Leaving the Patriarchs house, it had been a little over an hour since Chiba entered as he only told Fugaku the necessary information that he needed to know.
There wasnt much that they could do at the moment since the war took precedent, but they had started planning for when the war was over. Chiba wanted to stall for as long as possible before he had to acted, as time was on his side and just by doing his daily quests, he'd reach 100% on the template before he was ten.
Fugaku could only do two things at the moment, Chiba had told him that he wasn't even going to be considered a candidate for the Hokage position, so Fugaku spread the word he wasn't interested in the position in order for the clan members to not feel anger towards the village.
Chiba knew that with Minato as the Hokage, the clan will be treated more equally but there will still be an obstacle. There is only one way to garauntee freedom for the Uchiha clan, that was the elimination of Danzo...
Besides that, Fugaku scheduled a full body check up and blood work for Itachi with the greatest medical ninja in the Land Of Medicine since Tsunade was missing.
While Chiba knew that Itachi was sick as an adult, but he didn't know my else. For all Chiba knew, Itachi could have an untreatable terminal cancer, but he believed that it was a treatable.
After killing the entire Uchiha clan and sparing his little brother, Itachi's entire reason for living was so that his brother could grow up strong and take revenge by letting Sasuke kill him.
Itachi had no reason to cure an illness that would weakened him and make him closer to Sasuke's strength level as he planned on letting Sasuke kill him anyways and the sickness would help his act.
Walking out of the Uchiha compound, Chiba made his way to the Ninja headquarters in order to receive his pay. Taking out his Ninja I'd tag, the woman at the booth input the data in a rudimentary looking computer that looked like it was from the 80's.
The front clerk had a look of shock on her face as she looked at the blind boy and then back at his his mission completion list. Taking out a check, the lady wrote down Chiba's sallery.
"Your payment for Five months of outpost guard duty and completely an S ranked mission, with a bonus pay for going beyond missions requirement, comes to 1,307,888 Ryo." A look of surprise came across Chiba's face as he quickly calculated that into dollars to understand just how much he made.
'Thats around $89,000! For a genin like me, outpost duty is around $2,500 a month, meaning that the S rank mission and the bonus was $76,500. Hanbi probably got much more than me as a Jonin and if the two Chunin didn't leave, id probably have gotten less than $50,000.' Chiba had only been in this world for six year and rarely dealt with money, he still calculated money into USD for a better understanding.
Taking his check, Chiba was planning on going to the bank and cashing it out.
'With this much money, I could buy Koizumi a powerful sword for when she graduates in a few years.....On second thought, She doesn't really have any talent for the blade and having a good one would only make her a target. Now that I think about it, her talent with Ninjutsu, Genjutsu and taijutsu are also below average.... She's too damn insistent on becoming a ninja to convince her otherwise, I need to focus on making her stronger or else she'll end up a Chunin like her parents. Then I'll have t-' "Hey, your Chiba right?"
In the middle of thinking how to strengthen his little sister, a slightly childish voice awoke Chiba from his thoughts.
Immediately activated his Observation Haki to ten feet, Chiba saw a young boy with a tanto on his back and a uchiba fan on his front. Chiba immediately knew who this kid was.
"That would be me and judging by the familiar unique chakra in your eyes, you have to be an Uchiha. Your childish voice indicates your around my age and the casualness in your voice implies you know a lot about me. Based on that, I'm going to guess your Shisui Uchiha, Itachi's friend." Chiba said, trying to make excuses for his Observation Haki.
The pupils in Shisui eyes dilated as he smiled.
"Itachi was right, you are extremely perceptive. We've never even met and you already knew my name."
"Of course I'd know you, Itachi goes on and on about how impressive you are with the Kunai." Chiba said politely, even though he didn't like Shisui.
Chiba didn't hate the boy, he actually felt sorry for him. Shisui, like Itachi, chose the village over the Uchiha and tried to put Fugaku into a life altering Genjutsu.
However what annoyed Chiba about Shisui was that even when the boy got betrayed by Danzo and had his eye stole, he still chose the village over the Uchiha and put pressure on Itachi. If Itachi let the Uchiha go through with the coup, then his best friends death would've been entirely pointless.
While Shisui death wasnt the deciding factor that made Itachi kill the Uchiha clan, it certainly was a factor when considering his choices.
"Itachi talks about you as well, about how strong you are and those proverbs of yours." Despite Shisui also saying this politely, Chiba's observation Haki sensed a strong dislike towards him.
Realizing this, Chiba thought of a classic cartoon trope that perfectly fit this situation. Chiba and Shisui were akin to a devil and angel that sat on Itachi's shoulders, both beckoning Itachi to follow them and not the other. Whether Chiba was the angel or the devil, depended entirely on perspective.
Shisui was pro village while Chiba was pro clan, both wanting Itachi to join there beliefs.
"I've actually heard many impressive stories about you from Itachi, and your nickname 'Shisui of the flickering body' is very famous... Would you mind if I verified these claims for myself?" Chiba said, knowing full well that if he could beat Shisui, Itachi's would be more inclined to follow his path.
Shisui was taken aback by Chiba request, he had earned a nickname from the battle Field, proving that he stood above the average Jonin. Meanwhile Chiba, who was 3 years younger than him, was still a genin with only 5 months of guard duty experience.
"Sure, I'd like to have a spar with you, maybe I can learn a thing or two ." Shisui said as his face became serious.
"That's great, let's go to the training field in the Uchiha compound, less prying eyes there." Chiba said as he used his cane to guide towards the clan, having akward small talk with Shisui along the way.
As they arrived at the outskirts of the village, the small talk between them became fewer and fewer, until they just began silently walking on to the training field. Despite them saying this was just a simple spar, they both knew that they were fighting for who's ideal is right.
Walking to the middle of the grassy training ground, Chiba and Shisui were ten feet apart from each other when Chiba picked up a rock as Shisui gave a nod.
Chiba silently tossed it into the air and when it landed on the ground, Shisui exploded forward at an insane speed, signaling the start of the fight!
