Trip to the Library Part 2

Everyone scattered about on the lower levels. Max and Sister Shakti went to the lower levels. Kaede kept an eye on Evangeline per Max's orders. Mana looked for a book on the 1st floor that Max said would be worth her time to read.

The more they moved from the other, the more normal Sister Shakti seemed. She sent several messages on her flip phone to her superiors about the situation. Negotiating things to make the transition of spells used better for the ritual in the future better.

Max answered most of her questions with no issue as he grabbed books, glossed them over, and placed them back.

"Hey, Max." Shizuka called out calmly. A letter in her hand as she moved briskly towards them. "I was supposed to give this to you yesterday but got to busy."

"Hello, Shizuka." Sister Shakti said demurely. She eyed the woman with lidded eyes. 'Such a beautiful soul and such a polite woman. A shame she does not join us.'

"Not bad. Guess this would make sense." Max tucked the envelope away after looking the contents over quickly. "Thank you for delivering it. Could have waited till later still."

"But if they do not perform well, you will no longer be the teacher here and fail." Shizuka's voice was very sad. "The students are very happy with you. As well as several teachers. The Kansai association has no business making the situation more difficult for you."

"How foolish." Sister Shakti said in annoyance hearing about the meddling. "Would you like me to intervene?"

"Nope." Max shook his head and kept moving to look over a few more books. The two looked at him critically. "If a group wants me gone so bad, they will do a lot to remove me. It is proof that the school does not value my teaching methods if they give in. As well as the parents of the students to. I am sure it will work out in a way. I have my credentials in the magic department already by taking care of other matters quickly. Then the same with the Teacher certifications to get back at them later. This is just for Mahora Academy."

"What will you do instead?" Sister Shakti wonders if she could persuade him to do other things for her group. Like, join Saint U's major academy in England.

"Huh, I will continue as normal. As a teacher, I can not add any pressure to the students unneeded." Max grabbed a deep black book that did not belong in the current section. It did not belong in the Dimension period actually. 'Another one that escaped to here. The boss will enjoy this.' Looking over his shoulder, Shizuka was staring at him. "I will continue to teach my students the same as before. Teaching them the right methods that suit them. If I am let go because they do not pass, so be it. At least the methods will remain. Such is the way of learning."

"You are a strange one." Shizuka smiled. A slight blush on her cheeks as she looked at Max. This was the second time she felt captivated by him. The way he spoke and carried himself was so carefree but sure at the same time. 'Always as if things will work out. I wonder how far he will go. If not at the school if he fails or out in the World.'

"Can I invite you to a lecture in the future? No matter what happens." Sister Shakti asked. Max gave her a gentle smile showing his teeth a little. "Take that as a yes."

"Yes. I have a good bit of info on a few religious matters I can discuss." Max did have that as a constant side duty. To find more religious information while protecting Earth. As well as people that contained a certain "spark" inside them. Sister Shakti had it. But it was a spark that he already studied. No sense in going deeper there. And the students were forbidden territory there. 'Might find them at the main branch. And there is still the magic world to visit.'

"Oh really?" Shizuka was interested. "I would like to hear a little about Greek & Roman if you have the time."

"No problem." Max moved further down. A bit of a magic barrier went up. A quick smack and it shattered. "Annoying. Sloppy old work at that. You may want to tell the Dean to come and repair it himself."

"I will make a note of it. In fact, I think I will accompany you both further down. I have never gone too far down myself due to the dangers." Shizuka took out a notepad from her purse. Marking the location as they moved. 'This should help with keeping him here. Shove it in the Kansai idiots' faces.'

A few Hours later-

As they moved further down, over 33 magic barriers were marked. A few spatial tears were found as well. Someone had breached the library recently. Sister Shakti sealed them all back up temporarily.

Her expertise was not that high to make sure it was permanent. Max was on the phone talking to the others.

"It is fine. Go home and study. Make sure you finish that homework Kaede. I do not want that math teacher of yours ambushing me again."

"Yes, you may have the fruit candies. It was made for study sessions anyway." Max responded back. "Sister Shakti and Shizuka are with me still. Tell Mana to make sure to turn the heat lamps on in my garden."

...

"Ok, later." Max closed his phone and looked at the two behind him. "You two need a break?"

"Yes!" Sister Shakti answered quickly. She was not embarrassed as she fell on her butt. Shizuka was covered in sweat from the heels she wore. "Glad we kept going in a general direction. If it is this bad, then definitely have more all over."

"Ha.. I agree." Shizuna sighed lightly. "I did not think I was this out of shape. The Dean has quite the work cut out for him."

"You are not out of shape. It is the magic in the place affecting you is all." Max summoned water and food for the two, to help them recover. "Right now, raw magical essence is pouring into you. A good chance to become a Page."

"I do not have that magical potential. Found it out when I was young. Parents did not take too kindly to that." She spoke softly and was quite hurt by the sound of it. "Always wanted to be a magical girl when I was young. Kind of silly right?"

"Not at all." Sister Shakti said. "Max just said raw magical essence is entering you. Surely you can awake to start studying."

"I am too old now. Do you not have to start when young?" Shizuna looked hopeful at the two. Almost pleading in a way. "What would I have to do?"

"Unfortunately, I can not help you. Not accomplish enough myself. Requires at least an advanced practitioner." Sister Shakti turned to Max. "Will you do it?"

"Haaaa, bad idea for me to do. I rather not change her life so much personally." Max shook his head as he crouched down to look at her. "My way would tie you to me. In various ways that others do not understand. I recommend just taking it in, and then heading back to the Dean. I am sure he can help you."

A slight quiet as the three thought the words over and the overall situation.

"I see." Shizuna grabbed Max by the hand. "I am willing to take that chance. I can help a few members of my family if I do. Not my parents but my brother and..."

*Woosh!* A swirl of magic wrapped around the two. A contract formed appearing in front of Shizuna. Her eyes glowed brightly as she read it over. In moments she nodded causing a signature to appear.

A silver snake appeared on her wrist. It circled around before vanishing. A tattoo appeared on her chest. The mark caused Max's eyes to dilate slightly. The contract was not created by him, but by his boss Gaia.

"Ha.. ha.. ha.." her breath was quite hot on Max's face. Rosy cheeks as she started to squirm from the intense energy. The magical essence was quickly devoured in an instant by the mark. "You are something else Max.."

"Yeah.. so are you." Max was still collecting himself. 'The Mark of Medusa. Of all the things to have her acquire, this. It will be a while before the boss lady arrives. I do not have enough contracts yet. Maybe a nudge to make me increase the signing? Or, just something she wanted to do. Oh well. I will either be right or wrong.'

The Basilik power inside of him nudged making him more aware of the woman now. Before she was off limits because her set course lied elsewhere. 

Now.. well ne did warn her.

"Max!" Sister Shakti called to get him to pay attention. Max had stopped talking for a few minutes. "Anything else you have to do?"

"Yes. But more her than me." Max turned to the underground lake in the library. Reaching into his inventory, he threw in a few highly concentrated herbs he worked on. Something he could not use himself or on the others. To potent and they were too young. "Take off your clothes and submerge in the water. You as well Sister Shakti. No sense in you not helping her. But be careful, this method will allow you to learn about each other. In various ways...."

*Thunk!* 5 large gargoyles appeared made of darkness. They moved into the water making a five-point star. Between them, the magical essences turned even more concentrated.

"You better not watch!" Sister Shakti said. Max waved his hands creating a curtain to shield them away. "Thanks!" She was slightly flustered as she disrobed. Shizuna is already completely naked diving in. She would not miss this chance.

"Such a pleasant feeling!" Shizuna said excitedly. Max kept his ears out to detect anything in the area along with a few spells. Nothing was around. 'I can not believe I get a chance to learn magic!'

As the two swam in the middle, Max reached over to check out a few more books. Higher tier spells were used as he copied the words. Quite a few of them were on subjects he never came across before. Countless spells he already knew could now be revised to make room for improvements.

'I have gathered a good bit of the energy here myself, Much to do in the future. But that is after I clean it up. Who the hell knows what that bastard Albireo Imma did to this place.' Max was surprised the man did not come to bother him. He made sure to put up a couple of spells to shield himself and the two women from several adverse effects. 'A little further and we can make it to the Vault of the Magic Book.'

Max continued to read. He used magic to summon several hundred hands to look over the other books around him. Each hand had a protrusion with several eyeballs. Scanning the information for later. If not for the boundless spells of protection, Max would have duplicated the books all in one go.

Some of the protection was strong enough that he would be injured breaking them. Leaving him vulnerable upon leaving. Quite a few devil books were available. The protection was tripled layered against non devil members. A few demons would have the bones ripped out from just touching.

'To think my little student's family is this important. More material to deal with them later.' Max closed the book as he centered himself. Thinking about how to make the best use out of the information available. 'Hmm, so many Dark Designs to implement. So little time.'

Time went by a little longer before it was time to move on. The two had enough time to develop a better magic base.

"The Legendary Book of Merkisedek...." Max said getting up. The two exited the water and redressed in more comfortable clothes that Max sat out. "The pouches can store the other belongings you two had. I am sure you feel refreshed."

"I feel amazing!" Shizuna said loudly. "As if I had a restful sleep and 5 expressos after!"

"I feel more whole. My magic is definitely better." Sister Shakti said. Putting the clothes on, she was surprised they fit perfectly. And the pouch was just right on her side. "So we are going deeper still."

"Yes. Help Sister Shakti calm herself will you? I am sure you would be better at it than I currently." Max pulled the gargoyles back. The five shrunk down into a bracelet. A protection treasure from the process that the two just went through. "I might as well do this while I am here as well."

*Brrrrrpppp!* A magic seal formed. Spreading out taking everything else in the lake. The good and the bad magic.

"Come forth.. my familiar!" Max called out. A bright light shined as a ball of light came over to Max. The intense energy was enough to cause Sister Shakti and Shizuna to shield their eyes and back away. "Awake!"

Hearing the command, it took shape. The form of a black cat with white paws appeared. On the back, two little designs like that of white wings are shown. Eyes opened shining brightly. The eyes were Heterochromia. One Green and the other Blue.

"It is so cute." Sister Shakti pats the cat on the head gently. "I want one now."

"So adorable." Shizuna said. She could feel the power still. Staying back since she was too sensitive still. 'I have taken the first step in my own magic path! I can not wait to get started. But who is the woman that talked to me when I grabbed Max's hand?'

"What is my name?" The cat asked. Shocking both Shakti and Shizuna. "Or have you not thought of one yet?" A slight Italian accent was mixed they both thought.

"I have thought of one. How about.."
