Trip to the Library 3 End

"..Kytten." Max was suprised at the name. But it popped into his head at the last second. The image of a child peeking out of a backpack seemed to chuckle before disappearing. 'Haa, Interdimensional creatures popping around, at least they did not seem bored.'

"Kytten.. Ky..tten. I like it." The cat sounded it out nodding. "At least it is not Tabby. Or Socks. I am sleepy though. Feel full."

"It will pass in a few days. Go ahead and rest if you need to." Max said softly. The kitten sniffed the air and circled pass the other two. Catching their scents to memory was enough. It disappeared into Max's forehead. Two lights, a green and blue shined before vanishing. 'Oh, wish to still "view" while slumbering. I understand .'

Max.. what did it just do?" Sister Shakti asked. She was disappointed to not be able to play with the kitten. 'I have an excuse to come around more. So adorable.'

"Marking you. It knows you to be friendly for now." Max turned to leave. With a wave of his hand, a small disc appeared. "Come on, time to get to the end." The two stepped onto the platform tentatively. Grabbing Max's arm each as it moved.

.

A few hours later-

.

The trio came across a chamber deep below. Two large statues that face one another. One with a Greatsword, the other with a Warhammer. The architecture was old and worn out. But Max likes the way it looks. A spell was cast to copy the imagery. Another is to start disabling enchantments that would cause harm.

A podium in front of the large double doors had a book on it. The Legendary Book Merkisedek. Shizuna and Sister Shakti were told to go nowhere near the platform. They did feel a somewhat weird look from the statues.

A bookshelf on the side had Max's immediate attention. A lot of books that had not been touched or opened in decades. He cracked them open and cast a few spells to start copying the nonprotected ones.

"We will take a short rest." Shizuna said. Max waved his hand creating a bad for the two to rest on. They were not hungry due to the magic from before still. Exhaustion was still there however. "A comfy bed. Why is it so peaceful?"

"Angel feathers." Max mumbled.

"What?" Sister Shakti asked. She thought she heard wrong. "I think I heard wrong."

"You did not. They are made of Angel Feathers. Sleeping on it, will allow you to face an inner monster. Fallen Angel Feathers work on .. the corrupt. Which neither you two are." Max placed a book back and grabbed one enchantment that was broken. "Just sleep and face a fear already."

The two women just shrugged at this point. Laying down, they were asleep in an instant. Max had a ball of light leave his chest. It took the form of a woman that circled the two. As if inspecting them critically.

She continued as they started to squirm about. After a few minutes of this, she went back to Max. Hovering over his shoulder reading what he was reading. Once the book he had was done, it was placed back on the shelf. A copy in his hand that the woman took.

This continued for a few hours till all the books were done. Which didn't take to long considering the amount magical hands thumbed through the books. The enchantment on the stage was long since done.

"Haaa, all done." Max sighed as he turned to his boss. "Lady Gaia, how are you?"

"Fine." Gaia smiled. She observed her champion for a moment now that he was not preoccupied. "Enjoying things?" Max nodded. "That is good. When "this" is finally over, the next place is quite dangerous. Enjoy the time you have. But you defintely look happy. Even have nice work done already."

"Of course. The reminder is nice. I will see you when the review happens yes?" Gaia gave him a nod. "I will make sure to have satisfactory results. Well, till later."

"What you have now is satisfactory actually. The quality is much better due to age. But more is just icing on the cake as they say. I will take a nap till then. Nothing that needs my attention anywhere. Which is always nice." She floated into Max. Buried deep in his soul like always. 'I like the little kitten. Such a fine familiar.'

'Alright.' Max waved his hands and pulled the book to him. A quick scan revealed it to be a simple arcane book. But nonsense nonetheless. "Tch, a waste of time." Placing it back, he stepped on the platform and stomped down hard. "I am not taking a loss with what I have obtained. There is still more, has to be!"

*Thump!* Amplified by magic, the platform crumbled.

"Time to go deeper." Max pulled the bed behind him and went down to the "Deep Library." He repaired the platform as he went down. Fluttering below, was a large building that looks to be another library. Several bookshelves are all over the place. "To see it in person is quite a trip."

The bookshelves were handmade for the most part. Some looked crude and some looked amazing. Different cultural styles for the majority of them. None of the books were damaged due to the water. Enchantments to preserve them of course.

Large roots climbed to the ceiling and several little mounds of dirt. A powerful magic was in the area. But also harmful in a way as it also eroded the protection in the place. Inconsistent bursts as well.

"Tch, can not have this sloppiness. Guess I can do something since I am acquiring such knowledge. And can make it easier for others who come down here." Max spread his hands and performed a series of spells. "Arms of the Septum."

Out of his back, 12 additional arms appeared. Each weaving spells as he chanted. His two actual arms weaved protection. For himself, Sister Shakti, and Shizuna. The first two weaved the spell to organize.

"..temesasayi ina yeti inidemīzamedu yalubeti bota.." the cases nearby started to float to a better location. In English, it roughly meant (Location of what is same, and what relates.)

The next four did the hardest spell.

"..lemasitekakeli gini mulu hono lemek'oyet.. lemetekati gini iwinetawi isike iwineti new.." pieces in the area returned to the correct parts. Magic filled in the location long since destroyed. In English, it roughly meant (To fix but to remain whole. To replace but remain true to the essence.)

The next two created areas for it that were stable. Better foundation and repairing the slightly damaged spells. It required no full incantation.

"..Repair and restore.."

The last, was the one for power. The loose mana was mixed with Time essence. Which was something very beneficial for Gaia. As well as himself. He would not leave it here.

"..inē gēta nenyina gīzēni sebisibu yegēya shamipīyoni ina yemidiri tekelakay ḫayiliwoni yarazimu weyimi yat'al.." Max felt a slight pain in his arms. The amount of magic he used was a lot. But, what was available was to much to pass up. "Haaa.. that was something else."

In English, it roughly meant (Gather time to me, for I am its master. Champion of Gaia, and defender of Earth. Lend your power, or have it stripped away.)

*Woom!* As the magic weaved around, Max calmed his mind and started probing all the books with out a care in the world. The familiar Kytten woke up and created a few thousand human cat hybrids of Max. It moved about copying every book to help.

A few hours passed as everything went underway. Shizune and Sister Shakti were out cold still. Apparently, the two had a lot going on mentally. If they did not ask Max specifically for help, he would leave it be.

.

Heading out-

.

Having gather what he needed and copied every book, Max ended the spell and woke the two up. At one point, he didn't know when they had actually just fallen asleep. Finishing whatever fears they had, and just enjoying the bed itself.

Kytten had frolicked about and had the cat copies of Max, pick up several discarded items. They were pulled into a magic bag and thrown into Max's inventory space. As well as the bed.

"Ready to go?" Max looked at the two refreshed women once they were finally awake. They nodded agreeing. Wanting to see natural light after the last day or two. They didn't really pay attention to it. Since they at least knew it was taken care of topside. Magical copies were filled in while they traveled with Max. "Grab hold then."

"What about that building." Sister Shakti pointed to the building that looked undisturbed. "Not going into it?"

"Nope. Nothing of value at this time." Max couldn't remember what the building had. But it couldn't be too important. He also had several books to actually read and other things to do. "Do you not want to go back to actual work?"

"Trick question?" Shizuna asked. She was serious. "I am more than in need of a vacation. Which I think I will do to study more magic. If that is not a problem teacher?"

"Nope." Max answered with no further thought on the matter. She and Sister Shakti grabbed hold of his arms. Kytten jumped back into Max's forehead. "Sister Shakti?"

"Oh! Yes, let's go. I thought I saw someone there for a second. She looked at the building and the vague image of a man there. "Must be my imagination."

"It is not, just something that should be dead. Especially from spying so deeply on you two." Max frowned in the direction. "Next time you do it, I will make you pay. Apparate!"

*Fwoosh!* The trio disappeared into mist. A symbol appeared on the ground in their places.

"Haaa, what is going on with him. He looks almost exactly like Nagi. But is definitely not him." The man sister Shakti saw, was Albireo Imma. The ancient creature but in the disguise of a young man was puzzled. "His Magic is powerful and obscures the area around him. So many spells chanted at once, never heard of any of them. And then that bed, what was it made of?"

*Shine!* The ground lit up slightly. Alberio stopped the spell Max left behind.

"Still wet behind.." He was about to chide the work but stopped once the outer area lit up. He actually triggered the spell by stopping the other with his magic. "What!?"

*Boooooom!* The area lit up in an explosion of force. Black winds knocked him from side to side. As an experienced healer, Alberio cast a few healing spells in an instant. But Max's spell did not let up.

"Ugghh!" Groaning in pain as the ground brought him down. "An inverted gravity field. Good work, but not good enough. Gravity is a specialty of mine!" Sending his magic out, the field lit up. Breaking free altogether, he relaxed a little. "Really interesting."

*Woom!* The area lit up further out. The next tier of the spell activated.

'How many traps did he lay!?' Alberio would find himself busy for a while. As in several months. Max and Kytten laid several as they worked before. Each repaired spell was used as an anchor. In a 30ft radius, a trap was placed. Every bookshelf had a series of spells now that would let Max identify who read them. "Aggghh!"

*Wooooossshhh!* A blast of gravity magic from Alberio once more freed him. Taking a few steps, he tried to head back inside to recuperate. But, that was not going to happen.

*Pull!* A sucking motion pulled him back to the same spot. Gravity magic!

"It was just a little peeking!" Alberio cursed. His magic going to work again. He didn't know he was feeding the spell himself. He will find out. Eventually. "I won't do it again. Well maybe.." The field increased. "Dammit!"

.

Back Home-

.

Sister Shakti left but promised to have what was needed later. She was.. very happy about spending time with Max. As well as Shizune. The two promised to meet up in private to talk things over.

Shizune met her seniors in magic. Which were Mana and Evangeline. The second haven given in entirely after speaking with Mana in detail. And learning a few things about herself from the First Vampire blood drop that found her. It revealed more information about the Lifemaker.

Which, pissed her off to no end.

Kaede was not part of that group set. Which was understandable.

"Max.." Mana called out to him in the living room. The others were taking a bath or doing their own thing. She had a pillow in her hand and motioned for him to make room. Which he did. "..Shizune.. is she like.."

"Not like you as far as I know." Max said politely. He set the book he was reading down to give his full attention. "Why are you so.. skittish?"

"Feel like that woman will snatch you up!" Mana said with a pout. "I am first!"

"Hmmm, technically second." Max answered. Her face was confused. "Kaede was my first contract. You are...."

"Not what I meant." Mana said. Her eyes looked away from his. "In your heart you bastard."

"Haha, I see. You would still be second." Max answered. "Gaia is my first. That will never change. Besides, how can you say that when you are still so shy? Shizune, as far as I know, is not interested in me that way. Feel free to ask her. But if she does make interest, I will respond in kind."

"Because I can you devil!" Mana said unreasonably. "Is it because her bust is bigger?!" Max shook his head. "Then why is she staying here!?"

"She is a new student of magic for one. I doubt she wants to stay for too long. If she does, I will allow it for free." Max grabbed her face and held her gaze. "A devil, that I am. You were told what I had to do beforehand. I will not stop because it upsets you."

"Haaa, Kaede said you would say something like this." Mana held the gaze a moment before looking away. Cheeks redding slightly. "Could have at least humored me." She looked at him slightly out of the corner of her eyes. Max expression stayed the same. "At least I know it was not a lie. Yah jerk."

"Thanks." Max smiled giving her a peck on the cheek. Mana leaned into him falling asleep. 'Now to finish reading this book.' He only gave a small interest to the conversation since it could just be young infatuation for now or the call of his blood and magic to her.

"Max..." Mana realized something she overlooked. "Who in the World is Gaia again?"

"Haha.. that is a really long story." Max grinned as he weaved a spell to show her. "Best told to you by a spell. It was in the contract you signed."

"A lot of stuff is in that contract. It mentions some boss of yours. That is what I remember when thinking about it."
