Damon's brows furrowed, confused by Kyra's words. "You mean heat?" he asked.
"Y-yes." she replied, her voice trembling.
His heart tightened at the thought of her distress. "Little thing, wait for me and lock the door. Don't open it until I come back." he said, urgency in his voice as he quickly ran out of the house.
He wasn't sure what females used during their heat, but he knew one place to find out: the healer.
Damon sprinted through the snowy landscape, his breath visible in the cold air. The path to the healer's house was familiar, but today it felt longer.
