FIRST KISS

Terrence walked around, but he had nowhere to go.

His only choice was to either walk out of the main gate leading to the street or stay in the grassy part located on the right side of the hall.

Even though he was tempted to follow his first choice, Terrence chose the latter.

He thought he would just clear his mind and go inside the hall again. He knew that his mother would be worried by now. And, he also does not want to miss what would happen inside.

If ever Abigail would be chosen, he does not want to miss the opportunity to see his sister's happy face.

Terrence wanted to be there for his sister.

Walking towards the right side, Terrence noticed a large-sized stone structure in the middle of the grassy area. It was a cut out of a stone that was flat on top.

He went there and sat on it.

Terrence sighed deeply and looked up.

His eyes were blinded by the bright sky. He placed his left hand on top of his face, making a shade.

He stared at the sun.

They said you cannot stare at the sun for too long or you'll be blind. Terrence wanted to know if that was true.

However, after a couple of seconds, his eyes started to ache, and he had no choice but to close his eyes and stare at the ground.

Somehow, what he did calmed his mind.

'Am I turning into a maso?' His eyes widened slightly. He realized what he did was a weird way of relaxing.

Now that his mind was clearer, he thought, why did he even leave the hall?

Why was he disappointed when he learned that Natalie was part of a political family?

Terrence knew that he wouldn't be affected if it was just nothing.

'Was it because I already treat Natalie as my dear friend, so I felt disappointed when she didn't even introduce herself properly to me?' Terrence sighed.

Even he was 50-50 with that answer.

'But now that Natalie is part of a political family, then what do I do? Her father too…' Terrence firmly closed his eyes.

He could still remember it.

Natalie's father was one of the Senators who approved of their team in the past. He was one of the reasons why the 'Mission for Life' unit was created.

He has met Fred a lot in his past life. Aside from the President, who had been keeping their orders, Fred was like the third in command.

He was the one to oversee how their team was doing, together with William's father.

However, Terrence did not know that Fred had a child.

It was a gossip in their office that Fred was divorced by his two wives because his pp couldn't stand up.

It seems like that wasn't true since he had Natalie.

'I wonder if Natalie knew about everything in my past life…' The idea slipped into Terrence's mind.

'Oh, well…' Terrence took a deep breath before opening his two eyes.

He was shocked to see that he wasn't alone anymore.

"What are you doing here?" That was the first thing that came out of his mouth when he saw Natalie.

Natalie looked at him with pleading eyes. Her lips were pouted. She was staring at Terrence as if she was guilty of something.

"I'm sorry…" Natalie breathed in a low voice.

Natalie had no clue that Terrence would know her real identity this way. She planned to tell Terrence the truth once they were alone, but she couldn't find the right time for that.

"Why are you even sorry?" Terrence sarcastically questioned. He eyed Natalie from up to down.

Terrence could see wealth and money just from staring at Natalie alone. It's much different from how he usually see her.

He wanted to be happy now that he had made connections. However, knowing that Natalie's father was probably one of the reasons why he and his family died in the past, sent him to oblivion.

Natalie's hand fidgeted. "I am not planning on hiding it from you…" her words came out in a low voice. "I just don't have the perfect opportunity to tell it.

"Forget what I said," Terrence answered. His voice and emotions weren't fazed by how Natalie acted.

"What do you mean?" Natalie asked. Her forehead creased as she looked at Terrence.

Terrence looked at Natalie before a sigh escaped from his mouth. He tilted his head to the side. "I have no right to be mad at you." He stood up when he realized how he had been acting.

He had been acting way out of his boundaries, and he didn't like that.

Natalie tilted her head to the side. "Of course not, Terrence…" she paused for a while before continuing. "You're my friend," she uttered.

"I know. That's why it's fine if you kept that." Terrence shrugged his shoulders. "It's not like we knew each other for so long, too. It's just been what? Days?" He chuckled.

Now that Terrence realized it, it was stupid for him to react in a matter as small as this. He sighed one more time to calm his head.

"W-What are you saying, Terrence?" Natalie's voice trembled. She was hurt by what Terrence had uttered. It was as if he didn't even value the days they knew each other.

Terrence smiled at Natalie. Now, it was genuine. "It's fine, Natalie. Now, should we enter back again? I'm sure my parents are looking for me. I know that's the same case with you, too."

Natalie shook her head. She wanted to speak up and say no, but she couldn't open her mouth.

When Terrence saw that Natalie was just staring at her, he looked around. 'It seems like Natalie needs some space,' he thought.

"I'll go first, then." Terrence turned around and was about to walk away when a strong grip of hand stopped his shoulders.

Natalie bit her lower lips as she stopped Terrence from taking a step. "Don't leave,"

Terrence's eyes landed on Natalie's face as he turned back to face her. He stared at her face until his eyes were slowly drawn to Natalie's lips.

When Natalie saw Terrence's eyes, her cheeks reddened. She looked at him with full determination. She gathered her strength to do what she wanted to do since they first met.

Terrence's eyebrows formed a line when Natalie took a step, closing their distance.

"Natalie…" he breathed out.

However, it was as if Natalie was lost in her own thoughts. She just stared at Terrence and crossed the remaining distance between them after a few seconds.

She tiptoed before she encircled her arms around Terrence's neck.

Natalie looked at Terrence one more time before closing her eyes. And with a fast beating heart, she leaned unto Terrence until their lips touched each other.
