withstand who she was seeing.

"May I come in?" Those sentences alone sent chills to her body, her heart thudding loud within her chest as if it's going to pop out anytime soon.

"Yes. You....you may." She said and created a little path for him to walk pass.

"Good evening Mrs Hien and Mr Ken." He greeted slightly bowing down to them as he walked in. Both her parents stood up immediately as they caught a glance at who was at the door. When they still stood there looking utterly surprised, he continued. "I'm Francis."

"Wow." Her grandma said walking up very fast to meet him with a wide smile on her face. "Wow." She added again as she touched him. "You're even more handsome than what I just saw on TV. Handsome than anyone I've set eyes on. Wow."

He nooded slightly at her. His expressionless gaze not changing a thing.

"Welcome Mr Francis." Jane's father said.

"Thank you sir."

"Please have a sit." He said motioning him to sit on a chair, and the young man nodded and sat down.

Jane still stood by the door side frozen not knowing what to do or say.

"What can I get you my dear?" Her grandma asked with a wide smile on her face.

"I'm okay ma'am." He said calmly with a crossed leg.

"No, no, no my dear, you're a guest. This is the first time you're here, so I have to get you something."

"Okay, if you insist. I'll have water."

She nodded and smiled at him. "Okay dear. Just a minute." Few meters away from the kitchen, she halted her steps and turned to Jane. "Jane my dear. Please sit down and stop standing there like you've seen a ghost or something." Jane nodded slightly and sat down to seat close to Francis. Her heart thudded wilder in her chest and little drop of sweats forming on her forehead.

"Uhm, you're welcome Mr Francis." Her father said as he sat down.

The young man nodded and averted his gaze to the still frozen girl by his side. "Are you okay?" He asked. She subconsciously swallowed and nodded.

When their eyes met, she couldn't help but gape even more. He was even more handsome than from afar. His dark eyes, his onyx dark hair, his well defined muscular face, his nose, his thin lips, it was all too good. It was all too perfected before her eyes. It was as if the world stopped spinning for her. Her thudded heart increased its pace even more. 'Oh my. How can a man be this beautiful?' she asked herself.

"You.... you're welcome." She managed to speak.
