Chapter 7: That's not right...

(A/N: Sorry for the delay.)

"Psst! Hey, kiddo!"

My eyes fluttered open as I frowned in annoyance. Lifting my head up from the ground, I wince slightly by the stiff muscles in my neck but continued on to look at my fellow prisoner.

Oh, he's standing.

Actually, he was free of his binds and standing.

Cain, the stormtrooper, was now free of his bindings and was standing a few feet away. Despite the lack of facial features, presumably due to his helmet, I felt as if he was smugly looking at me with a shit-eating grin. Just the thought caused my cheek to twitch, but I quickly shook it off and stared at him with a raised eyebrow.

"What are you doing?"

"Heh? What's it look like I'm doing?!"

"Wanting to get shot and killed." I replied, my mouth forming into a smug grin. Cain body flinched slightly at my words before he grunted in response and made his way towards me. "I'm escaping dumbass, and you should too." I remained seated as he crouched down beside me and grabbed hold of the bindings around my wrist.

"A few kilometers from here is a spaceport called Mos Espa," He raised one of his hands to reveal a sharp-looking rock as he continued, "We need to travel a little way, so I reckon we should get a head start, before our fellow captors learn about our disappearance." As he spoke, he was vigorously rubbing the sharp end of the rock against the bindings on my wrist.

"How long of a walk?"

"Not sure...Maybe a day or two?"

I grimaced in response to his words and just as I was about to open my mouth. I noticed a familiar line of text appear before my very eyes.

[Greetings! Your daily rewards are awaiting your retrieval.]

I felt a glimmer of expectation go through me, but it was quickly squashed when I remember the whole ordeal from earlier. I licked my lips in nervousness as my eyes gravitated back toward Cain. He was still cutting through my bindings, giving me enough time to open up my rewards. Yet, with the current lack of hands, I tried to mentally accept my reward.

Thankfully my idea worked, and another line of text appeared.

[Daily Rewards have been accepted!]

[Congratulations, you have received one banana!]

Mother-

[Congratulations, you have received "How to be a Jedi" For Dummies Edition!]

All thoughts of anger quickly washed from my system when I received my next award. I mentally thanked the system, but a new line of text quickly quelled my growing excitement.

[Congratulations, you have received 2323ERROR1324234ERROR!]

(Error? What the fucks is that?)

[2323ERROR1324234ERROR, has been selected.]

(Huh?)

[WARNING! SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONING! COMMENCING SHUTDOWN!]

(Wait! Shutdown! Hello? Hello! Hey, give me my fucking Jedi handbook!)

Instead of getting a new text, I was greeted by Cain, who was staring at me. I could see that the rest of my bindings were cut.

"Umm, are you okay?"

I unclenched the muscles in my jaw as I replied, "Yeah, I'm fine." Cain slowly nodded his head at my response before standing up and turning his back to me. I raised an eyebrow at his gesture, but instantly felt my jaw drop, when he started sprinting away from me.

"Leg it!"

Flabbergasted, I quickly scrambled to my feet, before I chased after him. It only took me a few steps, before an ear-piercing alarm rang out within the ravine.

"Run Brett! RUN!"

"I AM RUNNING!" I roared back as I quickly caught up with Cain. Due to his armor, his restrictions were somewhat limited, reducing his speed by a margin. Suddenly, the ear-piercing alarm was silenced and the sound of running footsteps sounded behind us. I took a quick peek behind my shoulder and felt my blood run cold. Rushing after us, with a blaster in hand, was the Mandalorian himself.

I snapped my head back toward Cain, and raised my hand towards him, the tingling erupted in my mind and Cain was lifted off his feet. I ignored his screams of fright, as I sprinted forward, using the force to keep Cain floating beside me.

"Woah! How are you doing this!"

"Shut up!"

I ran around another boulder, as the deep roar of an engine suddenly came to life. I refused to turn back around, due to Cain now commentating what was happening behind me.

"Hurry! That Mandalorian dude his catching up!"

(Shit, that's not good!)

"I think he's about to shoot at us?"

A second after he finished his sentence, a blaster went off behind me, before a red beam went past my head. I stumbled in surprise and quickened my pace in fear of being shot. I heard another shot and flinched as the ground beside me erupted in dirt and fire. I jumped over a rock and noticed that the ground was changing from clay to sand. Relief flooded through me when I noticed large sand dunes a few yards away.

Just as freedom was drawing near, I felt a tingling sensation in the back of my mind, before my body instantly froze. Cain, who was flying next to me, flew forward and slid across the sandy floor. As Cain spew profanities, I tried to break free, but it only resulted in me being lifted off my feet and levitated backward. I flew past Din, who was now walking toward Cain. The stormtrooper himself was shaking in fear, as he raised his hands in surrender. Yet, before I could witness what happens next, I was spun around and placed back onto my feet in front of someone. I found myself staring into a pair of pale blue eyes.

"And who might you be?"

I found my brain suddenly halt to a stop, as my very being tried to process who was in front of me.

Sporting the familiar pair of lekkus' (head tails) she had red skin with white pigmentation around her eyes and brow. Currently, she had a playful smile as she brought me closer towards her.

"Now, tell me," She raised her other hand and placed a surprisingly calloused hand against my cheek, "What is your name?"

I could have answered her with my name.

Yet, due to the sudden surprise of her appearance, and the lack of a proper response.

I decided to blurt out a name.

"S-S-Shaak Ti!"

The woman's eyes widened as she yanked her hand away from my face.

"How...How do you know me?"

(Fuck.)
