Hyorinmaru (Edited)

AN: From here on I will only use past tense in flashbacks. Everything else I will edit to be consistent present tense. If I missed anything or you find any typos please let me know in the comments.

Three years passed by in a flash. I am six years old now and it is time to go to the academy for our group of friends (Ino-Shika-Cho, Minato and me).

Apart from deepening our friendship a lot, only one remarkable event happened during this time.

The week after unlocking my chakra I was diligently trying to practice my chakra control using the method my mom taught me but no matter what I did I just couldn't get the leaf to stick on my forehead at all.

Feeling helpless and frustrated to see no progress at all I went to my mother for advice.

"Mom, can you help me. This stupid leaf doesn't want to get stuck to my forehead" I complained.

Looking up from the kitchen counter, where she was cutting vegetables in preparation for lunch, she came over to me and said "Let me have a look."

I placed the leaf on my forehead again for the umpteenth time and concentrated on moving my chakra to the correct spot. My chakra moved easily at my command but the leaf showed no reaction at all and simply fell to the ground like all the times before.

Seeing this my mother frowned for a while and then shrugged her shoulders. "I can't see anything wrong with what you are doing. This should work. Hmm... Let's go visit granny Mito tomorrow. She may have an idea about what is going on."

With no other choice I reluctantly agreed and went out to play with Shika and the gang.

The next morning my mom took me to the largest residence in the Senju compound to visit granny Mito. I had heard a lot of stories about her.

Some said she was the strongest person in the entire village after the death of my great grandfather. Others claimed that even Hiruzen Sarutobi the current Hokage was afraid of her. Some even called her a monster when they thought no one was listening.

So you can imagine how scared I was to meet her. I was only a three year old kid with malfunctioning chakra after all.

Seeing my anxious face my mom comforted me "Don't worry about granny Mito's reputation. She will be very gentle with you. She is from the same clan as me after all. Also her late husband was the brother of your great grandfather. So you are family to her and Uzumaki always take care of family."

Slightly less nervous now I gathered my resolve and once we reached the porch, before we were even able to knock, the door opened on its own and a gentle voice floated out inviting us in.

We entered the house and followed the voice until we reached a cosy looking Japanese style living room. There sat a woman who appeared to be in her mid thirties with fiery red hair even brighter than my mom's preparing tea.

"Good morning Mito sama." greeted my mother.

I looked at the beautiful lady in front of me in astonishment and it took me a few seconds to collect myself before greeting her the same way my mother did.

Seeing my wide eyes she chuckled and greeted us back "Haha, good morning dears. Did you expect a wrinkly old hag?"

Responding to my embarrassed flush she good naturedly laughed and said "This is because we Uzumaki have incredibly strong life force. Also my Yin-seal certainly doesn't hurt my appearance"

"Now come sit and have some tea. I find it is much easier to get into heavier topics with a calm mind after a good cup of tea"

We took her up on her offer and engaged in a bit of small talk with her while enjoying an excellent cup of tea.

After we finished our cups, she got into business and asked us why we came. So we explained her my problem and she thought about it for a few moments.

"Well show me the problem child" she then told me so I showed her my attempt at sticking the leaf. As expected it didn't work and the leaf floated all the way to the ground.

"This is highly unusual. Hmmm..... Yes I have an idea what might be happening but let me make sure my conjecture is right."

She started forming hand seals at an unbelievably quick rate and only after two minutes stopped sealing. She gently put her hand on my belly and thousands of symbols started crawling all over my body before retracting back into her hand.

Her eyes widened in surprise an she exclaimed "Unbelievable!!! How is this possible? How can you have so much spiritual energy? With this much imbalance it's a miracle that you were even able to unlock your chakra at all!!!"

Seeing our confused looks she calmed down and started explaining "You see, you have an immense amount of mental energy. In fact it is about two thousand times as high as your physical one.

Normally us Senju and Uzumaki tend to have stronger bodies so our chakra balance would normally lean more on the physical side. Yours though is the extreme opposite.

With this high imbalance in your chakra composition you will never be able to use it for any kind of jutsu like this."

Seeing me starting to panic she went on "Now no need to worry yet. There are a few things we can do about this. But let me finish what I found first.

The most peculiar thing I found is a secondary consciousness that seems to be responsible for over 99% of your mental energy."

Hearing this I immediately thought of Hyorinmaru my Zanpakuto. Could he be the reason for this?

"While I can't tell where this consciousness came from it doesn't seem to be dangerous to you other than disrupting your chakra balance."

Seeing me nod thoughtfully Mito continued "This leaves us with a few options to tackle this problem.

First we could simply do nothing and you can do an ordinary civilian job. As long as you don't become a shinobi this imbalance has no negative effect on you at all."

I frowned at this as I didn't want to be helpless in a world where breathing fire and shooting lightning was normal.

"The second option is we simply seal away your second consciousness forever. That way your imbalance will reduce from 2000 times to just 20 times mental energy. Then with enough physical training and your body growing up you will be able to find a balance between physical and mental energy and be able to become a normal ninja."

This option was much better since I would be able to fight and grow strong but if my theory about Hyorinmaru was correct, it would be a shame to lose him forever.

"Now for the third and last option. Do you know about the bijuu?" Mito asked me.

"Yes, they are gigantic masses of chakra with their own consciousness. Only your husband and his rival Madara Uchiha were ever able to beat them"

"Indeed that is right. What most people don't know is that bijuu chakra is very special. It has the characteristic of devouring other types of energies and converting them into bijuu chakra as long as there is a sufficient amount of bijuu chakra there to start the conversion.

However to successfully convert other types of energy there must be a spiritual consciousness to guide the process.

That means that in your case it is possible to seal away your second consciousness together with about a tail's worth of bijuu chakra which will slowly over time convert your extra mental energy into bijuu chakra and your second consciousness into a pseudo bijuu."

I got excited just hearing about this option. I couldn't wait to fight alongside Hyorinmaru again. Seeing my excitement though Mito warned "This process however is incredibly dangerous. There are five potential problems.

First if the consciousness inside you is too weak, the remnant thoughts of the original bijuu could swallow it and you whole and turn you into a feral beast after the seal is removed.

Second if the consciousness is strong enough to control the bijuu chakra but you are too weak then the new pseudo bijuu will take over your body and go on a rampage as you release the seal.

Third if for any reason the bijuu is removed from your body you will die as any jinchuuriki does when their bijuu is extracted.

Fourth if your body is incompatible with bijuu chakra, as soon as you release the seal the bijuu chakra will consume your body and you will die. Luckily you have Uzumaki blood so this should not be an issue.

And last the seal holding the bijuu chakra and helping the conversion will use a lot of your own chakra. That means right now you will only have access to about 10% of your own natural chakra reserves. Of course you will get access to more as your chakra reserves grow.

The conversion process itself would take about 10 to 15 years so you need to be ready to lose a lot of your chakra for quite some time in case you chose this option."

I thought on this deeply. The first problem was not much of one as I knew Hyorinmaru quite well. He was definitely strong enough to tame some bijuu chakra. He was the strongest ice type Zanpakuto of all after all.

I also had a lot of confidence in myself so I didn't believe the second complication was a problem for me. I knew that I could get strong enough within ten years to be worthy of Hyorinmaru again.

There is not much I could do about number 3 but that would be a mute point as soon as I was strong enough. As for the fourth my luck of birth took care of this for me so I was very grateful to my mother for giving me Uzumaki blood.

As for the last one as I had a lot of chakra it would actually help me learn fine chakra control when a lot of my chakra was sealed away and I would benefit from it in the long run. I just had to be patient and not die until then.

With that my decision was final so I asked Mito to proceed with the third option.

She told us to come back tomorrow as she has to prepare for the sealing ritual.

The next day my mom and I came back to Mito's residence. She invited us in and served some tea again to relax everyone.

Then it was time and we moved into the ritual hall. This underground space was apparently created by Hashirama specifically for the purpose of sealing the kyubi and reinforced by Mito using countless seals, making this one of the most secure places in all the elemental nations.

I removed my shirt and lay down on the ritual altar as instructed by Mito and she started working.

First she strapped my limbs down securely before she set up the initial sealing framework, in this case the eight trigrams sealing style. Then she slightly loosened the seal on her own stomach in order to extract some of the ninetails' chakra which was sealed inside her.

Finally she used the pre-prepared framework to seal the extracted bijuu chakra together with Hyorinmaru inside my stomach and initiated the fusion.

Getting bijuu chakra sealed inside me was almost as painful as being born and lasted a lot longer. I was thankful for being restrained as I would have thrashed around from the pain otherwise. After 2 hours the process was finally finished and the pain that kept me awake finally subsided and blessed darkness claimed me.

I woke up 4 hours later in my own bedroom with my mom watching over me.

"How do you feel? Any pain anywhere?" she asked me worriedly.

"Don't worry. I'm fine" was all I could say before she enveloped me in the most crushing hug ever.

From then on I went to Mito's house twice a week to learn sealing so I could unseal Hyorinmaru on my own once the transformation was complete.

She also taught me how to enter the seal space so I could talk to Hyorinmaru.
