However, amidst this extraordinary reality, there exists a young boy named Jacob who has faced a fate different from his peers. Chapter 39 The School Is Under Attack 2

They huddled together, devising a plan to escape their dormitory, head to the weapon hall, and regroup with other students. Despite the fear that threatened to overwhelm them, they knew they had to stay strong and face the horrors outside.

As the roommates continued huddling together, Jacob took charge of the situation. "Alright, here's the plan," he said, his voice steady despite the pounding in his chest. "We'll use the fire escape stairs on the far end of the hallway. It's less likely the vampires are concentrating there. Stay close and move silently. We can't risk attracting their attention."

Nods of agreement passed between Adam and Ray, and they prepared to make their move.

They slowly unlocked the door, keeping an ear out for any signs of danger. As they cautiously stepped into the dimly lit corridor, the faint scent of blood hung in the air, a stark reminder of the carnage unfolding outside.

Their hearts raced as they made their way towards the fire escape, their eyes darting in all directions, alert for any sign of movement. With every step they took, the tension grew, and it felt as if the air itself was charged with malevolence.

As they reached the stairs, they heard faint footsteps approaching from the opposite end of the corridor. Panic gripped them, but they didn't have time to hide. The friends pressed themselves against the wall, trying to blend into the shadows.

Two dark figures emerged from the darkness, their eyes glowing crimson with hunger. The friends swallowed their fear, realizing that they had no choice but to confront the vampires head-on. Ray tightened his grip on a metal bookend he had picked up earlier, while  Adam clutched a ruler, his knuckles turning white.

After a moment of staring, they sprang into action. Jacob and his friends struck first, catching the vampires off guard. They fought with a fierceness born out of desperation, each swing of their makeshift weapons aimed at disabling their adversaries.

Despite their little training, they were no match for the vampires' supernatural speed and strength.

One of the vampires lunged at Adam, knocking the ruler from his hand. The vampire's sharp fangs gleamed in the dim light as it went in for the kill.

Just as all hope seems lost, Ray leaped forward, thrusting the metal bookend into the vampire's heart. With a blood-curdling scream, the creature disintegrated into ash before their eyes.

But there was no time to celebrate their victory. The second vampire remained a deadly threat, and it showed no sign of backing down. The cadets circled around it, keeping their distance, hoping to catch it off guard.

Ray saw an opportunity and lunged at the vampire, swinging the metal bookend with all his might. The vampire dodged his attack with a sneer, but Mark's strike had given Adam an opening. He thrust his ruler forward, managing to pierce the vampire's shoulder.

The vampire recoiled in pain and fury, but it was not enough to defeat it. The creature snarled and launched itself at Adam, who managed to dodge just in time. The vampire crashed into the wall, creating a momentary distraction.

With quick thinking, Jacob seized the opportunity and picked up Adam's fallen ruler. He swung it with all his strength, striking the vampire on the side of the head. The blow stunned the creature long enough for Ray to deliver the finishing strike. He plunged the metal bookend into the vampire's heart, and it, too, turned to ashes.

Breathing heavily and covered in a mix of sweat and dust, the cadets looked at each other in disbelief. They had just survived a harrowing encounter with vampires, and the reality of the danger they were facing sank in deeper. Their journey to the weapon hall was far from over, but they knew they had to keep moving.

"Now that's what I call teamwork," Adam lamented.

They pressed on, moving through the darkness and silence, their ears strained for any sign of danger. When they finally reached the weapon hall, they were relieved to find that the door was still intact.

In the blink of an eye, four ominous figures, their eyes glowing with a sinister hunger, came hurtling towards them at a breakneck pace. Their hearts pounded like thunder as they felt the cold grip of fear tightening around them. Instinctively, they sprinted towards the weapon hall, their footsteps echoing through the corridors, reverberating with both urgency and trepidation.

Reaching the hall just in the nick of time, they slammed the massive door shut, their hands trembling. The heavy thud echoed through the chamber, a sound that seemed to mark the boundary between life and death. As they caught their breath, their wide-eyed gazes met, and a collective sigh of relief swept through the room like a gentle breeze.

"Ah! That was really close," Jacob murmured, his voice barely above a whisper,  danger.

Once inside, they were met with an array of weaponry, from traditional swords and bows to advanced energy-based firearms. The sight of the arsenal bolstered their spirits, knowing they finally had a fighting chance against the vampire menace.

Ray who hadn't been to the weapon hall before voiced out in amazement.  "Wow! Is this what the weapon hall looks like? It is amazing."

"Yeah this is what you are missing, now let's hurry up, get these weapons, and these vampires who's the boos around here," Jacob said.

Ray found a pair of silver-coated daggers, abd he also chose a sleek, compact crossbow. Jacob opted for the longsword, the same sword he chose on the first day of class, and Adam picked a high-caliber pistol with silver bullets and of course his little booms.

Armed and ready, they let the room the vampires who were once at the door had left. The friends  made their way towards the academy's central courtyard, where other students and staff were gathering to make their last stand.

The deafening sound of battle echoed in the distance, and the academy's once orderly grounds were now a battlefield.

As they joined their comrades, they found that the situation was dire. Vampires were overwhelming the defenders, and the casualties were mounting.

Jacob and his friends joined the battle and they refused to be defeated.  They fought alongside their fellow students and instructors, using the weapons they had acquired to gain an upper hand against the undead horde.
