As the two onlookers watched on, both Chiba and Shisui were not concerned about there appearance as they immediately deduced that they weren't a threat and moved on.
Panting heavily, Chiba looked down at his bleeding hands as he realized that the repeated clashes of their blade tore away the harden callouses on his hands.
'I really should have though this through more, I'm still recovering from the side affects of the military ration pill and this will spar will only cause my body to recover slower.'
Chiba saw that Shisui was lightly panting from their exchange as he understood the clear difference between them. In this spar, Chiba was using every ability that he had to keep up with Shisui, meanwhile Shisui was heavily limiting himself to only his sword and Flicker Body Jutus.
He hadn't used any Ninjutsu, Genjutsu, throwing knives or even activate his sharingan! The only trick Chiba still had was using his gravity offensively, but doing that would break their unspoken rules.
Tilting his sword to the side, Chiba's body seemed to eminate an invisible strength and Shisui realized that this would be the final strike.
Mikoto and Kushina watched in excitement as Shisui also got into a stance with his tanto, a blue energy appeared on the edge of the blade getting a confused and annoyed look trom Chiba as a bitter smile appeared on his Shisui.
"Hey I'm not using any jutsu, its just an application of chakra. I believe if your allowed to use your Chakra to sense your surroundings, then I can do this" Shisui said, knowing that his tanto would definitely break without it.
"Whatever..." Annoyed at the appearance of the new technique, Chiba didn't disagree with Shisui's logic as he decided to not hold back anymore.
Lifting his blade up high, Chiba dashed forward as Shisui followed suit. As his sword slammed down, Chiba made his blade as heavy as possible right before it clash as he slammed it downward
As Shisui's chakra covered blade made contract with Chiba's, Shisui felt no resistance whatsoever as his blade cut through Chiba's like hot butter, sending the top half flying away. Chiba immediately let go of his sword and jumped back from the tanto, already knowing that this was going to happen.
As the broken blade flew downward and made contact with the ground, a loud explosion was heard as plums of dirt and dust was kicked up.
Shisui, who wasn't using his sharingan, had to close his eyes as he jumped back. Being so caught up in the battle, Shisui forgot that Chiba was blind and didn't need eyes to see!
Rushing through the plums of smoke, Chiba kicked Shisui in his stomach and sent him skidding backward.
The Soru technique Is movement martial arts that increase the user speed temporarily, but it does that by increasing the users leg strength, making Chiba legs his strongest appendage when using it.
Not wanting to give him the chance to counter attack, Chiba rushed forward and lifted his leg in the air for an axe kick.
Slamming his foot down, Chiba expected to knock out the slightly older boy, only for his kick to be dodge as a fist slammed into his stomach, forcing him to vomit bile and get sent flying back.
As the dust and dirt started to settle, a red eyed Shisui was reveal as Chiba understood how Shisui was able to see and counter attack from the dust.
Struggling to stand up, Chiba entered a sloppy fighting stance only for Shisui to raise his hand.
"I think that's enough Chiba, we are only sparring." Shisui said as his eyes turned back to his original brown eyes.
"....Thank you for sparing with me Shisui, I'll leave the clean up to you friend!" As he said that, Chiba ran over and picked up the broken part of his blade and used his remaining energy to activate soru and flicker away.
"Clean up? What do you mean clean u-" before he could even finish, three Konoha Ninja appeared Infront of Shisui.
"Did you cause that explosion just now?! Even if your young, you know you shouldn't be using Jutsu like this in the village!" An angry ninja said.
"I didn't do that! It was uhhh." While Shisui didn't want to be blamed for the explosion, but he felt like he had cheated by using his sharingan in the battle, he just couldn't bring himself to snitch on him.
Thankfully, the wife of the Uchiha Patriarch was there to help as she quickly settled the matter in a few minutes.
---------------
Limping on his incredibly sore legs, Chiba went to the bank and cashed his check, keeping half of it with him and depositing the other half.
With his money in his pocket, Chiba carried his broken sword in one hand and use the sheath to guild his way through the village until he arrived at his destination.
Walking into the shop, Chiba saw swords, Spears, axes, bows, kunai, shuriken, smoke bombs, explosion tags etc. The store was the one stop shop for ninja, selling everything that they'd ever need.
Walking to the front desk, Chiba started banging away at the bell used to notify a costumer. After decades of pounding metal without ear protection, the old man running the shop was near deaf and his eyes were so old that reading was also a struggle.
Shambling forward, a thin and gangly looking old man walked out of the back room, wondering if someone was actually at the door or if he imagined it. Seeing the blind child standing at the front desk, the old man immediately remembered the kid and the blade he bought from him.
Despite being old and haggardly, the old man had the memory of a steel trap and never forgot a single customer.
" Ah the blind child, what can I do you for?" Without speaking, Chiba wordlessly took of his sword as the blind boy knew talking was a bit of a lost cause on the nearly deaf old man. Chiba still remembered how sore his throat was after having to shout at the top of his lungs for the old man to understand.
"Dragon Lilly! You idiot! You need to take care of her better than this! Give her to me!" The old man snatched the sword from Chiba's hand.
Pulling out his money, Chiba kept some money to spend on Koizumi but handed the old man the good majority of it and told him a few instructions.
"Oh? Good! Good! With this much money, I can repair Dragon Lilly and upgrade her! I'll be able to mix a smidge of adamantine metal into her and make her much more durable! Kid, give me one hundred times as much money and I'll make Dragon Lilly unbreakable!" Chiba gave his blacksmith a fake nod of understanding, not listening to his rambling.
Chiba didn't see the point of naming his sword, all it did was create an unnecessary attachment to an object he'd soon have to replace as he grew larger.
Leaving the shop, Chiba started walking to the ninja school and when he got there, he was in for a tragic surprise.
