Helplessness

Seeing the sudden attack Moria tried to stop his axe swing to defend himself, but before he could intercept the wolf bite hard in Moria shoulder.

With the wolf gnawrishing his shoulder, Moria let go of his axe and was thrown back, taking advantage of Moria fall, the wolf pounced once again on Moria, his two front paws slashed towards his enemy chest.

Luckas watched everything with horror in his eyes, Moria tried desperately to block the wolf attacks with his arms, the scene of Moria's arms being constantly torn open by the wolf's paws and jaw made Luckas tremble.

Luckas bit his lips and gathered every bit of courage he had, he knew that if he just watched the wolf kill Moria, he would be the next target. Luckas took a deep breath and dashed towards Moria's axe.

Sweat poured over Luckas body as he run, with each breath he took a huge amount of Qi poured into his body, Luckas tried to lift the axe, but, its heavy weight was too much for Luckas to lift.

Luckas tried his best to lift the axe as he watched the furious wolf mangle Moria's arms, Luckas anxiety reached its peak, Qi still poured to his dantian, just as Luckas was losing hope, a small notification box appeared in his vision and sudden burst of strength came to him

Still, with great difficulty Luckas raised the axe and wobbled towards the wolf, Luckas face flushed red as he used every bit of newfound strength to swing the axe.

Luckas closed his eyes as he swung the axe towards the wolf, he only decided to open it again after feeling that the axe hit something. When Luckas opened his eyes he met the gaze wolf gaze, a little of blood flowed through the back of the wolf.

Luckas pushed the axe harder but the wolf didn't budge, Luckas sighed, it looked like it was all for naught, at least he was proud of himself, since transmigrating to this new world he decided he wanted to live a full life without regrets.

Luckas meet the wolf gaze without a drop of fear in his eyes as he prepared for what was to come. The wolf growled quietly as he kicked Luckas with his two back paws.

Luckas kept agonizing as he heard the wolf getting closer, when the wolf pounced on him, he weakly raised his arms to protect his head. The wolf paw hit his chest and ripped a big piece of flesh.

Luckas consciousness was about to vanish when the wold bit down on his arms that were placed above his head, the pain of having his arms bones shattered made Luckas jolt awake.

He wished to just die already, the pain he was inflicted was way too much for him to endure, but, he still held the tears back, he wanted to die like a man, facing his enemies with bravery and courage.

Just before Luckas bloody confront with the wolf, Philips was meeting with Elias at the Duke's Palace.

-" I was about to enter a period of closed-door cultivation, but things at the country got chaotic too quickly and my family required my help." Philips had a bothered tone as he remembered his frustrated plans.

-" Truly a pity, worldly matters are a burden for all cultivators." Elias knew how having his cultivation affected by worldly matters felt, he too was about to distance himself from the world to cultivate when his Sect Leader gave him this mission.

-" A pity indeed, but the duty I have with my family and kingdom is greater than some small personal gains." Philips had a strange smile on his face as he said that.

-" Something happened?" Philips knew that Cyl wouldn't call for something trivial, but nonetheless, he still felt quite annoyed by the constant calls he received today.

-" Sir Philips, there is a pack of demonic beasts at the Verdant Forest." Cyl's voice was serious as he quickly told the situation of the forest. " While the pack is made of low-level beast there is a high number of the beast here.

-" How many are there and what level?" Philips thought that the presence of demonic beasts there was strange, but he didn't think too much about it.

-" They are at the beginner stage of the Demonic Body, all of them, for the exact numbers, there is too many to count."

Philips thought a little and continued to enquire Cyl about his situation. " Can you guarantee everyone's safety?"

-" Luckas decided to stay where we set up camp, I left someone there to guard the camp, I can take care of the situation here, but I don't know the situation of Luckas and the other guard."

-" I understand, I'm on my way." Philips quickly ended the call and got up. " Apologies for the sudden interruption, but it looks like I have to go resolve some matters"

-" Hahaha. the life of a noble sure is troublesome, dont worry about me and go resolve your matters."

Elias had a strange glint in his eyes as he watched Philips leave. Someone of importance must be in danger for him to make a move directly. He thought back and remembered that the name of the young man who received the highest honour in the ceremony a few days ago was Luckas too.

-" Oh, .this Luckas might be quite the special character for Philips to think so highly of him." Elias finished his tea and walked to the window, from afar he sensed Philips quickly moving in the void with a smile.
