Huobai was done. Like done… done. They were all crazy. But somehow they managed to include him in their stupid talks and pointless nights watching TV.
Even his high school friends were like that. They never invited him home or wanted to visit his home. They were afraid of his money. But those people, they weren't.
One day he saw Chao just casually taking out new clothes that he bought together with Yitian. It was something like a team uniform, even though it was just trousers and a shirt with a hoodie. But they were all brand clothes, from a very famous designer. And he just paid for five of them, like that. Without a blink of an eye.
Spoiled brat.
Their days were pretty hectic, though. They always woke up, had breakfast, and went to school. Thankfully, they all had similar schedules. But in the afternoon, they all finished differently.
Yitian was almost all the time coming home late in the evening. Chao was home first, sometimes it was Yixing. And Huobai usually finished just before the sunset.
They would play or do what they needed to school. And their days went just like that, over and over again. Only on Monday, they were watching movies instead of playing in the evening.
Chao said it was because they needed to get closer for better teamwork. But they usually argued about what they would play. So their teamwork was catastrophic the day after.
"Are you hungry?" Yixing asked Huobai, getting up from his chair. Today was one of those rare days when Chao and Yitian came back together pretty late. So, Yixing and Huobai were left alone in the house.
"I'm a bit. Are you going to do something?" Huobai asked when his stomach rumbled so hard it could be heard in Japan.
"I…" Yixing stopped and Huobai raised his brow, waiting for an answer. Could it be that Yixing couldn't drink?
'Impossible.' Huobai laughed to himself and smiled at him.
"I will," Yixing said firmly, and walked to the kitchen. Huobai watched him roaming around, looking for things, and somehow, deep inside his mind, a bad feeling appeared.
Yixing found those ramen noodles he always saw in commercials and which Yitian stashed away. He looked at the back of it and read those instructions.
It didn't look that hard to make. So he took out one more for Huobai and took out all the things he needed for cooking them. He turned the stove on and put the pot on. He poured water inside and then waited.
Finally, when bubbles appeared he put all the packages and noodles there, and because he had to wait, he went back to his computer.
Huobai didn't even turn his head around, because he was too immersed in his arena fight. There was a new patch in the game that allowed players to join in the arena as spectators and watch some interesting duels.
"Of course I wouldn't deprive you of my voice…" Huobai laughed and Yixing realized he was streaming his match, so he tried to keep quiet.
But the match was really interesting. Yixing walked into the arena that looked like an ancient Roman colosseum and sat on the seats that were carved out of stone.
Huobai was just sending a powerful spell to his opponent, but it missed him and it looked like Huobai wasn't good, skilled. But Yixing knew what was going on. He wasn't surprised when a red circle appeared above and underneath the opposing brawler. The magic of the circles entwined together and caught the brawler inside. When he tried to run through the circle, he bounced back and writhed in agony.
Another blue circle appeared and blue flames ate up the brawler alive. And the cinematic graphic looked so good, almost real. Yixing could actually swear he smelled something burning. He frowned, sniffing around. Yes, he definitely smelled something burning.
"Isn't something burning?" Huobai asked Yixing, ignoring that he was in the stream and they were keeping his joining-them a secret.
"You smell it too?" he asked, confused, looking around. But then he remembered when he saw white smoke in the kitchen, just as the smoke alarm started screaming at the entire apartment.
Both Huobai and Yixing were sitting there for a few seconds, thinking about what was just happening, when they both threw away their headsets and ran to the kitchen.
Huobai was the firm one to turn off the stove and Yixing was standing on the counter in a matter of seconds, trying to turn the alarm off.
But he had no idea how to do it. Yixing let his hands fall down and he showed Huobai helpless, confused gaze.
"Turn it off, there has to be some button there!" Huobai was shouting, so he could be heard.
Yixing looked at the alarm, but he did not know which button to use, so he did only one thing he could think of. He slapped the alarm out of the holder, making it fall down.
He tried to catch it as a last resort, so it wouldn't fall on the ground and break. But he only lost his footing on the smooth, slippery counter and started falling himself.
Huobai was only watching him from down there, blinking, unable to comprehend if this was just a stupid joke, or reality. He woke up and decided to help Yixing out and catch him falling down.
Well, at least he wanted to do it. But Yixing was heavier than he looked, and Huobai's legs weren't as strong as before. So they both ended up on the ground, their limbs tangled up.
"Did you use candles while having wild sex, or is there a reason why the fire alarm was on?" Chao's voice appeared out of nowhere, and Huobai swore.
He tried to get up, but he couldn't because there was a heavy body laying on him. Huobai laid his head down and the heavy body rolled over without a word.
"I think I hurt my shoulder," Yixing said, his voice emotionless. Huobai quickly sat up and looked at Yixing, who was holding his right shoulder.
"You are forbidden to cook ever again! Never!" Huobai got up and stormed off to his room. He was so scared, it wasn't his fault, right?
Huobai knew Yixing fell on his right shoulder just because of him. Because he didn't want to end up on Huobai. He moved to the side to make a bigger impact.
And that was only because Huobai wanted to help him. But messed it up… he shouldn't have meddled into his things. He would never do it again.
'He was here because of Yitian, and that was it. Nothing else.' Huobai thought and put his hand on his chest. His heart jumping out of its place.
... Yep... :D Yixing can't cook... like... at all. Because of his lack of patience :D
