chapter 19 : Tsunade

(A week and three days later in a dark place)

 "Zetsu, what did your research yield?" Tobi (og Obito) asked his companion who emerged from the ground.

 Zetsu: You were right to send me to observe Itachi's younger brother and I can confirm that his chakra is similar to that of Madara my creator. Neither Itachi nor the other children you saved have this kind of signature. Sasuke is definitely his reincarnation .

 " Amazing ! When the old man told me about this I thought he was delusional, we need to start preparations and leave nothing to chance. Do your best to get in touch with Orochimaru, we need to discuss an alliance with him because although this snake is devious and despicable, we need his skills. » Tobi said in a neutral tone.

 He created black Zetsu by animating his own shadow thanks to his right eye and through his left eye he implanted his will into him, Madara's mangekyo sharingan could create life and it was in the same way that he was able to create his white Zetsu different from those of the divine tree even if they had approximately the same abilities thanks to Hashirama's cells.

 "Minato, Kushina what kind of monsters could you have given birth to ?!" Jiraiya muttered in deep shock as in front of him and Obito, Naruto had just performed his first perfect rasengan after 5 days since Jiraiya started teaching them this technique.

Naruto rushed towards a large rock the size of a small house and hit it with the swirling orb only to see the rock collapse with a large hole in its center.

 "Kid, if you become my disciple you'll definitely surpass me very quickly. I could make you a scary ninja" Jiraiya said putting his hand on his shoulder.

 "Congratulations brother, you were able to master the rotation, concentration and formation steps to perfection very quickly. Even for me it was a bit complicated..." Obito said while eating a bowl of noodles so Naruto looked at him irritably.

 "You mastered this technique in just one night you monster, don't try to make fun of me." Naruto said throwing a rock at Obito who dodged it before starting to tease his brother.

 "It's true, Obito mastered a technique as complex as the rasengan in a single night. This kind of understanding is much too fast even for the greatest geniuses, the old master had warned me but once again I didn't realize how terrifying this child is." Jiraiya thought as he watched them having fun, he asked Obito if he ever made a summoning contract and Obito told him that he was already with the monkeys.

For Jiraiya, it was extremely unfortunate, it was even horrible because he thought that with his talents, Obito was the child of the prophecy that he was supposed to meet and train.

 "Rasengan is a technique with great potential but I've the impression that it is incomplete. This is just my feeling but I think this is just the beginning of an even more powerful technique and if it's A-rank now then it might become S-rank later..." Obito said as he created a rasengan in his hand and the speed of execution was already horribly fast .

Jiraiya looked at him, he knew that Minato wanted to develop his technique but died before he could do so but that monster Obito knew that this complex technique was incomplete just by learning it.

 They had been in the current city for a few days and had gathered some information. According to Jiraiya, Tsunade was completely addicted to gambling so Obito offered to find out not about her but about the places where gambling was popular.

Fortunately, they were directed to the town of Tanzaku where festivities related to the goddess of prosperity were currently taking place, a time loved by players from all over the country who come to try their luck.

 It was their last night there and the next day the trio made their way to Tanzaku where Tsunade was with Shizune.

During their journey so far, Jiraiya made sure the boys knew things about him, he told them about his childhood, his training with Hiruzen and the toads.

The last story he told them was his meeting with three orphan children whom he took under his wing, teaching them ninjutsu and how to survive in the land of rain at the end of the second great ninja war.

He spoke to them openly about the pain he felt when he learned that these three children had died.

 Talking about your emotional experiences and your joyful or painful experiences was an excellent way to build relationships. He asked the boys to tell him about their lives so far and while Naruto did, Obito didn't. He remained silent and only added a few comments.

When they arrived at Tanzaku, Obito suggested that they split up to widen the search area and Jiraiya showed them a photo of Tsunade that he had, Naruto asked him what he was doing with it but he punched him on the head before leaving there embarrassed.

 Later that day, Obito was wandering around the big city, he had done some research but he also took the opportunity to relax. Eating treats, playing mini games etc, even for him it was important to relax from time to time. However, an idea came to his mind to find Tsunade. According to Jiraiya she had a great reputation as a loser among reputable players. Given that it was a games festival, Obito to get closer to these people and extract some information himself had to enter their environment and become a player.

 It was by starting to participate in gambling games in the early afternoon that Obito discovered another of his Assets, the player's luck .

He understood and mastered the games in which he participated very quickly, but Obito's major asset was his supernatural luck, a luck in gaming shared with Naruto who also had fun on his side of town.

Around 5 p.m., Obito wandered around the gaming halls building a terrifying notoriety in just a few hours, some tried to accuse him of cheating but upon verification there was no evidence of cheating on his part, others tried to get their money back by force and regretted it horribly.

 Finally, he managed to get some information after lending money to a man who had just lost and apparently, Tsunade the legendary loser was staying in a certain inn which also served as an underground gambling parlor with particularly high stakes.

He found Jiraiya and Naruto in the city thanks to their chakra signatures and shared his information with them.

As they approached the inn, they were surprised to see a completely drunk Tsunade on the street leaning on Shizune's shoulder complaining about life and the losses she had accumulated.

 " Lady Luck smiles on us ! Alright, let's settle this real quick..." Obito said and wanted to step forward but Jiraiya held him by the shoulder and asked him to let him cook so Obito just shrugged his shoulders and stood with his arms crossed that he stayed further behind with Naruto.

 Jiraiya approached Tsunade who quickly recognized him despite being drunk. She was so surprised to see him again that she quickly sobered up and although deep down she was pleasantly surprised to see him, she dryly asked him the reason for his presence in front of her.

Jiraiya suggested that they chat in a suitable place and they went to a small restaurant nearby.

 "I'm listening to you, what do you want from me and who are these two kids ?" Tsunade asked and Obito curtly told her that it was none of her business, he didn't like Tsunade and it wasn't from now.

Tsunade Senju had deserted the village, neglected his obligations to his clan and his heritage.

Hiruzen had already told him about each of the Sanin and Tsunade's reasons for leaving the village. To him, this woman was a fool who was too spoiled.

 "That's enough kid, show some respect. You face the best ninja doctor in the world." Jiraiya said sternly to Obito and his response was quick.

 " Respect ? No matter her reputation, she's just a coward who ran away from her responsibilities to her village and that's all I see in front of me." Obito said crossing his arms as Naruto did a face palm, Shizune wanted to stand up and scold Obito who looked coldly into her eyes giving off a huge killing intent which shocked the two women wondering how many people this boy had already killed.

 "Jiraiya, I don't know what you want from me but I don't like this insolent kid, especially his disapproving look, he reminds me of Nidaime, my great-uncle." Tsunade said with annoyance.

 "(sighs) These boys are the Uzumaki twins, Naruto and Obito. They are the children of the Yondaime and before you ask, Naruto is the one who wears the nine tails. To return to your original question, I have first come to inform you of the death of our old master the Sandaime Hokage. The old man defended the village against an attack by Orochimaru in complicity with Suna." Jiraiya said as both women were shocked.

 Shizune: Is the village at war ?

 Jiraiya: There was a battle but things were managed quite well, these two boys played key roles in our victory and limiting our losses. Suna surrendered so the war was aborted because of their truly immense losses not counting their captives that we hold. The village is doing relatively well compared to this event but we are missing a leader and that is why I am here. Tsunade, you've been appointed to be the fifth hokage of Konoha.

 Jiraiya: So, Tsunade?

 "Thank you but I refuse, sorry..." Tsunade said nonchalantly and with pride.

 "Hahaha I feel nostalgic, that's what you said when I asked you out." Jiraiya said shaking his head with a tight smile.

 "There we are, we're set. Let's stop wasting time here with this traitor, the village certainly needs us." Obito said standing up as Naruto slammed his fist on the table out of anger.

 " How ? How can you be so insensitive when the village needs you ? They ignored your desertion and your lack of loyalty to offer you the title of hokage that your grandfather the shodaime once had.

You're offered the honor and ultimate duty of an exceptional ninja to protect the village, manage it and ensure the well-being of every person in the village.

How is it possible that you, the granddaughter of the first hokage, are so repulsive towards your own village?!" Naruto asked as Tsunade looked at him intently.

 "Jiraiya, the host of the nine tails really looks like his father and he seems talented. (to the twins) Listen carefully boys, you seem quite intelligent so understand that the position of hokage is useless and thankless.

Your father the Yondaime was an exceptional Ninja, uniquely talented in everything he did but how did he end up ? By sacrificing himself like an idiot for the village, life is not like money that must be bet for some gain impossible to enjoy after death." Tsunade said with a smirk, Shizune and even Jiraiya looked at her seriously as they listened to her.

 "This is the last time you speak like this about our father, he was an execrable father by imprisoning a monster in my brother but as hokage he was irreproachable, the only ones who can feel dissatisfied with him are his son and no one else.

He, like the other hokage before him, did their best for the village, some went so far as to commit atrocious things out of duty. You may be reluctant to take this position but show respect and as a shinobi of Konoha, I will attack you with the intention of killing you the next time you insult our late protectors." Obito said coldly looking into her eyes and the tension rose a notch even though he was only 13 years old but for experienced ninjas, a shinobi was a shinobi and Obito was far, far away from be a normal boy.

 Jiraiya: Calm down brat...

 "I'm tired of listening to you, why do you tolerate a Kunoichi who deserted the village long before I was born insulting our late protectors? Out of friendship ? By privilege that she is the best ninja doctor in the world? Why ?" Obito said to Jiraiya.

 "This woman you are hearing has sacrificed a lot for the village and she's a heroine of two great wars with several lives saved. I understand your frustration but you have to take it upon yourself." Jiraiya tried to calm him down but Tsunade wasn't done.

 "You're exactly the temperamental copy of my great-uncle from the little I remember of him. Besides, he too died like an imbecile by throwing his life away, my grandfather also did it, powerful ninjas who died by putting their lives on the line like children." She said nonchalantly and when Obito listened to her talk like that about Tobirama Senju his role model, he remained silent for a moment.

 Jiraiya: You changed Tsunade, I don't know what happened to you after leaving the village but your speech is truly atrocious. Nidaime-sama in my memories was a very kind and caring man when he came to the orphanage, I have very good memories of this man. Show some respect. 

 "I'm in my fifties Jiraiya, it's an age where you have to be realistic. She said mockingly as Jiraiya became furious just like Naruto but as he was about to speak a kunai flew quickly towards Tsunade's face who had the reaction time fast enough to stop it a few millimeters from her eye, she herself was surprised by this attack like everyone else but it was not over.

 Obito in an instant was already in front of Tsunade as she grabbed the Kunai and he sent a kick to the base of the grabbed kunai to push it further into the Sanin's eye but Tsunade was quick and she grabbed him by the leg before sending him flying through the board wall of the restaurant.

Obito in the open air did a back-flip to land on the ground without any problem, he saw people rushing out including Naruto and the others.

 "Good, seeing what you're worth kid. You seem to want to fight with me so I'm going to give you a chance and even promise you one thing, if you manage to touch me then I'll accept the position in Konoha." She said as Naruto came near his brother who asked him to stay out of this, he wanted to settle the score with her alone.

 "There's no point making that kind of promise, I don't want you as a fellow shinobi and even less as hokage. I promised to attack you with the intention of killing you so be very careful..." Obito said taking out his tanto before infusing it with wind chakra, he hated the person in front of him who had disrespected to men who gave their lives for the village.
