What is the thing that can turn ugly people beautiful, weak into strong and mortal a divine existence? It's the system He found his way to survive. He channeled all of his excess mana into his system, mutating it... evolving it to something unprecedented, something unforeseen, something that has endless potential. "I greet the judge." the big guy declared as he kneeled in front of Aster.

"I, a humble peasant, dare to greet the judge." the smaller guy speaks as he followed the big guy's lead and kneeled on the ground.

The big guy kneeled on one knee and tilted his torso downwards while the small guy did so with both of his knees and was practically lying on the ground.

Auryon's mouth twitched as she saw this unusual scene. It's not everyday that she got to see specters of the dead bowing down to someone.

She stole a glance at Aster.

'Is he a specter master? No, that's impossible considering he is a warrior mage hybrid. That alone is rare enough but controlling specters on top of that?'

'And why can the specters speak? Who is this guy?'

Meanwhile, Aster was facing a dilemma. He used [True sight] but he couldn't understand the carvings on their soul, just like the demons.

He was sweating buckets since he felt like he had to get the all mighty judge gig going on.

'When will I be able to use this on spiritual beings? Will I be able to do it if it levels up?'

After a fierce and fast internal battle, he gave up on keeping a facade.

"What are your names?" He finally asked.

"My name is Max, sir judge. I used to serve in the army of the Empire, a couple of years back. One day, I was put under a platoon that mostly took on escort missions. Our mission was to safeguard a ship that was heading towards an anonymous location.

We were doing just fine when that fiend came and informed us that our mission was completed. Me and my companions did not fall to his petty tricks so we raised our arms against him which got us killed.

I woke up in a grandiose white hall that bore a resemblance to the emperor's hall. Then I was visited by an angel, I kid you not, an actual angel.

Her supple lips, her smooth skin and her heavenly voice. Everything about her was perfect, no woman had ever had me feeling like this, this feeling like being on a chokehold. I would have done everything for her if she asked, even going to a war against heaven itself to claim her-"

"Skip, skip to the next part." Aster exclaimed in exasperation.

'Bro, no one wants to hear about your crush.'

"But heavenly voice huh, interesting."

"Did she tell you anything? What were you doing up there?"

"I was just getting to that part." Max lamented.

'No, you were not. Unless you spend another dozen paragraphs about how you want her to peg you.'

For a second, Max emitted a hostile aura which caused Aster to flinch. He did not have any experience fighting against ghosts with no bodies so he felt a bit scared of him.

In reality though, Max was not angry at him but rather himself. He was torn between wanting to brag about his crush but keeping her glory to himself so he wouldn't have any competitions.

Eventually, the latter side won and he ceased his hostility.

"No matter, just tell me." Aster says as he materialized a few dozen fireballs and then made them spin around him.

He directed his gaze elsewhere and stared at his palms.

Wind hissed as a miniature tornado formed on his hands.

"Don't worry, I'm listening." He felt like appearing busy might make them feel more at ease rather than just staring blankly.

"*Sigh* She said if I wanted revenge against that demon, power to vanquish evil."

"What did you say?"

"I said I didn't want that kind of power."

"Hmm?" Aster glanced at him. He certainly didn't seem the type to turn down an offer of power.

"I said to her. 'I bear no ill intent towards that fiend as my death has brought me closer to you. If I had known my death would bring a beauty like you to me then I would have jumped off a building as soon as I could walk.

Please marry me'."

Aster snickered a bit. 'Didn't seem the type to turn down an offer of power my ass, he's just a simp.'

"What did she say?"

His head drooped down and he said with barely audible, low voice; "She declined."

"BWAHAHA"

Aster, Max and the small guy all flinched. They had forgotten she was there.

'How does she do it? I can't sense her presence unless she makes a move or a noise first.'

"Don't worry about me, just continue on." She urged Max.

"Anyways, what happened next?"

Max regained his vigor and fixed his stature. He remained still for a few moments and said;

"I don't remember."

Aster's face snapped towards him. "How, how do you not remember? You perfectly remembered the angel's appearance and your lame confession."

Max's eyes turned to slits.

"I mean, I do not remember what happened exactly after that, but the next thing I knew was that I was sparring with a very manly man."

"Also, what do you mean by 'lame confession'? I can see you never confessed to a girl so how do you know it's lame? I bet my dog's ashes that you will cook up something much worse in the heat of the moment."

"Uhmm, the angel said we would become something called an einherjar if we wished to." The small guy intercepted. He didn't even get to talk except for his very humiliating greetings.

"Ho, what is this einherjar?" Aster talked towards the young man, seemingly around him in age or a bit older.

"The angels there did not say the specifics but they said that it's for a greater cause. We were subjected to hellish training if we consented."

"There were academies and if we worked really hard, we were granted with the knowledge and skills of dead warriors belonging to our respective halls."

'Academies, ehh? Miss Silver said something about academies but I'm pretty sure those are not what she meant.'

His expression darkened.

'Where is she now? Is she ok? Couldn't she have checked up on me at least once while I was in the hospital?'

"What is your name?" He asked the small guy. He was nicknamed the small guy because he was the shortest here, approximately 160 cm while everyone else was above 170 cm.

"My name is Mordred sir! Thank you for asking!"

"Alright Mordred, you can stop your report here." He said as he saw Mordred open his mouth.

'I'm not in the mood for more information right now.'

"Alright, I have judged you two worthy." He notified them.

"You two will be on the jury from now on. Let's work together from now on!"
